  1. Rape culture means "the prevailing attitude" that rape is normal. "there are people out there like him who don't get it" does not show we live in a rape culture. That's what gets me. There are a thousand and one attitudes out there about rape. Some of them conform to the theme of rape culture, while many others are robustly "anti-rape culture." Unless you do a scientific tally, you can't just provide a few case studies and say "there's the proof." Either show that "rape culture" is the dominant culture. Or change the f---ng definition of rape culture to something less ambiguous, without the pretentious wording like "normative," or be more modest and less arrogant. Over-the-top formulations cooked up by academic feminism are easily discernible by these extravagant features. If you speak about rape culture, you must include the Brock Turner case, which caused a national outrage; or this man himself, who went to jail for 9 years. Is that supposed to be rape culture? This is the problem with this sanctimonious alarmist terminology. It serves to confuse people, since most people see rape as extreme, and not normal. It insults our intelligence. And that cannot be a good thing.
