Well you must make an ok income otherwise how could you pay off a house and car? Whatever you bills they must cost less than you made to afford to buy access to other things beside just the basics.... At some point the math has to add up.....
6
Your right on about retail!!!! Yeah like every week the days I worked changed!!!! Not a problem but can't take care of anyone except myself when I don't know far in advance or don't always have a consistent schedule.
6
@turdfurgeson2032 Yeah no lie. Unhappy with good options beats unhappy or happy without them!!!
5
@rorygilmorelove6 But people like you I give credit too because you tell the truth however people like the video creator try and make it sound like it is behavioral while almost always of it is math!!!
5
But you see as far as I can tell her income did not shoot up either!!!! I alway say having income that grows is worth more than saving money and rate of return!!!!
4
Yeah but you cheated or lived with or off others which means you had more buying power than minimum wage.
4
Why would any tell people to just quit their job(s) when many of them need to be employed? Thing to suggest getting an income or condition changes might be more helpful because without money how is anything supposed to work. BTW this lady has a join button and so that begs the question if she is looking for tips on the sly since she never explained the real difference between a tip and her having a join button on her channel.
3
WHY YOU ASK FOR TIPS IN PATREON? How can you think "tipping culture is out of control" yet you ask for tips for yourself?
3
@AccordingtoNicole Well no people who explain their thinking and also admit their luck are more likely going to explain away some of their issues.... IF I say well yeah frugal made this or that more likely and faster but the real reason was math and conditions... I am admitting decisions only factored into outcome and they by themselves are not the only reason why.... It just seems easier to explain stuff etc....
3
Well!!! Nicole your an example of someone who has more than others hence why I suspect people watch your channel..... I am self aware enough to know if I talk about having more money or "stuff" than others many online will listen to me because they think I know something or maybe will tell them how they also can.....
3
Don't you yourself put in enough hours to be literally working a 9 to 5 job Yourself? If so how can you even think of a 9 to 5 job as ruining lives when you work the equivalent of one yourself? CAN'T TAKE ADVICE SERIOUS WHEN THE CREATOR THEMSELVES DOES NOT DO IT!!!!!
3
GUYS SHE IS EIEHTER LYING OR NOT TELLING THE FULL STORY BECAUSE HER NUMBERS HAVE HOLES IMO!!!!! YEAH IMO SHE HAD SOMETHING SPECIAL GOING ON AT MINIMUM!!!
3
@Tamarocker88 Yeah for some reason possibility people don't like seeing limitations when it comes to math and probabilities IMO.....
2
@Tamarocker88 Much of the issue could be solved if people who create financial content would show their numbers or rough numbers throughout the process.... Like for real they have all this stuff to say but can't be bothered to explain with numbers why it worked?
2
Your telling the truth... BUT SEE NICOLE is an example of the amount of money matters otherwise why bother making more and more videos?
2
IF she lives in Canada she likely does not have fix rate mortgage so she likely can't live a life and afford a standalone home!!! WTF she has had a ton of help yet still decides not to buy a ton of stuff.....
2
@malayaanderson8222 People working for some companies have to either take it or leave it when given offers. With many jobs people can't set their price but have to either accept the price offered. The issue with that idea is that we can do what we want but as long as there are things people have to pay for that can't be the situation at all. People working jobs that pay little are likely forced to because they can't afford to make nothing either. In he majority of states people who want assistance have to jump through hoops to get it depending on what type and level of support. Why talk bad about people wanting tips anyway when many that work are doing so because they have too?
2
@AccordingtoNicole It is about money with cards because they have an interest rate.... Second self control can't solve numbers issues when those numbers have a fix amount or type of stuff they can buy. Third having a credit card is important for things like car rental, airline bookings, and hotel reservations..... so no people need a credit card even if it is a secure credit card!!
2
You don't think with fast food and dollar stores having problems people are not already aware as a group of how expensive it is to buy just the basics? Dude prior to Covid housing cost over 1/3 of my income!!!
2
Well but your 61 not 31..... So odds are your housing cost compared to income was a better ratio. Think about this making 60K while good housing is at 150K so that is about 1-3 ratio while now people make 60K yet median house is a 400K. Don't think there is any more that needs to be said!!!
2
Yeah no lie but just think about how many don't have 10K to 20K to save for YEARS!! People like that don't bother looking at numbers!!!!
2
You don't think she is suggesting saving $38 per day? Even so the whole idea is crazy compared to median incomes IMO!!!
2
@MarokoJin The issue it the how and why's as to why it worked or did not. These finance YouTubers tend to be less than honest about how conditions outside of their control helped them get where they were. Cheating leaching and mooching to achieve results is not an issue if people tell the truth.
2
Yep people like her don't always talk about insurance but thing is she seems to have been super lucky from the start.
2
She is not about to do something totally different and risk not getting paid....
2
Why do you think that make sense? She had the right conditions to get stuff done and her priorities are what they are. Many economies need people to spend to keep them working....
2
@Missy-Missy1111 I would say that with factors one can't control yeah the situation is not as simple as some of these YouTubers make it seem!!!!
2
Don't worry she and Erin Talks Money are not doing SH*T for the viewers so your joke might have some truth to it!!!! These types don't do anything but focus on making more money which mean the views don't benefit because they don't make anything watching their videos... It is totally not their fault but the situation is crazy and their suggestions often require other things than what they suggest!!
2
@desb3459 Why is he worried about her success.... her hustles working means she can avoid issues maybe but everyone will not have hustles that work.... We can't all get stuff otherwise who is there to buy?
2
She is like that other dude Autin who live off others while making good incomes.... I mean nothing wrong with taking advantage of an advantage but to save money requires excess money not needed for anything else. So no she is a nothing without the right conditions and circumstances.... F advice from people who had advantages to be in the situation they ended up in!!!!!
2
Yeah theses YouTubers like the more extreme....... Why not just be honest and gain our trust showing the numbers?
2
Yeah I don't understand people like her either? Why not make sure you offer a service and then give them the option of tipping because you think the price should be all you get? You have a 20K channel why ask for donations and not just use your own advice?
2
What we need to hear from someone who herself did not do it all on her own? WTF .... that is like me saying everyone can live on X while I leach off others and can survive on Y? How can you know anything when you both had and used advantages that many others if they had access too would not need "advice" of that type? NO WE NEED OK INCOMES VS. EXPENSES NOT MORE USELESS ADVICE. Intentions are not always bad but let's be real some have/ don't have the incomes!!!
2
@thetruthergirls Yep with her none of this makes any sense!!!!!
2
You know as low as she made but leached off others low.... Yeah she seems like a former DR*G addict with all these abstract ideas that are not explained.
1
What purpose does she really have though? And yeah you don't think she spends hours making videos taking about money but did not bother to monetize it? She even seems to live in her own world in terms or realizing how much the majority don't make and can't afford!!!!
1
@TheLicewine I don't think channels can exist without impulse viewing!! LOL
1
@colleenmarin8907 As far as I can tell she grew up working poor but not totally destitute poor. Second she live with others to cut cost.... And no she like Austin from another channel at the same time outpace expenses.... Again she have multiple factors helping her get it done. Minimalism on it own is worthless without again math and conditions. Many online who grew up poor either caught huge breaks OR were just working poor.....
1
@bridge7528 No maybe not now but I was talking about in the past..... Also she is quickly not talking the advantages if afforded her just to make sure her audience knows her outcome required outside intervention. As far as I know she bought a house and at her age range that is quite unusual!!!
1
@tinh_lai_ivietnam5253 Dude the stats suggest otherwise... You mean to tell me we have people not able to pay their bills because they can't save? WTF 1K in savings a month is multiple times what the vast majority can afford based on median data IMO.... I mean all I have to do is compare the stats!!! The vast majority of single income earners I know are saving at most $500 a month..... SO what you talking about?
1
@Tamarocker88 Well lets just look at current numbers.... ok so median numbers per person per family suggest to me 51% of the population is not saving anywhere close to 9K after all expenses per year!!!! You know how we know this? Because the median (most common) bank data checking (cheque) /savings accounts suggest no more than a few hundred per month and not anywhere close to $800!!!! In my experience when what should be possible is not happening something must be going on....
1
@derekgleue3679 Dude there is a huge difference between saving a few dollars and the hundreds of dollars many of the "finance" YouTubers save .... Also many in finance don't do stuff by themselves which is not bad the cheap can't make up for what people don't generate IMO!!!! Example $600 a month can't compete with $2,000 a month GAME OVER!!
1
How do you know how amazing she is/ or is not without knowing all the details? Notice she does not list the factors in her favor and the numbers that allowed for those results!!
1
I don't think loosing will power doing something once a month makes any sense!!! I think a treat multiple times a week was the right argument.
1
@paddymurphy-oconnor8255 Well not so sure but again I doubt people who create these videos are only making $5.00 a day so... I try to be practical and telling people to save $5,00 a day will not save the majority of people with that amount being less than $2,600 per year!!!
1
But we also might have to assume her math does not work because she had more than $12 an hour working a second job or with overtime.... See I used to make $9 at one job and $9 at another but when worked 60 to 70 hours a week it comes to $12 an hour!!!! So assuming the same for her she could make $12 but ends up with like $15 and spending cheap she could easlily end up with 15K PER YEAR !! Or about 90K after 6 YEARS!!!
1
@rosskennedy1960 No that seems difficult I just don't buy she did not have more money or another source of income... I agree it is not easy to do a ton with very little!! But I also suspect her prices for many things were lower than the assumptions we both made....
1
@AccordingtoNicole Either customers pay higher prices or people have to pay higher prices in the form of tips. I can't see why or how customers are not the ones paying one way or another...
1
If you can't afford to loose money why not just not invest? I mean if I can't afford stuff IMO I probably should not buy it.
1
Well but she also had the right environment to be able to do stuff too.... I know because my broke roommates could not pay 2K a year for rent, utilities, and internet access per year!!!! WTF are people talking bout many factors go into outcomes.
