if i got a dime every time someone mentions ww1 or ww2 for every contemporary conflict, i'd be a millionaire.
the island is not in europe, so the logic isn't exactly sound. austria-hungary attacked serbia, so each brought their respective ally. but, germany declared war on france, which was kinda dumb. then, germany basically brought in the united kingdom by making a minor yet important mistake. the united states will defend the island in east asia, but not all junior allies will join in as a co-belligerent. because australia and britain joined the US for the iraq war, i do believe that the two will join in as co-belligerents to help the US. japan and others will most likely supply the US side than to flat out join in. if they do join in, then that is a risky mistake as that will bring in other problematic variables for those joining in. but, if china plays their cards right, they can take the island with minor damages.
