  1. there are many assimilation tactics. one being american how they contain the natives into fixed boundaries and have them adopt the language and customs by force (mixing discouraged). another that was used by the iberians were enslaving the natives (not containing them) and have their own population migrate to those lands to have the natives slowly assimilate (mixing involved). other was employed in east asia, where the government would have the population migrate to the native lands and have the natives sent to the homeland, so there were swapping involved (mixing may have been encouraged).
