@harveysmith100 It doesn't matter what their safety record is. Boeing also has a good safety record. Safety records don't prove anything. That's why we have accident investigation.

@cccc9911 You have no idea if the plane is not part of the problem. Boeing just announced a software fix that could take months. What do you know that they don't?

@madeinchina1450 We have some ridiculous policies in the US. One of them is the FAA: dual mandate to both promote commercial aviation, and also to regulate safety. One could not imagine a more morally bankrupt concept. The FAA has been losing its marginal credibility for years now witness their foot dragging over Allegiant Air. cheers

Ardent Fan and now, suddenly, they are talking a 3-6 month fix for the hardware. It's so disgraceful and duplicitous to act as if there's no reason for concern yesterday, then all of a sudden announce a huge problem. Who are they kidding? They used to make great airplanes. The new Boeing just barely escaped disaster with their 787, and now this. It's a shame.

@cccc9911 Hard to say what role is bigger yet, but maybe you have access to info I don't. A lot depends on how prominent the training is supposed to be. It seems the upsets happen so quickly pilots don't have time to trouble shoot; you would have to have the correct procedure basically memorized in advance. In any case, something somewhere has gone very wrong.
