I don’t always agree with Kim on China issues, but her statement on this issue can’t be more true, kudos to her keen observations and commentary. When westerners pressing China to change China’s political system to American model of ‘freedom and democracy’, which has always been a disastrous recipe in under developed or developing countries with lower literacy rate and lower economic development. Only when people start living in a more prosperous and stable society, they would have the ‘luxury’ to advance for more changes. America’s constant biggest mistake is forcing others to live and abide by its own political model and value when those countries are either not ready or simply don’t want to blindly follow American values. Kim puts it so right, maybe people just don’t want the change, or they will change when they feel comfortable and ready. If US truly cares about the women and people of Afghans, the least US can do now is to leave Afghanistan alone and don’t put salt on wounds by imposing any damaging economic sanctions embargo that would eventually hurt the Afghan people furthermore.

Stop spreading useless cynical fake news. If Biden or US can learn a few things from China, it’s good for the world, at least less wars.

@045773 “Stop imposing your culture and way of life onto others” Good point, US is infamous for that, now do your part as a conscientious US citizen to tell US government abide by that principle, and the world would be much more peaceful and prosperous. Your trick of reverse accusation on China being the one imposing culture and way of life is pretty low and cheap, like your government. If you don’t hold your US government accountable for the war crimes it committed, you are also complicit to these crimes by defending their crimes.
