It is not cheaper to produce them. It is more money to produce them. Did you know that people only focused on the RMB... Versus local currency ratios. But if you used the old exchange rate. That bottle of soya sauce is the inflated product. It costs around a million yuan per bottle.. and yet.. nobody shouts out about that at all. People inside the mainland experienced hyper inflation and was helped to reduce it, and yet ...this is not acceptable .. to see local HK products flourish..... This is ridiculous !

@gj3933 : And yet, it costs a lot of logistics, fuels, energy, global currencies, and various other resources to move that single bottle of soy sauce to HK. Or to SE Asian countries. Yet.. this is fine ? Why shouldn't each area have their both local resources and food.. as well as excess that they could export out of the country any way ?.... Many businesses in HK are also older than 100 years old too..... The chances of both sit sauce factories being related families or relatives' businesses are possibly high too. Why don't people think about it like that instead?...
