  1. Labrie is no one's role model, and I feel for the victim if that's what really happened. But if in a court of law you are found not guilty of rape, that should be the end of it. Prosecuting teen sex when you already know the alleged victim, and are only a few years older, is in need of reform. That's why many states now have an age-difference clause, in recognition of the absurd spector of calling teen sex rape. Is Labrie really a dangerous person? Not unless millions of other teens are as well.

  2.  @laurenpage3548  I agree with you. But here, the jury found him not guilty of 1st degree rape or whatever it's called. I have my doubts about the truth of the matter too. You can never be too sure. To me, he paid his price as his reputation will be with him for life. Sex offender registry is ridiculous IMO. cheers

  5. OK, how do we really know Labrie is dangerous? If as you point out, not all teen sex is rape, then how does this follow given the non guilty verdict of the main rape charge? And believe me I am no supporter of him in particular.

  6. I concur with the author who wrote, years ago, that this is just a continuation of a chronic misuse of the island. It's a unique natural resource and would be more logical if it became the centerpiece of the Boston Harbor Islands State Park. If it were so today, would anyone advocate taking it down? I cannot believe that this is the only viable place to build a homeless shelter. More controversially, could both coexist given how large the island is?
