  1. europeans and european americans usually oversimplify the history of china. calling every dynasty/nation in china as china doesn't really show the big picture. qing was already an outsider that conquered the natives, yet when britain came and pushed qing, it was called foreign conquest. really makes people think, how china would look if it wasn't qing

  2. ming was already researching european armament and manufacturing, and shun would have done the same. qing was a more isolated version of ming. before the opium war, qing rejected any foreign ideas or technologies. shows how screwed china was under qing. always funny to see how people say ming or variant would have ended up the same as qing. i bet mongol yuan would have done better than manchu qing against the british
