  3. I think this has become true gradually over several decades. We now effectively have corporate medicine: doctors routinely accepting lavish lunches from drug companies, refusing to diagnose people unless their symptoms are glaring, not knowing anything outside their specialty, and doctors doing multiple surgeries at the same time. It's very sad. And if they can't find what's ailing you, too often jump to the conclusion it's psychological. They always LOVE to diagnose mental illness.
