@RandyHill-bj9pc That's the thing. You never know where new endeavors lead to. He wanted to go to Mars but on the way of doing that created Starlink, which has obvious utility for many humans. We don't know what else they will invent on the way to Mars, but likely candidates are new ways of (efficiently) cultivating plants, maybe new ways of communication (due to the minutes long time-lag between earth and Mars).

@owenlouisdavid We don't need Gold. In case you didn't notice we can just print more money out of thin air. The availability of more money (or Gold) is not a problem.
