  5. i did some research on what/how us spends when it comes to military expenditure. research and development for usa, china, and russia are about the same. taking into account, usa has like 50+ bases and expensive technology, a bunch probably goes into maintenance and sustainability. soldiers need benefits, and allies need funding, so some money there.
