  1. Modern liberals wear liberalism is a skin suit. They are far from the original classical liberal that actually has merit. The founders were essentially classical liberals. The maga movement is generally classically liberal (although I can tell many people don't realize it). The average conservative is more close to classical liberal than the average left winger in America these days. The true historical definition of "liberal" is largely forgotten in America I'm afraid however. Technically the "liberals" from the 90s and early 2000s weren't liberal either.
