true. i think whatifalthist is reading too many opinioned articles or sketchy forum posts. tang dynasty royals were han paternally and culturally. maternal lines can be whatever. however, i do believe xiongnu had some involvement with the hunnic empire, not directly. as xiongnu realm collapsed to the han dynasty, the remnants of the xiongnu fled westward. xiongnu did not equal the hunnic people, but they were in the battles.

@mappingshaman5280 during that time, secret societies want to overthrow Qing and possibly reinstall Ming. They thought about Ming in 1912 when Qing collapsed. I know Taiping and political movements will be in the game but not sure if underground groups will be considered. We’ll see what happens

chiang was very corrupt. he didn't care for the peasants or workers, nor did he care about stability of the country. he was after power, even when the japanese invaded (he still sought to control everything until he was forced to compromise). besides, sun yat-sen didn't choose chiang to be his successor, chiang forced his way in to become leader.

paternally, the tang dynasty emperors were han. regardless, they were culturally han. really all that mattered.

i hope Ming or some similar states are in Victoria III

this video has so many wrong or controversial points. like: saying maoist china fell as with many other autocratic regimes but maoist government smoothly transitioned to government of china today. tang dynasty should not be considered turkic as that was not the main line within the family. whatifalthist calls qing the manchu conquest yet considers manchu as chinese but not the mongols, thinking that the manchu people assimilated into the native population which is not exactly true- so, he is semi-aware but does not believe in New Qing History nor Qing conquest theory. tangut people aren't mongol, manchu, nor han which is correct but he puts them as tibetan which is incorrect culture-wise. china didn't exactly ignore western technology prior to the opium war, late ming had potential as they were manufacturing such weapons and producing some good scholars/researchers but died to qing (and arguably shun dynasty). qing was in-contact with some western europeans and had some weapons but those instances are irrelevant as manchu people had no interest with higher technology in the first place [during that time]. many peasants did make themselves kings but few if not one or two became emperors. the legalist pattern isn't that compelling as if you can see that if a government plays their cards right, they can last longer. as for japan and south korea being democratic, they were or are influenced by america after ww2, so there isn't really a real self-efficient state that became democratic on their own in east asia. "democratic" or policy-laxed china will have many internal problems.

so much misinformation in this video. smh

@Χοιρινάουράιγκουάνα i think Xianbei was proto-Mongol or of the sort
5
how were greeks and romans not authoritarian or autocratic? lol
5
yeah, Sun believed that china should be autocratic before transitioning into a nation-state with elections. there's material on this

he's either confused or misinformed. i've seen this kind of thing on some forums or articles, they are incorrect. whatifalthist should do some more research than to rely on suspicious sources
3
@scottanno8861 doesn't make any sense. b8
2
@taptiotrevizo9415 which is incorrect. manchu people did adopt the language and similar governance to ming, but their traditions and societal structure stayed the same, differing from han ones
2
flawed rationale. but, always worth a laugh. regular han citizens will rebel if there is starvation in the urban center, very unlikely to happen. food amount can sustain metropolitan areas, that's for sure
2
an example of not sound logic. whatifalthist speaks the patterns he agrees with, without accounting for variables that can flaw that perception

@MitchJohnson0110 high budget doesn't equate to invincibility though. and our client allies will eventually act on their own, how will the US gov respond?
1
not really the pattern, but good try
