  1. It's not too late to start skiing at 30. Actually I recommend snowboarding - it's much easier (except maybe for the first day) and it feels quite different - more like endless surfing on snow. I started snowboarding in my 30ies - I had previous beginner level skiing experience from high school times.

  3.  @nirfz  I wouldn't be surprised if more nature gets destroyed in Austria by ski slopes than wind farms. Wind farms don't need much area. In fact those that are in the plains are often in farm fields (e.g. in Pannonia, west of Vienna).

  4. So how did you handle the issue of alignment and approach of a blade and the nose under windy conditions?

  5. Austria is a very beautiful country - lived there for a decade. Plan for at least 2 weeks, if you go there.
