@zhongguojiayou2675 the problem is the tension between a central bank and the economical and political agenda of a country. This is not limited to West Africa. Some European member states have transferred their monetary policy to an independent ECB for stability. Guinea-Konacry left the west african central bank, so there is a precedent that no one is forced to stay. Mali left in 1962 but returned in 1984. However, since France is running the operational account and prints the money, some misrepresent this as France being in control of the BECEAO and West Africa. If this service is politically unacceptable, the union could decide to have another country or enterprise assume this role. My main interest is with economic stability and impact of any monetary adventures on the lives of ordinary people. Nobody wants a president using monetary policy for political purposes. That would be catastrophic.

It doesn’t matter. The US has the market, so can decide how to use their market. China would never have grown if not for the US and European markets.
2
Lol, everyone exporting to the EU takes them very serious. Large market and lots of money.

@blcheah2672 no they dont, they had the idea of one currency but China and India do not get along, so BRICS is nice for t-shirts and stickers, not much action ahead. Argentina already left BRICS.

@zhongguojiayou2675 i am the first to acknowledge the disastrous role of the IMF. They force countries to adopt laws to introduce extreme reforms that hurt populations. Look at the crisis of Greece. Many have preferred to go to China, in exchange for some strategic assets unfortunately.

@LuisAldamiz tell me how a fund like Blackrock controls with not more than the typical 5% they hold in many companies? Btw it is not their money, but that of their clients that decide how to set up their portfolio. If the US controls the EU, explain why Apple, google and meta are slapped with billion dollar fines. By doing this the EU actually protects much more people on the planet than in the EU by breaking up monopolistic services. The US completely fails there

@barefoot6745 it will change for sure, but soon? The US and EU hold 75% of global assets. Maybe it will drop to 50% in 50 years from now.

CheckDownCharlie-yf8lu the US mistreats its own people, that is why animals like trump are getting to power. The EU treats its citizens significantly better through health care and social safety nets. The main problem is that the EU is aging and needs schooled labor. They are not as agressive as the US stealing away talent from Africa, but maybe they should. The EU needs African doctors, engineers, nurses which will earn 5-10 times the salary they get in Africa. Those that arrive on boats also have a marginal value for industries relying on manual labor.

It is not even true. The French publicly declared the will not intervene. How much more clear could can they be.

The US and France never threatened Niger. Only the neighbouring countries consider this through Ecowas. Stop spreading fake news. Western powers aren’t fuelling anything except their cars.

@PrimericanIdol when you write such nonsense it shows you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about 😂 they are under influence, but not France. You believe that a nation speaks a remote variety of French. It is France who ‘controls’ them? 😂

@MuantanamoMobile its not taking over, it is a market to dump subsidized American products ruining the Haitian economy.

@zhongguojiayou2675 sure, you are just a little wrong about the ‘French’ CFA. It is controlled by the member states just like the ECB, a lot of misinformation is spread around this like France has a vote or even a veto, but that is simply not true. If the BCEAO would decide to gave the Brits print their money they could to decide to do so. Just like two thirds of countries have their money printed abroad. The biggest three printing companies are in the UK, Germany and Sweden. I recommend watching the interview of Alain Foka with the bank’s governor who clarifies what France’s role is. Just like any central bank stability is its main objective with acceptable inflation rates. This is evident when you compare Ivory coast to Ghana. In May last year Ghana needed an IMF emergency loan or was declared broke. All info you can check on.

@zhongguojiayou2675 the many conflicts are about money and power within countries. Niger is the best case, a conflict between a democratically elected president wanting to cancel the slush fund from oil money for the presidential guard. Hence a coup. But clever as they are they sell it as a popular uprising. They deserve an oscar for a carefully crafted operation.
