  3. There was quite a bit of Civil disobedience over the lockdowns although depending on the location you may or may not have gotten much. The TVs going to show you what it wants to show you.

  4. I don't know. I think they would prefer to avoid that if at all possible. After all if people start popping off, anybody trying to make an arrest will be viewed no longer is a cop but rather as a thug of the regime. Even the ones that survive could never never be able to go back home and simply live comfortably in a neighborhood that knew what they did. I think it's just for propaganda purposes.

  5. ​ @dantespicysausage9615  if that is what they really want they also know it's a win or die situation. Any shooting that ramps up will snowball. People that weren't thinking about picking up a gun will start to if they see more and more. Historically this is typically the case with revolts. They are rarely planned, they start small and if enough fire catches they get big fast, and there's only two options for an outcome.

  6. I don't know if it would be all but guaranteed, but it would put us on a near precipice. Any wrong moves with tension that high could send the country into turmoil. I do not think they can simply assassinate him because they know that would martyr him.

  8. I think they'll try almost anything before martyring him with assassination. Every US president that has been assassinated has been martyred so far, even if one of them did not deserve the martyrdom we give to him. If they try it it will be their last option, and since he's gotten rid of most of his secret service detail and hired a bunch of his own private security it might be a lot harder for them to pull that off. Not impossible, but much more difficult. It would also stain Biden, and is more likely to cause a civil war than simply an arrest. That might actually get a real capitol storming, and probably a White House storming too. It would be the last option.

  9. The nature of inciting things like that is organic and it's not planned. It generally takes someone to shoot first and then others to follow up. Think of a snowball. In such a situation arises I suggest the NY statues or feds shoot first. People are more likely to snowball if they shoot first. And only a portion of the population is servile. And incitement like that would take a great deal of pressure though. Something more sharp than a Covid tyranny.

  10. Even if DeSantis is compromised in some way that would be the end of this political career in Florida and the GOP. Whether he is in fact malevolent or benevolent (I think it remains to be 100% seen but I have seen some red flags) he is still ambitious and wants to climb at some point in the near or distant future. I don't think you would make that action, if for no other reason than self-preservation.

  12. ​​ @kampfer91  they're certainly going to try. But we're almost certainly going into a deep recession soon. If it's Biden as the candidate or someone Biden adjacent they're going to have a lot harder of a Time not only honking it but it's convincing a down-on-their-luck population that the administration that it is happening under still "won". I really do think we harm ourselves by thinking these people are absolute gods. They have a lot of power but they are not infallible and they have made mistakes. No matter how this ends up it's not over yet, and they know it because they wouldn't be doing this if it was a guarantee for them.
