Well, but if she was still in the middle of a seizure maybe she couldn't. I don't know if the sentence is too harsh. I understand the anguish of the family. But when I hear anyone say, as did one of the family, they feel great joy that Perera will be suffering for the rest of her life. OK, it's totally understandable. But gaining joy from anyone's suffering seems ultimately a flaw in human nature, even though we all have thoughts like that.
