Even though the current sets are not actually safe. Then they need to modify it, so that it complies. So if it sticks out like that, then they need to put it in front of their own stores or something. Or on the side. Most roads in all other countries have a clear numbering system, and a clear sign as well. Some are very small. So maybe small signs, which are ergonomic and then are cost effective, is the way to go ? This should be a booster to the commercial sector, get ALL shops or stores to be replaced, and one single company to do this from endto-end. How hard is this ? Not very hard. Japan has done their ages ago... and incorporated it into their own designs.
Those signs might not be correct for an actual outdoor sign, but they could indeed be installed as an art installation, or for the inside of an actual mall or bar, or whatever. Like how Japan has done it. And make it low energy as well etc. Maybe "lower wattages" and make it energy efficient. How hard is it to convert them? Not that hard at all.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdb1CqZhFuY <---- See how Japan has adopted and preserved ALL their signs ? And added laterns as well.... and they increase their usages of LEDs too.
Japan has ceiling to floor glasses... but would HK be confident to have this kind of stores ? Without breakages ? And vandalism ? Their indoor lights, shines onto the pavements... Whereas all stores in HK, has metal shutters, in case somebody steal something. If those "lamp posts" have actually a solar panel.. which absorbs during the day.... and then at night, it lights up. How much energy does the city conserve ? A lot. And doing this, then means that, more energy for the housing. Flats etc.

@tylerproudlove8883 : What he said is true... if you see the genome project, and then read into the history of the different archeological bodies... you will find that there is an "ancient chinaman", as well as an ancient "neanderthal"... Basically, there is an ancient black man, an ancient chinese man, and an ancient european man. So the native americans in the USA, were actually migrants from Northern China (which we classify as China today, but once upon a time, it was not part of China, it was part of the Hans dynasties, hence the last of the "real chinese dynasties", some people classify it as Tang Dynasty)....
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Neolithic_cultures_of_China
This is why he calls himself "Asian", but I, in the UK, I call myself "British Chinese"... Cos I am from the Southern China. Until social media, I had no idea how big "china" is.. I actually cried when I found out that Mongolians are now classed as China too. As well as the different invasion which went on. I was shocked. Upset. And now, I realised why HK was invaded actually. A lot. And why I get bollocked by people from Singapore, or from Malaysia...

@taitslong3417 : You know... for a city.. that keep saying things like..."It is following British laws"... Well.. British laws.. say about "racism" is... "It is considered as racist, if somebody is not given an opportunity".... So therefore.. if these individuals were already given the opportunity ALREADY... and yet, their standards did not reach whatever expectation from employers... THEN.... what is the issue here ?! There is NO issue either ! You cannot employ EVERYBODY from the non-Chinese group to be into the ENTIRE company, so therefore... there can be no work for the local Cantonese either ! Can you ! For a 8 million city.. you want the entire 80 000 people to be in the police force? To be in the education sector ? To be the financier ? I am sure that, I have already seen like a non-chinese policeman already. In fact, some local cantonese and venting on Facebook and ranting already. Cos they were never given THAT opportunity.. when they were in their 20s.... And now they are in their 40s !!! They were FORCED .....to be doing lesser jobs... Cos of what was going on in HK. Imagine that. And now, 20 years on already... the entry requirement, has been dropped as well ? Before, it was a lot HIGHER... that is... the BEST OF THE BEST.... i.e. English (all As) + Cantonese (All As) + All As in A levels. + Degree = Senior leader or even team leaders. Those individuals... at that time, were chosen.. and they had to coax.. the local to accept them, cos their wages were a lot HIGHER than their own wages etc. And they had to negotiate to ask them to not violate the laws etc. It took 10-15 years !!!! (When they basically did is to ask them not to attack you non-chinese. That is what really happened ! And that was WHY trade continued ! And jobs were created ! Money came in etc !) And where did those people went to in the end ? They were forced to leave the city too. Many after 1997 had to migrate into the UK with their measley pension pots. Whilst.. you guys enjoyed everything that OTHER PEOPLE WORKED HARD FOR !!!!!!!
I DO NOT KNOW WHAT OTHER KIND OF INSULTS AND TRUTHFUL WORDS COULD AND SHOULD BE SAID NOW !!!!! Those families.. their kids are probably earning pittance.. than what they could do now, in those financier jobs etc. Or to even be a fisherman...(which apparently, NOBODY is now DOING. COS EVERYBODY IS PEEVED OFF !!!)... So now it is a stalemate !!!! no food entering the city. No supply chains. People rather rely on import goods ! Tinned food ! THAT is what is going on !

@Cosmo1093 : Explain in details to me, what exactly is the concept of the "One China Principle" ????.....
Why the Western world classify it as ethnic cleansing, is indeed because, it is an entire race. By that it means that everybody within that group are of the same either family or some form of bloodlines as well.. and the others within the region or countries are not, and are of other races etc. It comes from science to classify it as "ethnic" because when using medicine to treat certain people they are all different comparatively... so.... In Canada's situation .. yes... it is indeed ethnic minorities when it comes to the First Nation people. But however... why are the local in HK classified as "indigenous" ??... Like in a tribal sense but it isn't as so though.... Is HK now so mixed race in the sense that, there cannot be any classification at all ? And even if you do class this, is it really racially discriminating any way ? HK has to take a definition either way imho.... Cos it refuses to do this, and now then what ??? That is why it is a failed state, cos the people are not even sure what to either classify themselves as, and nor do they identify and connect to the city and its history. So basically rootless ???? This is why people fled. Cos they don't even connect to the city, and why do they, right ????
You do actually realised that, in other countries, they aren't as socially mobile or as mixed race, as people are in HK ?... Right ?... Or even in Taiwan... You DO know this, right ???....

@noellecms : You don't know your history though, and this is half the problem too. USA used to also have a section of the "USA" to be actually part of the Spanish colony. English ships went all the way into South America, called the Spanish Armada.. and conquered a lot of land way back when. And the Southern part of USA is mostly Spanish? Where the Cantonese are now living overseas. This is why, in some states, they have stuck to their own language as well. In fact, English is the usage, but many people speak their own languages between families as well. And some areas, they do speak more of their language at the state level.
So I ask you.... why should a Canton region, whose heritage...(the longest history)... is with the Yue language, with the Bai Yue people... Today, cannot speak a derived version of Yue, called the "Cantonese" ?? WHY ???? Even if some part of this language, created the understood modern day "chinese" or have merged and integrated as part of the "Hans Chinese" language.... EVEN if this has actually happened, you should NOT forget its original roots !!!! Which is YUE. THAT is the language, and you could loosely say that "Cantonese" is a "derived version of Yue" !!!!!! Some scholars in HK do not accept the idea of "Cantonese"... sure.. they could say that.. because the original name was Yue. And I can tell that, SCMP as usual.. have super uneducated individuals.. and again, blasted the usual junk as well....
There is a lot of loan words in Cantonese today that comes from the English language. There are some written old Hans Chinese that is also added to the Cantonese language today. This is why Cantonese = Yue + English Loan Words + Mixed merged Wu/Min Nam/Gan etc etc.... as written today and incorporated under its new(?)/own 9 tone system.

@kimtan1278 : You are too young to understand the situation, and its associated boundaries. UK is not interfering in China's "domestic affairs". "UK IS ACTUALLY COMMENTING NOW, ON AN INTERNATIONAL ISSUE, WHICH CHINA HAS WITH THE UK." The Sino-Joint declaration is a LIVE CONTRACT. It is activated post 1997+50 years. Who, and how, and what, and why, would China, say this is "domestic affairs" ??? Some aspect, DOES impact the declaration. You do not know which part does, and which part does not, do you ???? You are a funny and weird person. Sovereignty has signed over, but it does not mean, the entire system is transferred over. You have ZERO clue.
Many contracts and business contracts, that existed, before 1997... can now be undone actually, between China and the UK. So why does China wants this Huawei contract any more ? UK does NOT have to give into this contract, cos it is not even trading as a fair system. It has NO obligation to trade... You DO know this, right ? No trade negotiation, and no contract, MEANS no TRADE. You DO know that, right ????
How can China trade, when Shenzen is built up as a secondary financial city ? The financial city in HK, was built up by the British. Is China saying that HK's financial city status is going to collapse ? If it is... Then it means that, it no longer CAN be a financial centre, AT ALL !! It would move over the border INTO the Shenzen area. And then, there might NOT be actual financial centre in HK at all... And trade outside of the mainland is going to be controlled. So, I do not understand why all of these small time businesses... or chinese business owners, still see other countries as "open". They cannot be a part of their market.

@obsidianstatue : I think he is meant to say, they preserved it a lot better. Which is very very true. And obviously, any new buildings, are a lot more considered, before building, and before integrating with the old buildings. One thing, which so many people dislike is... how the rush to build buildings, so many old architectures were destroyed. I like these old buildings.. and I am guessing that, they are big, and magnificent, cos on those cold hills and cold climates. It definitely is Man Vs Nature. It must be a lot warmer in those buildings, than outside. I can appreciate, why some of the old buildings, used to have underground rooms, where warmth and heat is retained.
2
-
@SouravskpXD : I think so. Some of them. But then again, this is up against that argument of... are they created or was created because of.... X reasons, or whether they were a part of.... There is a lot of confusion over what should be preserved or not. Like in Xinjiang, because historically one of the leaders turned himself into a Muslim, then next thing you know, a lot of mosques are opened, for example. Even though the people are not believers. Do you see where this is going ?? A lot of things are seen as "trends", than it is of heritage, or a "I found a better technique based on limited raw materials, so I will make it this way instead". More like.."this person is no longer the ruling dynasty, let's get rid of all of their things and rebuild new things"...

I think some people do not understand the long history... of "Middle Kingdom".... I am not justifying these acts. I did read articles 20 years ago when I was in my 20s, about these comfort women. I had always thought that they were chinese. But in reality, they were Koreans. That is going as far back as just under 200 years... and the complication of issue is that Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and HK, were all once upon a time.. part of the Three Kingdom, that split. To think, under Qing Dynasty, the population was only around 300 million people. So this war, has caused a lot of issues... which should never have happened.

So he is an actual "Cantonese-Nepalese" then... so what is the problem ? In the UK... if you live in England, you speak English. If you live in Wales.. and they recently changed it to Welsh... or Gaelic in Scotland... This is normal too. I can also speak "German, Spanish, Italian, English, Cantonese, ".... I have a degree. And also a Masters as well. SO.... why should they not have the same opportunities ? Why should this NOT be something that these people are doing ? Oh, I forgot... also French as well. I was and had to speak a European language for the better integration. So I have GCSE German. And then did sciences at A level stage. Is this why... HK now lacks those medics.. and those individuals... who NEEDS these people, but now... they are fighting the same salaries and the SAME rice bowl... as well... USING Taxpayors' money.. to bring THEM up.. even more ?! There are elderlies... who couldn't even get an actual HOUSE... cos THESE families take it up as well. Watch this TVB local channel.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lqry36bRrbQ <----- These elderlies... served the community, til they cannot... and even listening to these statistics now... These kids, are using FAR too much resources... Than the local kids, and the local adults. And they DO NOT EVEN... live in that same city either ! They are migrants, that is immigrants... to the city. Whoever actually did their wrong doings to that city itself.. has done injustice to the city overall. Wanting to make money... but discriminates against the actual LOCAL citizens !!!! I don't see THAT also in the UK either ! A lot of children once created a system.. then help themselves. Lots of people are independent, and is able to speak, write as well. So why aren't these people ??? .... And those so called NGO individuals.. often... are just transient people as well. Do a job and then leave. Do a job and then leave. Creating a really bad chaos ? This is similar too for the UK... The local people, ought to be English or Irish or Scotish. Their population is now down to a mere 60%... and the rest of the society are from ex commonwealth ethinc minorities. What is HK doing ? It is supposed to be around 8 million people.. but I certainly don't think so. I bet that it is around 4 million Cantonese, and the rest are now foreign migrants... and non-Chinese ethnic individuals. THAT is what is going on !!!

@baruchlev2658 : Actually, that is not true about the USA... Cos the USA, is a relatively "new country"... by comparison to Europe. Europe is an old civilisation.... Whereas USA are mostly, what is classed as a "new world"... and is made up of many migrants.. including those from Europe... AND China too.... Let's be honest about that. And once upon a time... some chinese people also went as far as to Mexico as well. RTHK has documented this quite well in recent years. So... (and they were part of the global trades then.. when the UN was barely just created.. after the world wars)..... China is actually playing catch up. (And they are also doing that thing, which many didn't want to see, which is to integrate their genuine tribal people, into modern day Hans' societies... even India.... which is not "india" by modern day term... It is because of the globalisation, that they are indirectly forced to act as a "singular country". In fact, India.. has a lot of tribal people. Yep. The kind that EATS HUMANS.. and has never seen people of other colours. And India does everything to protect them from being seen, or captured.) I don't think that you actually understand how big the world is.... and not everything should be noted, from the internet... or just social media... California.. was also once upon a time, a part of Mexico. And around that time... actually, a lot of chinese were living there too. So yeh..... the world is far more complex than your assumption. (And no... USA is not just full of "white" people... far from it....although the current media, kept saying things like, "black people were slaves"... er... Only a few, but then the rest were actually... black owners, with white slaves. Because they were indirectly freed by policies. And then... the laws were not all explicitly defined in all states, so there were indeed a lot of hardships on white people too. Til they librated all races. It's too complex to sum up in a single sentence. )

@obsidianstatue : As you say, those who are alive today, must belong to someone or some family tree. So those who are of the "56 tribes" must belong to some old tribal army, or units... from some nomadic families.... So how is this actually a "tribe " ? So you are basically saying, the state, supports these 56 old nomadic army units... just because they were part of the old kingdom... even though their rulers have fallen ??? So, in effect, those who now sits in central Beijing, are actually helping their great great great grand cousin, once or twice removed... using whose money ?? Does the money not belong to the people ?!!?!?!? Why do these tribes get subsidies ?!!?!?!
Why are foreign companies, make money in China, and only the government take a big percentage of this.... so who do they help ?? And why are CCP members, how do they earn ? Why do they have lots of money ? What is their salaries ? Why do they earn as such ?? You tell me. In all other countries, all politicians... they pay to even enter the race to be nominated to be a governor. How and why does CCP members get the money ??? I repeat, in other countries, the citizen, PAY to become a politician... and let the people choose them first... Only in China, do CCP get a lot of state benefits... and money !!!

@ER1CwC ; It is time that HK addressed the actual immigration issues that they are encountering? Time to truly deal with this as well ? Really, it is time. What does France's own political affairs have anything to do with HK's political affairs ? France also had an actual big colony as well... and it is now having the exact same issue as HK is doing.. with the people unhappy, and the colony's own people moving into France, which is fine. But then they aren't exactly gelling and working together either, which they should do and should have done so. But why ???
Even if a society is declining, they don't need migrants, that is if they don't actually have any kindof financial transaction or weight by other people. Just like, Japan has managed well here.. and their people work very hard to sustain this as well. They literally have a formal immigration process too. As in you cannot become Japanese either. So how come.. HK's immigration process has fallen over? Including their financial sectors as well ? Why ? Japan did not have this happened to them.. and yet, HK's become as such ? Why ???? HK have always had immigration control !!!!! I don't even understand why illegal immigration has ended up as actually becoming a "free for all" ?! It never used to be like this at all !!! Everything has gone downhill since 1997 !!!!!!! NOBODY was allowed freely to ENTER or to leave !!!!! So why do the individuals that moved back into HK or those that is in the civil service or the government dept assumes and thinks that this is OKAY ?!!?!?!!!!!!..... It is NOT OKAY !!!!
HK before 1997, only had around 3000 high rises.. It now has around 9000 high rises, and it is EMPTY !!!! EMPTY BUILDINGS !!!!!! It does not and cannot even afford to keep those buildings !!!
Chinese law stated clearly, if you are from this place, then this is your hometown. THE END. I am beginning to understand why Carrie Lam was in power.. same as Li Ka Chiu... actually. Both of their ancestral graves ARE in HK... So why should they NOT be in those positions ???....

@セイデン : "little red book-er" is a social media analyst that either gets paid, or doesn't get paid.. but they bad mouth their opposition. Whoever wins and bat down their opposition party, wins. And when they win. This is noted as well with their so called online... company, and the state companies as well.. in which case then.. it activates some kind of action. Either everybody is banned, or censored or edited.. or whatever. Sometimes, they edit things out cos it violates actual laws. Other times, they edit or filter, cos it is not paid competition etc. So. .. you just dont know what you are dealing with, at all ? And they also take other people's datas as well, without authorisation. Like, foreigners' data.... (like me).... and try to monetise that as well, to their advantages. (Which is actually illegal. Cos they fall into different jurisdiction.) This is the fault of china, for trying to "copy"... but not actually filter out their own different markets etc. They basically merged news with online sales, and marketing etc. So this is why nobody knows what is going on any more.

@jeffrey7737 : Handmade things in HK and in China is more expensive. And being frugal city, people want to earn a lot, but they want to spend very little. So his home-made ones, are not mass produced or subsidised, so he will be competed out against. So.. this is whereby.. he should find a tiny niche shared space.. but also diversify... Basically. I mean, doing that, he might just be able to earn a tiny but small living. But don't expect people to spend high cash any more, considering flats have now exploded in price. So... those spending power is no longer there. This is also why, people do not play mah jong any more. Well, they play with money. Traditionally, I think it was just a leisure thing and there was no exchange of money, is my understanding. It is meant to be an Art... (without monetary transaction) is my understanding. But of course, capitalism, and modernisation just pushed people to adapt.. and by 2022.. I think to exchange money with such games, is practically illegal. i.e. Financial services laws.. or gambling licensing etc..
My mom plays those weird card games.. she knows the rules, but I don't. She plays with her other girlie friends. And it does keep her mind ticking over and keep her busy. I used to do sudoku as well.. when I needed to train my brain and try to remember something. Used to have a portable gameboy as well with some classic brain numbing games to keep myself busy and focused.
Anyway, such things maybe are kinda forced by the local councilers to move to a better location, in case they have some kind of weird and odd provincial goals, or whatever.. and then he would be exempt and bulldozed over. Maybe this is why they are moving him to a better location, isn't it? Since PRC supposedly have a centrally controlled planning.. But if you look at other countries like Japan.. or South Korea.. they kept all of their local traditions.. and people slowly made the way they are by respecting each others' personal ownership or land, and spaces, and skills. This is not something that PRC follows through. They just want the objective, but they don't care whose heritage it was... That is the thing. Cos if you were born a farmer's family tree. Then there is no way that you would not be a landowner, or a farmer. That is kept inline in Japan and in South Korea. But in HK.. it is like, if one is a landowner, then all are landowners.. If one made mah jong, then everybody makes mah jong. Er.... This is why in china, people fight. And they compete with one another. I'm sure that isn't how it worked in other Asian societies.. Respect for the other person's role in society was super important ! PRC ? Peh ! Absolutely no respect.

If I was to turn things around, I would first, limit and control immigration again. Kick out those from SE Asian countries, for one. Then, reduce or recover some of the estates. Have a direct rental, or renewal of rentals from specific areas... and the agents, act as a broker.. WITH backup... from some kind of financial institution.. to broker the moves. i.e. "If you are willing to give up your flat and that you move to this location, I can get you this price, and I would add extra from funding from the bank to see this through etc". He can get some kind of insurance or other.. I dunno what products that can cover these. Then... When the wrong people should not be there is not there. Leave a section for living close to offices and living spaces, government suppress those prices.. or subsidises them. Then create a space... for him... and some cultural areas. Those who do not have hukuo, is time to leave HK.. and work elsewhere. Sorry. but they should. Create some rooms again for those foreign workers for the banks again. The end. If even they can't work.. then where do you find the money to boost back up the economy ? Those on low income refuses to work in those office jobs and climb up ! One of these things.. in the UK, or the US.. one would still try and aim for a white collar job and higher paid too, even if an elderly. Yet, in china or in HK.. most people don't... I don't even get the point of not doing that.. Such a different way to view things. A lot of people are like in their 50s in the UK, and started a degree! Yet in HK... the government shift these people into elderly care homes. But what if they are not ready to go ?! If they do not want to do it, this is another thing... but if they do.. then support them to do so! You can't have a situation whereby everybody is on low income and nobody spends...

@anthonychan3336 : The thing is, people assume that the "UN Official language" is and should and ought to be the "national PRC Official language", this is WRONG WRONG and WRONG !!!!! Even during Imperial China's time.. there isn't this much BS. Really. Just because a city or a country gets involved in trade, does not mean that the locals, or the soviegn people, gets to be 1) killed, and 2) their life destroyed, and 3) they are marginalised on their own home turfs !!!!! If there are no more chinese inside China, is it still called "china" ? NO. It is NOT "china" any more !!!! Even today, it is funny how... with so much technology today... like even DNA testings.. those individuals in power, could call themselves "Hans" ??!!!! What ?!! It was Imperial Edict which stated clearly.. that... "you should follow confucian values, and build within your own community".... That has NEVER changed ! It's Chinese laws !!!! So when others kind of invade and trespass.... That is RUDE. You're a guess in that piece of land ! and ask yourself, does that law, actually allows you to work and live there? Does it ??? I think people needs to read the chinese laws, cos it does not allow or implies that you could.
1
-
@kennethwong5725 : What some of you people in Malaysia does NOT know is that, you need to stick with your own language, cos it was the Chinese Tang Code... (that is, Imperial laws) that dictate, that you should, and ought to actually speak and to live within your own family's land, or premises. So many, when during periods of war, or that they were paid to defend the borders and boundaries, often, went OUT of their way.. to destroy other people's actual land, as well as leaving their own borders. You don't see this kind of behaviour in any other countries, like in Europe or the USA. Cos normally, those borders are controlled borders? You have to tick a box or fill in a form if you leave the land, and before you enter etc. This is the same with the USA too. So I don't get why some people in SE Asia... keep on complaining, about XYZ... and literally NOT stick by the rules.. and stick by their own duties to live within their own borders. And because SOME people DO NOT do this.. then the rest doesn't either.. and then we have fights, deaths and chaos... Which is where we are at now. Even and especially with HK as well.... Like VERY BADLY ?!!?!!!

@SouravskpXD : Really more like, not bias than it is... Something which does not exist, say. Even now, I am learning. And nobody will actually correct it, or to redefine, cos there is also the people's biasedness as well. i.e. "I cannot tell you this, since I am not that person"... This is why some chinese people will not be able to explain and cross reference it back to the Western model. Sometimes, I am confused over some of the terms as well.. Cos I think the written words were left by a certain dynasty, for example. (Some, are basically totally lost.) But I think there is a bit of a movement, to rebuild the past now. Archeology is something which is happening in China.
1

@obsidianstatue : No... I think they mean, just in general... As in, city planning. Some buildings, across Europe, are extremely old ? So there isn't any room to build. A lot of the land are untouchable. So, instead of leaving no room for living. Most of the old buildings are re-used. To re-use, strict laws are placed on how they can be strengthened. It has to go through analysis and approval etc etc. By several teams.
I have yet to make trip to the mainland yet, but I like to one day. I just watch a lot of videos for now. I think there are more old things in China, which is more common, since the land is so big... Which I also find surprising. I didn't mean, "Japan is better than China, nah nah nah nerrrrr". :) Don't be so petty.

@anchored555 : Chinese government did not lift 800 million out of poverty. Chinese government, never used to charge any lands.. maybe only imperial lands. And that was internal, and not external. It is when the "country" decided to join the WTO, without knowing its full obligations.. and yet, would NOT reform, to meet its expectations. So much so that, chaos happened. Again. Only in the mainland, can a "party member" has enough gold, stored in his home, more than the value of a small European country. THIS is not governance.. THIS is stealing !!! It is called "People's Republic of China"...."PEOPLE'S".... But that money belongs to the people. Not to this individual CCP party member. Some people forget the reasons why they exist.. and their "job" obligation.. 800 million was lifted out of so called poverty, is a bit of a fake number. Cos those lands were used to be charged and added into the mix. So many times, the stock exchanges within China collapsed. Again and again, and again. People own many "state-owned enterprises"... As in, location provincial governments, borrow money, in order to report their GDP figures. A lot of things are very wrong in the mainland...

@mitsume_slay : They want the "best of the best". Despite most adults, aren't even allowed to go to school... and never did go to school in China... either. Or in Canton. They were sent to work asap as a child. I bet THIS was never reported EITHER ! Imagine.. we did not even have computers just a mere 40 years ago... and now we have TV shows.. and everything at our finger tips... So these children, cannot listen to a tape.. and then to even mimick the sound? You could ! And this is HOW many individuals learnt as well.. I did that with Japanese. I had no idea what I am listening to. My friend made me a tape. I listened to it. I tried to mimick the sound.. and then I broke it down as well too... and then recreate it back up as well ! Many "ethnic minority" celebrities in HK did the same too. THEY did okay ! In fact, they got jobs as singers.. and TV presenters.. the list goes on !
There are a lot of materials from RTHK as well.
Also.. because these Western firms and people, refuses to leave HK as well.. It indirectly drags.. the rest of the mainland China... into the tiny HK city itself. So the infrastructures, should NOT have been created AT all.... it should not have done so. So what the government did, is that, they wanted those foreign currencies.. and forced the local cantonese to move away from their own hometown and their heung ha.... By force, by coercion... and more. So I don't get what is the point of wanting these children to teach them anything, at all means ? For a Cantonese city, half the people cannot even speak Cantonese. Don't you think that the city is in financial danger ? Same with the UK actually.. Half the Chinese, don't want to integrate with the overall grand plan of the country to reach net zero either. And they just want to make their own little bit of money. Shouldn't people really deglobalise, at this moment in time ? Genuine question actually. I had no idea that.. with the social media now... Other HK media, are indeed scraping data and info from other netiezens elsewhere as well so.... What really is the point of ANYTHING any MORE ? ....

For anyone who could read the old traditional chinese character sets... and if they read wikipedia, and then the chinese format as well... I think there is a mega big mistranslation which went on. I am beginning to think that this was deliberately done. How could the situation get so bad ?? All I know is that, historically speaking, and we are talking about going way back into the 2000 BC (before Christ)... back then, there were the people who lived near the two main rivers of China. The Yellow River, and the Yangzte.... These are, and most people classify as Hans.. or "Xia" (or.... "Hua" in Cantonese).... because... Either you could argue that, they were the same set of people, or were two sets. Some of these people moved upwards to be Northern, and population what became Korea, and Mongolian etc. However, there was this other oddball migration from the West China... which were actually from Europe !! It is this group, which brought the "dynastic model"... and Imperialism... Somehow, their dynastic model... became like a national model or other.. but then not everyone knew or accepted this. Hence, the continuous fightings and so forth... and then inter-marriages and "gifting" when the war was won, or if you took one side over another etc. This is why when ROC won the "Middle Kingdom" briefly... it only accepted that China had 5 major races. Not 56 tribes !!!! And the 56 tribes are kept getting state benefits... and now, the CCP members want to migrate them, and turn them into economic slaves... and move them into urban areas, in order to boost GDPs etc. This is why people are rebelling... From zero debt, to high debt. Outrageous.

@thecrab3128 : Cantonese, is what English speakers know the language as in HK. But in reality, the correct assumption and fact should be that, people in HK speaks "Yue".... To say that somebody in HK speaks Cantonese, is kind of romanising the word "Yue" as Cantonese instead. Just because it's in the English dictionary. The reason why people are kicking up a fuss in HK.. is because, BECAUSE of overseas' pressures from Westerners as well as countries like Singapore and Malaysia and Taiwan.... who speaks fuijian/hakka/"mandarin".... now, their assumption is that, HK should too. When it should not. Cos they are different race of people. All you need to know is that, the Hakka (fuijianese) moved and was from the shipping city too of Fuzhou.... and because they kind of invaded HK a little bit as well.. and spread to Taiwan and also spread to Singapore... And some into Malaysia as well.. they also WANT to invade to HK too. This is why, some people pushes back quite a bit ! There are some Hakka people in HK who blends in by speaking Cantonese, so that people assume that they are Cantonese/Bai Yue people.. when they are not. It is all to do with trade, and money, and capitalism etc etc.... It is not asking for special treatment, it is telling others to "back off".... from invasion.

@verifeli : Yeh... you can... I would think of something like that. A game, based on his store. And it is related to mah jong.. and then it could be a cartoon, a storyline, or it could be a maths game. Published and released. Simple, isn't it? But the thing is... HK society is like that, people do not necessarily live or help one another cohesively... and to be fair. People possibly do not relate to one another, as in families.. so they deliberately won't help either. Plus a lot of transient people always.. So.. double won't help. Everybody has their own agendas, and their own goals in life etc. If you go against that flow, people often shouts, and antagonise, and even possibly harm you in some ways. Especially if they find out that you earn more than they do. It is a harder time now to.. earn and to create an economy...

Yes, this is what happened... cos someone think that the city needs more, so the original settlers... were kind of left in the lurch... and are often, pushed or forced to leave... Given some money, which is not even enough to stay in the city. (Often, these villages are remote, and the people are uneducated... so are tricked on the price point, as well as... how to get on in life afterwards....) This is how things happen... and a family unit is destroyed. It creates bad feelings, in society. If someone went to your hometown, gave you a lie, and sold your family house... and then trashed the grave. Would you not feel angry ??? I would.

You got some of those facts wrong... HK existed even in the Ming dynasty. As well as the Tang dynasty as well. Some of those who are called "fishing people" "hok lo"... Maybe they avoided the wars and infighting on the mainland.. when it did happen... and they fled to the coast to fish for a living. But then again... it can be said that, the original settlers of the "Hua Xia" people, were yellow river people as well. They fished for a living and that is how they survived. Some of the Qing dynasty people were basically siberians and Russians... with some heritages linked to Korean blood lines... This is why there had always been a North and South Divide. There was once upon a time.. a literal line drawn... between North AND South....
What the British did, was that, they tried to reconcile.. the so called "infighting" with many European countries... to "unite" "China"... but in truth... in history.. there never was a single China. Never was. Never did. Just cooperation. Does not mean that you can and should leave your own region or hometown.. or whatever. Because of trade, this is why many English speaking chinese often reside in the East Coastal areas.. all the way down towards HK. HK was not even supposed to be opened up for trade. Cos Britain wanted Shanghai. It never wanted HK. But the people who gave it away... i.e. Qing Emperor... basically forced the British onto the Canton's Pronvicial govenors. Cos it is their enemies' location.... Ironically... the Qing dynasties.. did not know that, the Canton provincial people would work with these Europeans... and literally opened up trades.. and the rest is history.
Cos then.. when prosperity came... some of the Fuijian region people seeing that their trades are slowing down, cos the trades have gone down Southward... this is when, they too went Southward and to enter HK as well. And this is whereby numerous fights and infighting took place...
I never knew that... some of the scholars are saying that... by right..."HK never had a single legal and political structures". They said that.. there had always been two legal systems in place. HOW is that possible ?????.... Cos if this was the case, then many European banks and companies could not have been dealt with then. And nor, should the World Bank have entered HK to begin with. And the entire existence of USA should not exist then. And if this is right.. then surely.. China needs to cough back up their various loans and materials from abroad then. And skills... and patents.... etc etc etc. IF the NSL is strictly to be implemented... Then ALL of PRC's development over the last 30 years, need to roll back.... Back to the original point.

"China" is made of around at least 120 or whatever "countries".. by European standards. The word "dialect" is a modern made English terminology. Considering that even just under 200 years ago... Many cities across the globe had no electricities.. and that people could not speak or even talk...or even had television. Why do you feel that "Cantonese" is "wrong language within the PRC" ? And yet, so many people call "China" as "China"... and not as "the PRC".... The thing is, even their own internal media does not report and use the terminology "PRC"... Why ? Cos they fear that it would split their powers apart. Right this moment, there is the PRC... and then there is actuall many mini countries, which was never reconciled.. and media papers like SCMP is not helping. Cos it used to be a localised regional paper which covered the actual news. BEfore, originally it was owned by a chinese family... and they reported their angle.. because of globalisation, and because of various other treaties and contracts and promises both at the Eight Nation level as well as the UN level.. such that, even "non-countries" are becoming an actual "country" ?? People just became sheeps... and not even know their own rights? They assume the powers....
THAT is what is going on here. And THAT is why people fight.... Xi did not even entered the borders and boundaries into HK when he visited. Why ? Cos that region is not under his governance.. and yet, papers like the SCMP KEEPS going on about the fact that it IS ? Why ? Because the whole company is actually used to spread misunderstanding, and bad media reportings ??? Or do they just see it as a form of .. it doesn't even hold soveignty ????....
So many people "work in HK".. but yet, they don't see themselves as invading, THAT is the problem today !!!!!!

@timetraveller2300 : If you translated or read the chinese, in different tones... about the language, then you know would know Cantonese is called "a language".... in Chinese.
"usually call their language 廣東話; Gwóngdūngwá; 'Guangdong speech' [kʷɔ̌ːŋ tʊ́ŋ wǎː]. In Guangdong and Guangxi, people also use the terms 粵語; Yuhtyúh; 'Yue language' [jỳt jy̬ː] and 白話; baahkwá [pàːk wǎː]; for example, an expression like 南寧白話; Nàahmnìhng baahkwá means 'Hundred-Yue speech of Nanning'."
Wiki stated that. And in a way, it is correct, because we call it " 廣東話" direct from when the British owned HK. So it became known as "Cantonese"... but however.... It had always been "粵語"... The "Yue Language".... It is stated as "語".. which is a "language".... whereas "話" is the speech.
In Guangxi, they call it "Yue Language"... and it should or ought to be same or similar as the Yue in HK as well. The difference between the two location is because in HK, it has the english loan words added to the Yue language as well. So therefore, the locals called it "Cantonese". Now do you get it ???
There are other "languages" inside China as well:
吳語 (Wu language) aka 上海話 (Shanghai speech).
閩語 (Min language) aka 潮汕話 (Chiu Chow/Fuijian speech). Or 咱人話 / 咱儂話.
湘語 (Xiang or Hsiang language) aka 湖南話 (Hunan speech.)
粵語 (Yue language) aka 廣東話 (Cantonese speech).
If you noticed, when people are supposed to speak "Putonghua" .... which is "普通話".... aka "Common Communication Speech".
In Taiwan (whereby they speak a lot of Hakka/Min group languages, they call it "國語"... (Because Taiwan had already created their mini "Nation"... that is why they refer their Min Nam/Hakka version as the national version. However, this isn't so in all the other regions.)
=======
"Among Chinese people, Hànyǔ (漢語; 汉语) or the "Sinitic languages" refer to all language varieties of the Han people. Zhōngwén (中文)[26] or the "Chinese written language", refers to all written languages of Chinese (Sinitic). However, gradually these two terms have been reappropriated to exclusively refer to one particular Sinitic language, the Standard Northern Mandarin, a.k.a. Standard Chinese. This imprecise usage would lead to situations in areas such as Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore as follows"
The other thing is, 漢語 (Hans language) is the term to describe the entire collection of chinese languages using the written Hans character set, both the speaking and the writing.
中文 - Is the term to describe the written Hans Language. So you could say that 中文 = "written Hans Language".....
In the past, it was the Fuijianese/Hakka speakers, especially from Singapore of from Taiwan or Malaysia, who was especially from Fuijian that stated that it was "standard chinese". Only because, when Singapore was actually created, they created their own internal language as well. To denote their own language. But this is not what it is called inside the PRC though. And it is very rude for such individuals to continue to spread this kind of rumour, and not to claim the differences in between ? Cos they split off their country and formed their own budgets, and such likes. So....

@timetraveller2300 : I am a chinese descendent, and is more chinese, than you are chinese. This is the problem though... and you don't realise this aspect of yourself... whereas other countries have quickly moved forward because they sacrificed. Did you sacrificed? No, you didn't... and because nobody sacrificed... people are arrogant. Whereas my ancestors sacrificed as well. We worked abroad, and swapped for money, and we sent those money back home. So as to uplift your living standards... what did you sacrifice today ? What did you do ???
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTgtQ3Fl1jw&t=16s
This is what has been said.. in San Franciso recently... whereby it had a lot of Cantonese that moved there during the last gold rush and things like that. Even my family, similar, but we came to the UK... creating a stability and world peace after that. You guys in Singapore and Malaysia, has NO SAY... in how you run HK.. and has NO SAY... in how Cantonese can and cannot do... Cos we gave back. Right to that same spot. So you don't get to go and break up those relationships as well. And don't assume that you could also stuff those money, into your own personal pockets either !!! And DO NOT ... assume that it was "Singapore's money"... that made HK as well.. Cos it has ALL been documented !!!!!!
CAN Insider have published a LOT.... recently !!! So therefore, their words, discredit those individuals' personal voices.. as in those arrogant ones that often say..."WE MADE YOU"... That is BS. You made NOTHING.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqRJYOrlKqE&t=1088s
Now that CNA Insider published that "blackmail moment" in British history.. which made itself, what it is today... And then Singapore slyly edged to connect with China, with the PRC... and arrogantly.. discredit the disporas from oversea's as well...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVcpZsem_lw&list=PLK7qCnafFFJb4XxCU_5gP5uuRbp2u_gQa&index=47
Remittances that went back from the US into HK and into China.. indirectly uplifting its situation, and moved it away from hyperinflation, as the continuous war and infighting that went on inside the PRC... And affecting the currency's markets and rates, and without actual control... And made people in an even worst state. Don't you think that we know ? Even Xi... is now.. ready to be cordial.. cos he doesn't know who is friend, and who is foe. And yes, even the inside the PRC... many individuals are super mad too. They're made alright.

@Bunnyroo7 : I was raised speaking English and also Cantonese too. I can tell you that, some individuals are being absolutely discriminatory.. That is, the foreigners that works in HK, are abusing the English language themselves. Both themselves.. and by others. You cannot just allow, such a situation to happen... and because nobody fights back, cos they assume that making money is important. Then they even lose themselves in the process !!!! I call that an invasion, don't you ??? SOME control is important imho !
There are indeed Europeans's descendents in HK.. However, should it, or should it NOT be an actual Chinese city ? It should be a chinese city. What happens, when foreigners outgrow actual Chinese? Even this doesn't happen in the UK. Actually.. if you cannot afford an actual child, then you don't have a child. Simple as !!! So.. what happens when there are more foreigners that dominates the financial sectors? And then they dominate the political tiers as well ? The country, pull the plug and spreads the wealth away from HK. This is what happens. In order to stop the expansion and the foreigners from having more children. IF people cannot even understand basic things... like that... then what are you doing? Calling the landlords, the "indigenous people" is RUDE. Crass.. and absolutely obtuse.
Why don't we call the foreigners as "slaves" in HK??? Why are Chinese lives so cheap ????....

@szesze-bw8fz : But this is the point..... do you want the entire world to be "chinese" ? I don't actually... and the risk is TOO high ? I don't want this. I don't want to see this either. So many, are already not cantonese, which is fine.. but in fact... this is very destabilising.. The Dutch, lost their empires, and they literally did not want their "mixed race children " to enter The Netherlands. Although do still do now. But the percentage is only low. Maybe around 10 to 20%.... This is why now, in Europe... the "far right".. is on the rise. They are raising themselves into power. And to be honest, I agree with them. I know that even my family have married mixed-race individuals too. But many married the same race. In my uni years, many went back to HK. And migrated back. Some next generation relatives took over their businesses, or whatever... but at least, we don't try to disrupt this dynamic. 1.4 billion chinese wor... and you want to eliminate their race, and heritage ? Why ??? Caucasian is about to go extinct in this generation.. and that is very scary ?? Even the migrants, or the ethnic minorities are higher than the white people in the UK...

If you think about it, it makes no sense to activate a "security law", when the actual country's sovereignty has been transferred. So what IS happening inside of the mainland ? Did that law never existed before ? Are there operational issues across ALL regions and areas ? Did some of them, are actually NOT internationally legal, and compliant ? Possibly, yes, right ??? Cos when you read the chinese comments. A lot of them makes NO sense !! People still use languages, similar to that of Imperial China.... "Sifu".... "Imperial Area".... etc etc. People "say" things, but they "do" in another way !!!
Do not tell me that some people inside of China, do not realise that, signing an international agreement, means that you WILL meet the international GOALS as well ??!!?! Did you think that only chinese companies would benefit ? And not to make it 50/50 ?? Did you think that "china can open up", but other countries can SINK ?? What ?? Did they think that, money should just be turned inwards, and not spend outwards ????

To be honest... when I look at this video... and then I am beginning to under an actual picture of the actual HK.. of the past... I don't think that it was "any better" in actual fact. Not really. Cos... I had thought that, the way that we have our civil services in the UK is similar to HK's... cos it was an actual Commonwealth? I did not expected that, it did not have that model at all? Or rather, the people INSIDE HK.. did not feel it, or as so. Therefore... this is why it was always chaotic. And the people there, "prided" themselves... cos they assume that it was THEIR hardwork.. that raised the city off the ground. But they have never seen the oversea's reports.. and such like... etc etc etc. So therefore, the people who were "appointed"... or "ex-civil servants"... were.. in reality back then.. and back when the world had only 60 countries. THOSE individuals, were at an higher position, than they do today. After those UN/2nd world war period... each country made up their own structures inside their own country. Maybe this is why, those who lived through those days.. try to rewrite histories as well... etc etc etc. This is why it is funny when people say that " our law is different to yours"... Actually.. HK never had common law, judging the decision-making the actual outcomes. And now... I can see all those reports.. and everywhere, what is going on ?... In those earlier days, you had functional groups as well. Which is a kind of union. Or acts like it. This is why, I didn't quite get all of these so called "political parties"... I think they must have been like, national parties.. cos it was only later on, that people realises that they are out of reach of the rest of the country ? (And HK's news also do not reach the mainland now either.)
