Coral snakes Micrurus fulvius have front fixed fangs and neurotoxic " venom " capable of delivering venom anywhere on the human body but are reluctant to bite unless mishandled usually by children using the rhyme to identify them. Only one person has died from a Coral snake bite since the development of North American Coral snake " Eqine " by Wyeth Laboratory in the late sixties and now produced by Pfizer Laboratory.

No one has ever died from the Western or Sonoran desert Coral snake bites. Only 2 people have died from the Micursus fulvius Eastern Coral snake since the late sixties when Coral snake antivenin was developed by Wyeth Laboratory and is now manufactured by Pfizer Laboratory. This is a video based on dramatic overreacting to North America's only elapid species with neurotoxins...

If you are bitten by a venomous snake seek medical care asap and you will be treated with antivenin if the snake has injected venom. Venom is injected into the bloodstream unless you have a dry bite meaning that no venom was injected. Crofab antivenin is used when treating the bites of all North American pit vipers and Micrurus Pfizer Laboratory antivenin is used when treating the bites of all North American Coral snakes.

@MyWildBackyard Once again this is medical misinformation ! Wyeth Laboratory halted North American Coral snake antivenin in 2003 and Pfizer Laboratory antivenin began producing Micrurus North American antivenin in 2009 after the shelf life of 5 years was extended by 12 years during the transition. Carl Barden and Jack Facentie have been milking and providing Micrurus fulvius venom for the production of antivenin for treating all North American Coral snakes Eastern, Western and Sonoran desert Coral snakes. SOURCE THE ORIANNE SOCIETY 2013. Hospitals that don't carry the Pfizer Laboratory antivenin can have it flown in by Plane or helicopter people in the United States can be treated with Coral snake antivenin . Legendary herpetologist Bill Haast began working with Coral snakes and tube feeding them at the Miami Serpentarium Laboratories and Jack Facente and Carl Barden still milk and tube feed Coral snakes Micrurus fulvius using the same method that was developed by legendary herpetologist Bill Haast Miami Serpentarium Laboratories .

The Blue Maylayan coral snake, African Bush viper, Spiny Bush viper, Sind Krait, Monocled Cobra from West Bengal and the Monocled Cobra from Arunachal Pradesh, Mangshan pitviper,Sochurek's Saw -Scaled Viper and the African Twig snake. Wyeth Laboratory development of Coral snake Micursus fulvius was created in 1967 and halted in 2003 then purchased by Pfizer Laboratory in 2009. The shelf life of 5 years was extended by 12 years during the transition to Pfizer Laboratory Micursus antivenin for treating all North American Coral snakes Eastern, Western and Sonoran desert Coral snakes. SOURCE THE ORIANNE SOCIETY in 2013. It's important to understand people in the United States can be treated successfully with antivenin for all Coral snake species !

Black Mamba venom is neurotoxic with cardiovascular toxins is the most feared snake in Africa due to superstitious and mythical beliefs about snakes ! Danie Pienaar survived the bites of a Black Mamba without antivenom and lots of people who are bitten survived with SAMIR polyvalent antivenom or no antivenom by being put on a medical ventilation machine because they are allergic to SAMIR polyvalent antivenom.

Female Cottonmouths give birth to live young they don't build a nest or take care of their young. If a snake comes in your direction you're in between its hiding place. Snakes don't chase people or eat people in North America. It's a myth told throughout the Southeastern United States by superstitious beliefs about snakes.
1
You can't put on insect repellent when you are handling amphibians and reptiles most herpetologist who handle them know that before they go looking for them.
1
The ryhme isn't reliable in North America due to melanist and albino specimens and 16 species of new world Coral snakes and over 60 species of old world Coral snakes that come in different colors .

North American Coral snake ( Equine ) was developed by Wyeth laboratory in the late sixties and is now produced by Pfizer Laboratories effective until June 2024 when it could be extended into the next decade due to Coral snakes rarely bite humans. Dr. Bill Haast was instrumental in the early development of Antivenom and his blood was very important in the development of Cobra Antivenom. He was bitten over a hundred times and passed away of natural causes at the age of 100 .
1
16 species of new world Coral snakes and over 60 species of old world Coral snakes .
1
Front fixed fangs just like all other elapids Taipan, Cobra and Mamba species they also can deliver venom on the initial contact of the bite but will continue to move their heads side to side injecting more venom it's important to get them off asap. Lots of misinformation about Coral snakes.
1
North American Coral snake antivenin ( Equine ) Pfizer Laboratory Micursus antivenin for all species of Coral snakes Eastern, Western and Sonoran desert has been available since 2009 .

Akistrodon pisivorous AKA Cottonmouths and Watermoccasins is the hook tooth fish eater which eat fish not humans. 100 % of these stories involve fishing when people claim to be chased by a Cottonmouth. It's a myth told by people with superstitious beliefs about snakes.

The Eastern massasauga is small rattlesnake that lives in the wetlands of Rochester and Syracuse New York. The dusky Carolina and Western are all part of the 3 subspecies of PYGMY rattlesnakes that live in the Southeastern quarter of the United States. Eastern massasauga rattlesnakes were listed threatened under the endangered species act primarily due to habitat loss in 2016.

PNG Taipans that lives in Paupua New Guinea are very dangerous and kill approximately 400 people each year. They are similar to the Coastal Taipan Oxyuranous scutellatus/ PNG Taipan Oxyuranous scutellatus canni. Paupua New Guinea doesn't have the best Antivenin/Antivenom programs like that in Australia.

Snakes are important for controlling the rodents that causes millions of human fatalities from different diseases around the world. They also provide valuable venom for the production of antivenom and medicine for treating Thrombosis,High blood pressure,Pain medication and cancer research purposes for breast cancer. You might even be taking medicine made from snake venom. Remember that the world is a bigger place than one person's fear of snakes . 😊
1
The video you're talking about is two male pitvipers a Cottonmouth and a Copperhead competition for the territory and right to mate with the nearby female pitviper . There's no documented Cottonheads in the wild only bred in captivity.
1
Cottonmouths Agkistrodon picivorous are semi aquatic pitvipers cannibalistic hooked tooth fish eaters and Copperheads Agkistrodon controtix aren't semi aquatic but they can swim like all species of snakes can swim but in the wild Cottonmouths and Copperheads are very different in the habitats which they live, hunt and breed in . There's no documented evidence of any breeding population of Cottonheads in the wild only in captivity .
1
@Miner Of Diamonds boy 5 people have died since 2004 as a result of a copperhead envenomation it depends on if the person has a severe allergic reaction to the venom causing Anaphylaxis.
1
@sirtango1 Could be that Pfizer Laboratory found it more profitable to produce the covid-19 vaccine than antivenin for North American Coral snakes. Either way Jack Facente Venom Laboratory and the Reptile Discovery Center Medtoxin Laboratory Deland Florida Carl Barden are still extracting venom from Micrurus fulvius Eastern Coral snakes for medical research purposes and antivenin.
1
A .02 percent chance of dying from snake bite in the United States with antivenin for snake bite only a .03 percent chance of dying with antivenin in Australia from snake bites where they have 100 species of venomous snakes 12 of which can kill humans quickly with 1 single bite. In India alone approximately 55 thousand humans die each year from snake bites because they live in close proximity to various venomous snakes and don't always have access to antivenin or any other medical treatment. Coral snake antivenin was developed by Wyeth Laboratory in the late sixties and only 1 person has died from a Coral snake bite when treated with antivenin from a Micursus fulvius Eastern Coral snake Elapid family of snakes with neurotoxins bite since the development of antivenin for Coral snakes now manufactured by Pfizer Laboratory Micursus antivenin for all species of North American Coral snakes Eastern, Western and Sonoran desert Coral snakes. ⚕️

Kevin Budden herpetologist captured the first live Coastal Taipan Oxyuranous scutellatus in 1950 and was bitten and died a couple days later. That Snake was flown to Commonwealth Serum Laboratory in Melbourne and leads to the development of CSL Taipan antivenom in 1955 . The Inland Taipan Oxyuranous microlepidtos is a different Taipan species that lives in remote outback of the black soil region of Australia and rarely comes into contact with humans unless they are looking for them. Nobody has ever died from the bites of a Inland Taipan yet thanks to CSL Taipan monovalent/polyvalent antivenom and Kevin Budden.
1
Agkistrodon picivorous aka Cottonmouths and Watermoccasins hunt fish people who claimed to be chased by a Cottonmouth or any type of species of snakes don't understand their behavior and have superstitious beliefs about snakes.
1
North American Coral snake antivenin ( Equine ) - Pfizer Laboratory has been available since 2009 after being purchased from Wyeth Laboratory.
1
@arthurbrumagem3844 Yes it's estimated that 50 percent of their bites are dry bites meaning no venom is injected and 25 percent of pitvipers bites are dry bites on humans. These are defensive bites and behaviors not intended to kill prey.
1
Black Mamba ld 50 0.341 mgkg SC is the 20th most toxic venomous snake and the Agkistrodon picivorous aka Cottonmouths and Watermoccasins aren't even in the top 100 most toxic venomous snakes 25 .8 mgkg SC. One of the least toxic venomous snakes in the US along with the Agkistrodon controtix aka the Copperhead.
1
The nursery rhyme doesn't always work when identifying them in North America due to melanistic, albino and aberrant specimens of Coral snakes. The Sonoran desert Coral snake in the video has red and white banding.
