  4. i forgot one thing: people have shouted "1984" for what the US government has done. not whataboutism. this just goes to show that any action can lead people to say authoritarianism. makes you think, "1984" is pretty much a pop cultural reference at this point.

  7.  @TynanCreations  true. demographics in quebec and in inner mongolia are a bit different. french is the only official language in quebec. mandarin and mongolian are both official languages in inner mongolia. french community in quebec is the majority. mandarin speakers are the majority in inner mongolia, while mongolians are the minority in the region. questionable if they can speak any mandarin. mongolian isn't banned. it would be completely wrong if it was banned. demographics might have something to do with the school policy change with schools requiring mandarin.
