I won't even vote for the DeSantis in 2028 at this point. He'll never get my vote ever now. He's wasting his clout.

@mexifry222 more specifically Jeb Bush himself.

It's called coat tail riding.

@CocktailsConsoles both of those seem real nice. I do not think Rand Paul would run for president again unfortunately but he is good also.
9
@KillerofGods I very much like Jordan Peterson, but I think they are taking advantage of him. He's never been the same after he got out of rehab. He's vulnerable.
8
And some of it was actually ideas proposed by legislators including the anti grooming bill but he advertised it like it was his own.

Precisely. If someone commits a crime against somebody we don't charge because of motive we charged because of action. Or at least we should.

Posting things on people's property without having their permission is illegal already. Having to be so specific open the doors to a lot more legislation similar later on. Ask for hate crimes: never prosecute because of motive, prosecute because of action. This prosecutes because of motive despite their already being a law four at the prosecutes because of action. The person who posted it would be arrested by the time they figured out the paperwork was signed, because they are looking for speech to arrest for. Nobody would know if someone else put it up without permission before it was already reported as a crime by neighbors. This thing's going to cause countless lawsuits. Edit: when it comes to language "animus" has a wide variety of meaning depending on where you stand. The left has a very wide version of animus which is basically anything they don't agree with. This would make anything deemed offensive a potential for being charged with a hate crime if posted without getting a permit handed out by the government in the form of written consent.

Good thing he has refuted Fuentes repeatedly on his platform. He had to be escorted off his property because he was an uninvited guest Kanye did not announce was coming along with him. But you know this already. This isn't really even about Jews it's about free speech. God you're grasping at straws in the face of the obvious.

Every person of prominence I genuinely like I have disagreements with on issues, including Trump. When someone seems perfect you have to take pause. If it's too good to be true it always is. People are inherently flawed, so perfection perceived is probably a mask.
2
Trump never once did a speech law like this. That was never in Trump's repertoire. There's a difference between having good relationships with Jews, and censoring for them. Florida man is out.
2
Lockdowns he never committed because he didn't have the power to do so, and warp speed which we supported at the time but ended up being bad in hindsight, plus he was never in the labs. Yeah... Nah. You're grasping at straws that are slipping.

Also includes things you could wear in public places like colleges. That's in there.
1
Not much. At this point it is just an excuse used to tyrannize. A lot of us likes edgy jokes but that's about it. All we want is for no one group to be held up on a pedestal.
1
@nerthus4685 I don't remember a free-speech issue. Trump can be friendly with Jews but he doesn't censor for them. One is fine the other is not. This is uniquely DeSantis. This is uniquely Bushite.
1
Warp speed never restricted freedom. In hindsight it was an ill-advised scientific funding, but it was the governor's that did the lockdowns and coerced. It is objectively worse. It violates the first Amendment. I don't have to like the speech but it needs to be defended otherwise all speech is at threat.
1
They already have laws against that. Now this prosecutes motive and with malleable language when it comes to what may be offensive. The left love malleable language because it makes it easy. We don't need laws that prosecute motive if we already have laws for prosecuting actions already in place. A slippery slope for future legislation if I ever saw one, and depending on the cop you get and the agenda of the person reporting you, there could be violations galore. This thing is just waiting to be exploited. This isn't a littering law, it's a speech it's a speech law. Normally they would just get the littering penalty but now they would be a felon because the litter happened to be something that someone didn't like.
1
We don't need anti-hate speech bills we just need to prosecute for crimes committed against individuals regardless of motive. Hate speech laws are a slippery slope.
1
This. Being able to insult every group even if it's not friendly to do so actually makes people safer strangely enough. People grow thicker skins if you are allowed to say mean things. Thicker skins eventually end up breaking down barriers anyway.
1
@pm5206 it is one of many, but this is enough and to a great degree. I don't want this approved at a federal level by having a version of it signed. But I won't be convincing you.
1
@haydencapps never suffered one of these things to pass. Trump is friendly with certain demographics which is fine I guess, but he has never censored for them. And this goes even farther than anti-semitism combatting.
1
Are you telling me he's so incompetent he didn't read it? I view him as shifty but not dumb. Though I think he has some strategic ineptness.
1
This. This right here. 💯
1
@galerussell1710 career politicians l, yes. Mavericks no
1
Everything that they classify as a hate crime is already a crime. I don't care why they didn't you should just get punished for the crime you did regardless of motive. Classifying things as hate crimes is a slippery slope. We don't charge people for motive in this country, or at least we shouldn't.
1
That usually takes people putting up a fuss for the courts to notice it.
1
No it is just how we have been dealing with things that has been wrong. This bill is wrong.
1
Even if it's thrown out it will take years to get there should they decide to even touch it. Floridians have a better chance of trying to override it then it doesn't reaching the Supreme Court within 5 or 10 years.
1
@alsamuef you mean Cheney who he endorse the opponent of and Paul Ryan who he constantly blasts? You're grabbing at straws.
1
Trump backed off on the bump stock ban, after the court got involved in his own base reacted badly. He listened and readjusted his agenda and has never gone towards bump stocks again like a good populist should if they listen properly. FBI has a habit of corrupting people very quickly because it is a bureaucratic enforcement arm by design. Fauci had been employed by the government for decades before him and had to come to the fore because it was his job in the first place. Trump eventually got combative with Fauci when it turned out that he wasn't about helping people. You are literally looking for any reason without context. This is sad. You've been duped. Derangement do the propaganda has blinded you. I blame the neocons who tricked you.
1
God I hope not. That would be just as bad as this if that is true.
1
I'm not going to go so far as to say the worst people on earth support him I just think many people may have been tricked. Even I have supported many things he has done. Turning at the red flags I was sensing were in fact legitimate though.
1
If someone finds it offensive then yes.
1
Don't choke on your black pill on the way out. You were never going to make a difference here anyway with that attitude.
1
I don't think it will die with him because I think he has multiple people he could pass on the torch to. A select few that have some viability. Maga is Trump for now, but he was only ever an avatar of a populist movement l, and avatars change hands.
1
Even if they were to pick it up it would probably take a few years.

@realdonaldtrump8833 I'll pick principal over winning every time. Of course, the only way Biden can run it through a honking but that is beside the point. I don't want to cast my vote vote for he next new George w Bush upend all the good that has taken place within the GOP since 2016 by returning to the pre-2016 standard. Any idiot can do something for a win. Not everyone has principles, even if they're not always consistent, they try. I'm not going to shoot myself in the foot just because I want to see Biden go down.
1
@pm5206 then there is no reason for a new law.
1
Actually the governor of Iowa also one by about 20%. But they don't push her forward because she's already endorsed the current frontrunner.
