There should not have been a Tencents at all. You can't have both Tencents, as well as Alibaba listed. Either/or. What should've happened then, is really to have a Tecents IN HK. Which means that creative industry, like animation, platform computing, distributed computing. Which links in with finances. And there are links that links with HK to other countries and cities as well. So why is this overlooked? When Li Ka Shing was peeved off.. he was not wrong. Cos his son created that so called smart alec telecom company, that kind of ruined things. Cos it disrupted the politics. And now, where is it ? Ruined that dynamic, and disturbed their competitors... and this is why they were basically squashed asap. No thanks to his move. How can a father and a son, both open companies to compete with one another? Alibaba created TWO data centers in the United States.. and they cannot even deal with their accountings. Why ? Why not file ??? Why doesn't such data centres exist in HK ? Why play landlord games ??? And now Shenzen is talking about a "metaverse" with Singapore... so now Singapore is going to privot and steal that limelight once again for HK ? If I was HK SAR government, I would invite the CEOs, or the representatives of HSBCs... for a cup of tea, and for a questioning in their Legco sessions !!! And basically broadcasts this everywhere ! That is what they SHOULD'VE gone.... And make sure that ALL your local television companies have the rights to broadcast that as well. Cos that is so not on ? I don't even know why they hired an actual Brazilian CEO for their exchange ??? I'm sorry..... I mean. Don't these people watch the news ? Or are they too confused to know which way to turn or to run ????....
I thought that HK is going to go into healthcare.... or are they deliberately going to miss that boat too ?

Why should the HKUST have a MTR station to service it ? You are already getting to location point to point under 30 minutes. And that is NOT good enough ? Have you gone crazy ? A lot of people across the globe.. travel like around a mega whopping.. 1 hr to work. Or even in the USA, they FLY into work !!! Commuting time to be around like 15 minutes is GOOD enough already ! STOP polluting HK !!! What I want to see in HK, is the pollution to be cleaned up ? And I want to see a lot of the floated companies like cleaning companies, both manufacturing, and cleaning or servicing, to be floated on the stock exchange. I don't get why people don't see such companies as valuable... cos other countries have it. So why doesn't HK ? Their contract values are into the millions... What if there is a servicing companies that cleans all the office blocks ? Even in the USA, their NYC offices have commercial companies cleaning their windows and everything. THAT is a job. And THAT company should float on the exchange ! I don't even understand what people don't get ???
What kind of companies do I expect to see in HK's exchange ?
1 - cleaning companies.
2 - printing companies, books.
3 - education companies... which includes translation softwares, even for indigenous languages... that can be installed into various OS, and platforms and whatnots... (and we are NOT talking about just "traditional or simplified"....!!! I mean weitou, or even "-隆都話". (Long Doh)
https:// www.youtube.com/ watch?v=DxQAT8ICZeQ&list=PLK7qCnafFFJZNBnebQCwnKH7rSOJ9S-Jk&index=7&t=20s
Or to even create softwares that can convert translations.. or something. There is a LOT of companies that can exist and it SHOULD float....

Er... it does not have to be that way, your assumption is that, Japan and South Korea cannot do closed-off R&D... but Samsung have been "innovating" off the back of the World Bank's money for like a good 10 to 20 years... "closed off education", let's call it... and then they created and internalised ALL their products without releasing it to the world yet. And when they do release it, it did not conflicted with other companies, or countries. Cos they plotted the path... So you tell me.. why should one looks retrospectively ? You can look forward as well. And why does and must HK always use American business text books, when it is an Imperial China model ? Confucianism etc? Unless you want to bring back concubine system... and have that tribal thing, ALL over again ???? One man, many wives. Many children. Farm the same land. Siblings intermarry one another. Now, THAT is genuine communism. In fact, apparently, the army still does this as well ! Although you do not see this, but even Japan stops their own kids from bonking with their own kids. Now that is civilisation !!!! Do we need a mega whopping DNA family ID system in order to stop people targetting one another here ??? Oligarch or no oligarch... Really. No wonder my mother is always always always so angry and she definitely have words to say !

@ArawnOfAnnwn : HK doesn't have the right skilled people to make it work, that is why it is stuck... I mean, even in South Korea.. when they cannot agree things politically, they take on the private route. For example, even Samsung has an actual army. Did you know that? I think some YT video stated that already. So what the states cannot provide, then it is down to corporation to provide. The people that were let into HK.. I don't know if they were once upon a time, imperial chinese.. from the Canton region.. or whether.. I don't even know that if they are keen to build themselves up. I don't see why there should not be things like an actual software for niche languages or indigenous languages for example. And those can be patented, and filed as part of educational software, for example. The problem with HK.. is not the lack of ideas.. it is the lack of agreement to do things... That is what is lacking. As some people say, if you throw money into the job.. to do it.. then surely... people will do that job ? It is not hard to make a software that translated the indigenous languages, for example.

You don't know this, but some of the people that is living in those public housing, should have no rights to live on it, actually.... There is a lot of overlap between the "days that the British colony period" versus the "days that HK was part of the Song dynasty, and not the Qing dynasty's decisions"... Under British rule, the government did protected some of the Song dynasty's people too. Away from Qing government's (badly dealt) decisions... and when those people were forced to move away because of potential chaos... Afterwards, the robbers came and robbed the locals of their lands, and then the infighting happened. And THAT is why... this continuous fight still continues.. And by right.. IF... there was no British intervention.. by right.. some of the people who are the "elites of HK today".. were the descendents of those robbers. I bet you did not know that, did you ? So.. now... Which side, do you think the argument should be swayed ???? Europe doesn't want to lose its soveignties, but do you think that HK should loses its original imperial families ? Or what was the remaining of.
There is a lot of reasons why Taiwan, or even Japan is thinking of an actual war... I mean... like really really...
