To a degree, yes. The main problem for me is 1) The felony rule, which thumbs its nose at proportionality. 2) The lack of a robust proof Travis shot out of malice. Yes, there's a chance these men were not acting out of hate. But it's hard to believe when you read their racists texts and social media posts, or Greg yelling at Arbery to stop "or I'll blow your f-ing head off." And none of the three doing anything to try and save Arbery's life after he lay dying. Especially if you are a police officer. But I agree these men have been turned into symbols of the entire history of southern racism. It's as if they were on a par with Hitler.

@rachelrivas6245 I think I would make an exception for Bryan. He didn't come close to malice murder. We shouldn't lose all sense of proportion just because of our own hate.
