So often the case. It's not that hair dye is inherently woke.. it is that the type person in terms of maturity and mental stability that is more likely to do crazy things to their appearance is the type of person who would be insecure enough to be drawn to it.

"Equity" in their words. Ugh

@reverenddick8562 one way or the other many of the unstable eventually got their bright colors. It was going to happen. The stereotype fits eight or nine times out of ten because that is the kind of person that style tends to attract.

@pale_saint it does not always apply to white people. In the end it is something to do with class (race, sex, orientation etc). Much of it is aimed with vitriol at white people, but that does not necessarily mean that is the core philosophy of it. The only reason there is any anti whiteness implanted in it at the moment, is because of the kind of demographics and past history there has been that the cultural marxists thought they could use to exploit to carry out their agenda. Depending on the situation it could easily be anti any race. It is all about how in the area they want to implement it in is suitable for their needs.

Referring to the orange man as a person of color? That would be a fun way to take their "person of color" term away from them. What, do they have problems with strong empowered orange people? 😂

I think the word woke is being used a little too liberally by us against it. We need to settle on a specific definition. If we use that word to describe everything the left is doing, without making sure it is in fact specifically "woke" instead of just something people on the right do not approve of, we could dilute our argument and eventually it will backfire on us.

It's why so many unruly teenagers and college kids join in. They want to be part of some great struggle because they have yet to actually experience any struggle. They're trying to find meaning but are finding it in the wrong place. In a way it's sad.

You nailed that down well. Current conservatives in America share much more in common with classical liberalism than the self-professed "liberals" on the left do. In reality the farthest right you can get is anarchist in the farthest left you can get is absolute authoritarianism such as fascism, socialism and communism. The best spot to be would be solidly right but not anarchist far right. Humans are paradoxical in the fact that they desire both absolute freedom and absolute order. The best we can do is a balance of both wear when push comes to shove freedom takes precedence.

Very nice. So long as we are not using it on every single thing we don't like but our objective about it it cannot backfire on us. Some people are just using it on everything that is left wing and that is a mistake.

Anarchy never lasts long anyway. Humans will always forge order out of chaos. We just need to be careful what order is forged out of it, because usually the aftermath of anarchy is tyranny. Most of antifa is dumb enough to believe they really do oppose the corporation's while they are being played like puppets

An excellent assessment. So that brings to mind the phrase "good times create weak men". Perhaps wokeness can only truly make any headway in society at the end of a fourth turning. Best beat it before the turning ends

I think both are good. Styx knows the fundamental root of it. The drinker is presenting how we should probably approach it objectively without using it on everything like hot sauce so that it doesn't backfire on us and return by calling everything we don't like "woke". If we use "Woke" on everything it will just like their equivalent of saying everything we do is "Far right". Use it on everything and it will backfire. Look at it objectively first determine if it is woke or not by its method and application, and THEN act. Not everything left is woke, but all wokeness is on the left (more specifically the father left).

I wouldn't necessarily say that the Marxist ideology behind it ever had a good intentions, but I think many of the fools who follow it absolutely do have good intentions and are just being lead by snakes.

@Shapes_Quality_Control I think Mary Sue is a lot more defined. There's a list of about 30 different traits that more or less have a cohesive theme. You kind of get the idea what a Mary Sue is. Sort of a plastic, perfect and unreal person. Woke however has been used quite a bit more and often inaccurately. I think the critical drinker did a good job summing up why we need to be more specific. Styx has the right idea with the core fundamentals of what it actually is rooted in, but the drinker put out how we should approach determining what is and is not woke without tripping ourselves up. Not all left-wing is woke, but all wokeness is left-wing (more specifically Marxist). We don't want to this pendulum to swing back at us now that it is in our favor.

@TrumpyBear_Armageddon it's way beyond that dude. Technically wokeness could stil be exactly the same if you simply switched "white" out with any other race. We just happened to be in the timeline where white as what it is being used against. In the end it's not about being anti any race it's about social Marxism. Wokeness can be used as a weapon between the black community and Hispanic community: the one who will have the upper hand as the one that is viewed as the most disadvantaged. In that case they don't even need to bring up the word "white" to be woke. It's not about race at its core it's about method. Race is only on the face of it.

@TrumpyBear_Armageddon but it isn't hypothetical because we have examples of it based on different communities. It also isn't exclusively confined to simply race. It can be applied to any differences in society that has to do with class outside of wealth: race, sex, orientation, handicap... The list goes on and on. Think of any way you could divide up the social structure into groups and wokeness has a way in. It is cultural Marxism pure and simple, and it will use whatever demographic, circumstances or situation available at the time to try and flip things on its head. It's not hypothetical.
