Well the employee could have just left instead of worrying about safety concerns... With that line of work the whole adventure is full of serious danger. I know fishermen and they even say the ocean is dangerous and as far as I know they don't even dive!!!!

Tax payers spend money of non rich and non selfish people too. Any emergency service should be tax payer funded.

They don't even to seem to be profitable yet so how easy is it to design a sub able to do what they were attempting?

Well what options do they have even if they know? The other sub is not easy to locate or track nor is it attached to anything.... But for real subs are dangerous anyway!!

It cost to do everything so they have to consider the cost even with regard to safety....

@ZachSwena I don't even think a non expert could point out "compromises" in the "fundamental mission design." When I have to sign a document I agree to whatever happens afterwards otherwise why did I sign? By signing I have agreed to take the risk because with every document I signed I knew there had to be risk involved......

@ZachSwena While that might all be true with subs there are so many know way to die I can't help but think they all knew they might not make it!!! And when they signed they were saying they might not survive. Also it is all new stuff so safety can't be known yet.

@ZachSwena Well agin true but it is not simple to do because there are not a ton of companies offering the dive. I say if I sign something I signed it so I should have know the risk.

@ZachSwena The got on knowing the risk so I say how can anyone question anything since they also signed and go on to the sub. If anything was unclear ok maybe but otherwise they knew it was seriously dangerous. The last risk disclosure document I signed I knew the result could be in serious doubt but that was what my signature told them....

He means the risk taking is not for many not if they get lost why not see if they can't be located..... Depending on how funding works the mnoey not being spent may create more of an issue...... I know for some grants if the money is not spent the grant writers think they should either write a smaller grant next time or just not write one at all!!

@NCTess I don't see trying to find them as being super risky because they will likely use remote stuff to try and locate them. Well the ocean is risky for anyone so the searchers likely don't mind the risk in part because they train for it.

@NCTess My moms brother was a Navy pilot doing the Persian gulf war and even I know if he had to try and find someone he has the training to do so. I can't have a problem with him having to do what his job ask of him because he signed up for that job. Everything works because with so many jobs people do what is asked of them. You can thank her for me.

The 19 year old likely signed the risk disclosure document also so if he did not know before he should have know afterwards!!! I think they go on because in the past it had worked!!
