@JJONNYREPP : The banks are closed, cos nobody is putting the money used back to the local banks, so... when there are so many foreign investments etc.. And many of that, is our export money as well.. or remittances from ex-employees of the UK... they send money home. So therefore, the UK has no money left to recirculate.. and is forced to print. This is what is going on. And the issue now is also that, the same thing is being done with Europe as well with the Euro. People assume that, using one single currency is fantastic.. but they are manipulating the ratios a lot as well... So the individual person feels "I am more wealthy than before".. but they are not taking a good look and taking care on how they impact their neighbours as well. THAT is another issue ! And so many people see the EU... as an actual "government of their own".. Which is wrong. This is the wrong approach !!!

East End used to have LOTS of actual... people from abroad... and the ex-commonwealth countries.. and this report is WRONG. The way they say that, these people are treated.. as in.."poverty"... Er... NO.... Because the exchange rates favour them as well. If they flew in goods to sell.. at a reasonable price, they just make even ?? So don't try and gentrify those location so much that, they are then forced to pay for the property and not the land? Many of those lands and housing were paid off already in the previous generation !!! This is a misnomer ! So... those families, SHOULD indeed use their existing prices... and everything to stay reasonable.. or to up their import etc. This is whereby the UK government needed to step in !!! If there are small niche contracts to be signed, then so be it. It is precisely because, people don't see the old Commonwealth model.. and they embrace this weird globalisation model.. and people aren't even playing ball. And the same with immigration as well... An Indonesian is allowed to work in the UK for around 16k... but their take home currency is actually 55 million rupees... Now, who is dealing with this issue here? EU is not dealing with this at all. They don't care. They are not even raising this up for questioning !!!! the amount of bureacracies.. and "deals" locking these cities down, to stop people from thriving. I think, some people do good by their communities. They plant fruits and veggies as well.. and they keep going... so that everybody is fed...

@cosmincoco3679 : The issue with the UK and the EU is not because there is no food. It is because of powerplay. i.e. Country A in the EU could tell you to go away.. and that, what you produce, need to go to them etc. And then, it needs to be at a set price ? And then... another place.. could be using the benefits.. i.e. They would take the money from country B.. and then live and spend it in country C... So this is why.. UK is down.. And the UK government tried to close all those loops.. so that it is survivable ? Lots of people have ran off from this country already. And this is why so many immigrants, thought that this was a chance to come in ? But many doesn't pay the taxes though. They remit them back. i.e. They don't stay. They have no intention to stay. So the cycle goes round...

This is really disgusting ? Because, I recently left Glasgow on a short trip. And I could see, just as much of the various "growing income"... but.. where is the basic amenities? A lot of shops are closed. And if the top end of people doesn't spend, then it doesn't spend ? And the bottom end of the people, aren't the farm owners or the food producers. And these kind of food banks, are often actually.. even more expensive... They are super expensive down South here, cos people aren't doing their pricing and costing properly either. So... Why so many tins ? When we joined the EU, we slowly integrated that wealth together, and everybody had a stake in society. Netherlands grew a lot of vegetables for us. I didn't see as many tins. And when the UK farms slowly closed up as well. Instead of building houses, in old locations to knock down and rebuild. They were built on farm lands ! And now that we have brexited, and many more items do not reach us... where is the health level ? A lot of farms in the UK are also actually NOT selling to UK consumers as well. Why ? Cos they signed deals and merged their farms together with EU ones, and they try to sell at a higher price point. And even that itself is an issue... playing and offsetting the pricing of food. Which it should be low, but it goes up quite a lot. These owners and companies, doesn't want to make a loss any more... and yeh, they need to make more money, in order to subsidise the rest of the EU !!!!! Meanwhile... the farmers.. in the UK, most of their kids have gone onto universities... and actually reduced the size of farming. Even the hospitality sector... there aren't those small but local farms.. and local city farms.. or charities.. nobody is doing those any more, as a safety net. It didn't take long, did it ? The city that I reside in... I have seen lots of people moved away, cos they too are scared that, there isn't the business.. and they don't get the prices.... and doesn't want to drop the food prices. So then, they up and leave to an even bigger city ! I don't know if people realises what is going on....

You could be living near a farm... and they could be producing food.. but you are not allowed to buy it from them directly. And no, you cannot even be jealous about that either. It's like THAT. Messed up ? A lot. The funny thing is... a lot of people, would use "AI" to show where all the "food bank" exists in the UK. But nobody has made a map.. of ALL the farms in the UK ? They SHOULD make it so !!! So therefore, lots of suppliers, know who to go to and why !!! You would think that people would work together, wouldn't you ??....

I don't want to sound rude.. but even that Director... why is she doing these kind of bureacratic score keeping, and why is nobody doing the farming ? Or the food production and the farm's supply chain ? UK now have one of the BIGGEST company in food production. Compass. They supply a LOT of food to the likes of Wetherspoons.. as well as the likes of supermarkets etc. So how come, Ireland, another food producer... isn't even selling into the UK as well ? Well.. they too are using a LOT of energy... to send in over a tiny tiny small bag. If this was sold locally, and removed all bureacratic elements, like operational computers, and whatever whatever... THEIR prices would drop like a tonne of bricks. And then they could be sold at a reasonable price point for locals !!! Sell only excess ! How come countries like Japan, does not sell abroad ? They feed the locals first, who could be just down the road... from them... and not to sell abroad. They are allowed to fish locally, allowed to send in their boats to trawl in the fish... They sell locally first, even before sell regionally or nationally. Japan only sell abroad when they have increased production and excess... not a given.
