  1. Though he said “for 70 years, Taiwan has nothing to do with China”, this is not true at all. Taiwan business men are very active in Mainland, with huge inventive trades with mainland through ECFA, I don’t think Taiwan can survive as well without Mainland, it’s a fantasy Taiwan loves telling that they will be fine without interacting with mainland. Taiwan is not even that ‘politically independent’, politically, Taiwan government is a vassal to serves US interest in the region.

  2. Even though I don’t fully agree with his handling before, but I still respect him for not being a hypocrite, he is consistent with his principle. This is a rude awakening for him. The west embraced him because they want to use him to bash China, not because the west truly believes in principled values they often preached.
