  3. Why are Austrialians not just building their own houses? Like with their hands? I mean not 100% of it - you certainly need trades people to do the important stuff but certainly there must be a way.

  6. Well, right now we are already in labor shortage over here. We need: bus, train, and truck drivers, nurses (lots), shop clerks, waiters, software engineers, trades people (esp. electric), teachers (esp. MINT). Boomers are retiring en masse (some of them early) so I don't expect a labor glut anytime soon.
