@laurencechan470 : You need to know that... the Qing dynasty... they were the mongolians and manchurians. The original Hans... were from the Song dynasties... and a few genuine Hans chinese are left inside China. Many individuals today, are actually mixed race. Mixed with mongolians (Qing dynasty)... and also koreans (Jin dynsty).... The last few ruling genuine Hans chinese were (Ming dynasty) And (Song dynasty). This is why.. when "Taiping Rebellion".... (太平 - 天國 - 運動 = Pacific - Heavenly Kingdom - Exercise ) took place... it was a clash of the Pacific (meaning, those from outside of China, the foreigners).... or the fight about the foreign trades... basically. I now get why... some people, like, the genuine cantonese and Ming's people.. literally would have second wives.. or mistresses in hope to continue to expand their own legacies. Cos frankly... why shouldn't they live as genuine chinese, and on their own turfs any more ?? And today, in Malaya... and SE Asian... so many people are now.. they intermarried with those local tribes. And aren't even chinese any more. Even if they have Hans Chinese names. What he said in the story is wrong. Cos it was punti that had land owner rights. Why do I say that ? Cos each village represents an actual family unit. Especially with the head of the family be house owner etc. That is why you can find a cluster of villages. They are all relatives. Why do I say that they own the land and the farms ? Cos those lands are gifted to them by their fathers before. And therefore would farm them to feed their own family first before actually pay or give to the family communal pool. For taxes etc. And why do they own that land ? Their ancestors would've been one of the imperial academics or other that would be given lands to settle on. And there are categories of actual civil servants etc. Therefore the whole system works. You can't just walzt into another turf or patch of land that isn't yours.... the thing which kicked off the situation was that the outsiders tried to assume the land via Qing when in reality Qing has no jurisdiction rights in that area. This is why the locals took up arms to protect their lives and killed off as many outsiders as they could. In the end around 1 million punti died or something. And then they built walls in their villages as well.... today in modern society... some people call these individuals triads. Some people also think that divide and conquer works. But you are also killing the "last of the emperor"... so why even call yourself Chinese ? Western media thinks the Qing is the single overall ruling imperial families. Inside China, they know that there are more than a single ruling imperial family and have consecutively different ones running in parallel.... If this was not so. Then you would not have separate land contracts between westerners and Cantonese in HK. Not separate schools etc etc....

Check out their surnames and DNA etc. Fyi... Japan has a sophisticated system that actually keep things separate and legitimate as well. If you understand something then you understand something. It's funny, they do dress like the old wedding gears too.... Like, all the old frilly bits that has the metals... Something said it was aluminium. There's an actual push to "preserve the heritages" now in HK... but people don't know what to do. lol.... Or rather, they don't want to stand out, and then be labelled or to even be found and then killed off. So some weird hakka professor apparently is now preserving "hans weitou" knowledge... Cos why... under the so called UN treaty... they lumped the "hakka, weitou, hoklo, tanka" all into the same group. So now, he just does mostly hakka... more like a hakka TV. Some people say that they intermarried. I am not too sure about that one. Some people literally try to rebuild their villages back again by moving closer together. i.e. Hakka with hakka. weitou with weitou.... etc etc. So much for those stupid preservation deals. It's why people are now also so poor too.

@sho9214 : The same is also in the UK as well. If you go to Scotland, they can speak Gaelic. And also English. If you went to Wales, they can speak Welsh. As well as English. Same in Europe as well... So if you are a decendent of say German heritage... You could speak your own mother tongue, German, as well as the expected language of the country. So many Dutch people can speak Dutch + German, or Dutch + English. Cos their parents either married a German, or an English. It reflects their identity and who they are ?

@Jack-mm3bl : "Punti" is not a race as such, but this is based on writing or diaries or observation from somebody who wrote about this. And this is why it is now translated as directly because... "punti" means that there were people already there. As opposed to.. which the British did in terms of their writing to say that nobody was in HK at that time ? So this article dispel that myths. And in fact, there might have been people, even if the figures were not beyond 100k people. But there were people there. Just not in the millions. So when people were "dictated to move to the coasts"... by the so called Qing dynasities... this is whereby a war broke out.. the assumption that nobody was there.. and then the people came back to defend their homes and everything.... maybe somebody sent the signal.. but in the end, this is why they broke out in war. Around 1 million people died. So who were these people that died ? Why did they come back then ??? And this explains why some arsey people tried to actually intermarry other races and then would go as far as to take their hands as well.... rather than to have inherited them from their fathers etc. This is what is wrong with the world today. And some people assume that, certain individuals are "hakka", but they are not ? Actually. But Hakka and Teo Chiu people are the same though, aren't they ??? You need to check out which hakka people, this is. Or is it a case of two lots of hakka people fighting for land and resources?? It's good to also check out why people are killed as well... If indeed some people were part of the Imperial elites, then defying their orders, often get your entire family killed off. It doesn't make sense if they were both hakka people... Those were the days and the laws back in those days.

He was not Hakka. Even if he married a Hakka woman, that makes his child Hakka and not him. He isn't Hakka cos at least he carries on his genes to his child. Dummy. And Sun had more than one child. He cheated... so out of his children. Am sure that one of them is pure Hans.

And that it is an old surname within the Hans ancestries... and not everybody is actually "chinese" by heritage or DNAs any more as well.... So... And yes, there is a lot of people with this surname also actually living inside Japan. And he did have a wife too when he was out there. You also need to remember that, the English alphabet romanisation of the chinese language of "punti" 本地 and "hakka".... 客家.... So why would the chinese character "客" (guest) be used here ? If the individual is a foreigner to that specific areas? If you watch the old actual movies about imperial times, then you would know that, some cities were gated, and they were closed off, to outsiders. That is appropiate, and it tries to follow Imperial Laws. All laws are applied to the people living inside the city itself. And anybody else is a foreigner. A migrant to the area, and the region. It had always been this way.... So why are people acting like, "because you have the internet, everything can be yours, even if it is owned by somebody else" ??? Why are people fighting to this extreme ??? The words "Punti" and "Hakka"... were the Westerners trying to put some kind of orders, and understanding, in order to do trades. This is why, you would find old documents, with such words in them... Cos to try to "smooth" the feelings after the second world war, this is what took place. @dewittbourchier7169 : I think whoever originally did the english translation, the romanisation from the chinese, whether it was from the cantonese dialect or the fuijian dialect... they literally did just that. But the English writer, must have assumed that the "hakka" and the "punti" were a formal noun, as in a race or something to that effect. But in reality, it just means "migrant" (to this location) and "local". Why they wrote it that way ? Because during the Song dynasties... the Hans Chinese moved downwards to escape from being killed and being taken during warring days.. They went down as far as HK as well. There was a famous stone, with the signs edged onto the stone, with gold powder (yes, classic chinese would use gold. grind it down.. into power form.. and then liquid it and paint it onto wood or onto stones).... They painted the stone to denote "The Emperor's Platform". So their descendents would know that was where he was. In actual fact... they were there.. and in the end, because of marginalisation.. and further fights.. his civil servants killed all their own families... and including the emperor... to stop themselves from being captured. This is an honorable thing to do. This is why, when the Punti - Hakka thing kicked off... the Hakkas were basically Northerners.. and further forced to move further South.. by the then ruling Qing dynasty. i.e. Mongolians. The Hakkas could potentially be from the Jin dynasties.. they were the koreans. Yes, those were the races..... (Chinese, Koreans, Mongolians)....
