Still the US can’t refine half of the oil it produces. Maybe the refineries in other countries should impose tariffs on US oil then, so a lot of crude but insufficient refinery capacity will skyrocket prices. As with all investments diversification is the keyword, have oil and gas, have solar, have wind. And you run the lowest risk.

Constitutional is that the additional backbone is the constitution, but don’t forget that the constitution can be amended by the representatives of the public. Democracy can be seen as direct or representative democracy. So not too far off.

  43. So DOGE decides on the payments from the state department by having the capacity to shutter such payments. This is now confirmed. Normally it is the secretary who decides on what to spend, not someone external who controls which payment goes through and which not. It also means unapproved payments can happen. And a 22 year old can execute payments of billions of dollars. it also means that Marco Rubio is not trusted to decide what to execute. I thought all of this news was gaslighting, but this is extremely concerning. No single individual should have the power to push a button to spend billions of taxpayer money.
