  2. Somewhat accurate though. Few days ago I had gcc segfaulting. I use LibreOffice but it's significantly slower than Excel on medium complexity spreadsheets. Then you check open source bug reporting portals and the abuse that users sometimes get from devs is unthinkable in a commercial setting. I still think open source is good and there are many useful projects but it often takes forever to implement needed features (like you could wait a decade if no dev is personally interested in your feature). Basically speed of innovations is turtle speed but you can't beat getting stuff for free. Device manufacturers massive benefit from Linux being free. Hyperscalers too.
