  1. Well, I see no reason to think this. Even Cathy Young, perhaps Woody's staunchest supporter in the media, doesn't think she's lying either. Some times we see what we want to see. There's no real smoking gun in her performance.

BUT, I think that when there appears to be two sides to the story, and the fact that not even children are immune from coaching (think McMartin pre-school daycare panic) we should not be so arrogant as to demand absolute obedience to anyone's claim. You are asking people to be omniscient. I am flattered by the thought. But a single accusation by one child, no matter how credible, and up against at least a plausible alternate narrative (see Cathy Young,) is not in principle knowable. Sensible and fair-minded folk, even those whose default position is to believe woman, have a right to leave some room for doubt. This is very different than Cosby/Weinstein/Epstein, etc, where we have multiple claims. I wish I were omniscient like you. But I can't claim that level of perfection.

  4. Hard to know. In the HBO videotape, time stamped the very the next day, Mia sounds completely gentle and not putting words in Dylan's mouth. I don't think it's likely she got Dylan to cling to a story within just 24 hours. But who can know for sure.
