  1. Very good ideas. What you are asking for is nothing less than a significant transformation of a seemingly ingrained part of human nature. In essence wouldn't it be nice if we were all like Ted Koppel (OK, maybe he's not your favorite) or Kofi or whomever. Big challenge. If you read people like Steven Pinker, and many others who think along similar frequencies, we have been seeing very gradually over the centuries, especially in the West, a movement away from violent norms, at least on some level, and towards growing sensitivity to violence. Maybe one day we will further evolve to encompass greater empathy, which I think is at the base of what you're talking about.
