Joanna Lei is a prominent political scholar from Taiwan, she has expansive knowledge on cross strait issue, great choice of guest on this very topic. I hope she will start to appear on more international platform to educate international public on this often distorted propagandized topic by the western medias. Thank you. 🙏

  3. Thank you for inviting Joanna Lei, great choice of guest on this topic. I hope Joanna Lei would get invited on other shows as well for broader exposure of her knowledges and experience on Taiwan issue, which has been deliberately misled by US propaganda of war machine. Alternative news outlets like Democracy Now, Judge Napolitano, Breaking Points… etc. Or some mainstream news outlets would also help to get her messages out.

Actually there is more resentment growing among people in mainland toward Taiwan since 2019 HK separatist riots which was supported by Taiwan DPP party, then the Covid Pandemic, how Taiwan DPP government responded to mainland with very cold animosity toward mainland while mainland needed medical masks badly during beginning stage of pandemic, Taiwan government refused and prohibited anyone to send masks to help mainlanders, this is a major drawback why the average mainlanders began to support NOT eliminating military reunification, because they have realized Taiwan people don’t really view mainlanders as closed relatives like brothers and sisters as how mainlanders have always regarded taiwan people as their brothers and sisters. I’m sure Beijing and Xi sensed the growing resentment among the populations, but Beijing officials and Xi REPEATEDLY EMPHASIZED ‘PEACE REUNIFICATION’ is the ultimate goal, BUT they ALSO DON’T eliminate military reunification if ‘necessary’, if DPP moves to declare independence, or if instigated by U.S. violation of ONE CHINA policy… incidents alike.
