  1. I think some people are conflating very bad behavior with criminality. My take is, with an age difference of just 2 1/2 years, some people are effectively just criminalizing the concept of teenage sex. Enough is enough. IMO. In many states the age difference clause would rule out statutory rape. But when the momentum of ganging up on a scummy person gets far enough, we see this avalanche of hatred that runs rough shod over basic common sense. Of course he MAY have raped her, but the jury had every right to find reasonable doubt.
