@timetraveller2300 : You really should not use the word "dialect" to describe Cantonese. Cos in the English language "dialect" means something else very different, and you would confuse people. Cos it doesn't mean this at all.

@eugenec7130 : Nobody is disputing what you guys should and should not speak in Malaysia. Or in Singapore. If you are from those hometowns, then so be it. Just don't dictate and tell us off as well in HK... And those who has families still in HK, like myself in the UK. I would always put my own parents' heritage first. Which is first weitou... and then Cantonese. (Cos my grandfather was from nearby Bo'an as well.. and he was also a civil servant back in the days too. Guarding those areas. So why should I "not" look after my family, sorry, but who are YOU ?????? ) I don't associate myself to the "CCP Party" cos we came first. CCP Party is a modern structure.. and did not existed in Imperial China's times. So yeh... following your ancestral Imperial law is not WRONG. Unless you are not Chinese, and is wanting to follow Russian's Marxism... which is what is happening in the North... and those in SE Asian countries, aren't aware of what is and was Chinese Imperial orders, as opposed to what benefits Russia... (and their expansion into the PRC).... You guys are blind. Whereas at least, I see some of those politics as well living in the UK. Russian politics are normally broadcasted here too.

Because he does not know the language, he does not know which city or province are enemies towards HK.. and which aren't, and why they are not. He does not know.. whose family vendetta... will see another set of bloodsheds in HK.. That is why he would not care. And he would embrace certain people and certain demeanors etc etc etc... And most mixed-race kids know this too. Guangxi people protected their land, and fought off the invaders, and killed them one by one... til they backed off. And then this is why today, the whole area is still an actual autonomous region. I bet he does not care or know... how many citizens in HK were killed during the punti-hakka war either. The British just mediated between people.... but they never really allowed legitimacies back into the land !!!! (And now you have an entire families and bunch of people who assumes and pushes for that final topple. This is NOT acceptable !!!!! )

@sharp4479 : He means the words. "canton" = Guangdong. Or "Guangzhou". I am writing this cos it's the scmp in case the English readers misunderstood. All three romanised words from 3 different transliteration system. One using Wade Giles via the Cantonese sound. Second one using another British system whose name I've forgotten. Third is maybe jyutping via mandarin sound to describe canton. When you say teochow or Hokkien. Many doesn't understand this cos it was a Singapore created system. Which has nothing to do with us in HK. Sorry but it doesn't ? Keeping the same standard is down to you guys. So you separated which means that you have no say about other regions to begin with anyway ?

It does not sound "minority", cos it is your assumption that you are in the minority, when you are "not" ? I don't ever see a person in the UK... keep saying that "I am English and I am in the minority"... actually.. We just get on as usual. If you are a Taishanese, then introduce yourself as such. Where has the basic decencies gone to ??? i.e. "Hello... My name is Mr X... I am from XYA...and this is my business card..." or a ".... I am here to introduce myself to you, as a colleague... and I am here to look after XYZ".... Don't accept online media, or entertainment as the FORMAL way to behave ! People still don't know you !!!!!

@timetraveller2300 : You are wrong to say that "方言 = dialect"... Actually.... EVEN if the website or the online dictionary INSIDE the PRC.. says that it is so... The actual English word "Dialect"... its definition in the dictionary does not mean "regional language" at all ! The word "dialect" is actually a linguistic's subject, an academic word, to describe a concept !!!! THIS is how it was created..... It does not mean "regional language" aka "方言". Whoever made this original definition, and created this association INSIDE the PRC.... must have made it according to their own academic mind, AT THAT TIME... And as a chinese descent, we know why sometimes this happens. Either the person in power decided to keep the peace, would they do that. More often than not, this is what happens, but....

@ivegas1000 : Mandarin is a UN made definition. And it is a subset of actually something like Fuijian.. and this is why people are now kicking up a fuss. Cos they want everybody to be Fuijianese ?! NO !!!!! STOP IT !!!!! STOP !!!!

What SHOULD have happened, is to have the actual "National Song" to be written into the Cantonese language, and be done with. And not to force the kids to pick up the language, and not be able to sing it in their own mother tongue !!! That would have been the way. I don't even understand how come.. this big mess is like this now. And the assumption that "you NEED to do this". That is BS. You don't need to do anything, you are already a chinese !!!!

Why do you find this odd ? Cos a lot of Cantonese were sent abroad to work in the past colonial days !!! And as you could see who they were, and why really, can't you ??? And did you even read about the punti-hakka war as well ? A lot of the punti (cantonese) were killed by the hakkas.... around 1 million of them... maybe this explains why THEY were shipped abroad.. to work as coolies.. and as slaves to the international trades? Have you NOT noticed this fact ??? And do you not see why, and how come, the idea and the whole idea.. of more hakka.. and more SE Asians.. and flooding HK ???? It's like... shoo away the birds that nests in those nests, and then let somebody else rob their nests !!! This is what is going on here to be honest. Anybody with a brain would know what is going on !!!! And the thing is, the Western world... doesn't accept this fact.. and doesn't even want to rebalance back that justice. Cos in the far future.. there isn't even a race called cantonese people, actually.

@Ohyeahhahaha : Chinese should not have been seen as a race. It should have been treated and seen as an actual nationality. Hans should have been seen as the race. And regional ownership of those area should have been made explicit !!! When I see what is going on.. It is like.. When Carrie Lam... and then Leung.. and then Li as well.. I realise now that it is following some kind of Imperial China model. Which was NOT as obvious before. But it is SO now.... This is why those individuals went abroad into the State Council to actually run for those so called rolled up government and political model.... This should NOT have happened at all !!!!! The original CCP part is also now being eroded by some kind of model... and integrated model.. to "unite as one"... It is not acceptable? Cos it is a power grab ??? @Cosmo1093 : Explain in details to me, what exactly is the concept of the "One China Principle" ????..... Why the Western world classify it as ethnic cleansing, is indeed because, it is an entire race. By that it means that everybody within that group are of the same either family or some form of bloodlines as well.. and the others within the region or countries are not, and are of other races etc. It comes from science to classify it as "ethnic" because when using medicine to treat certain people they are all different comparatively... so.... In Canada's situation .. yes... it is indeed ethnic minorities when it comes to the First Nation people. But however... why are the local in HK classified as "indigenous" ??... Like in a tribal sense but it isn't as so though.... Is HK now so mixed race in the sense that, there cannot be any classification at all ? And even if you do class this, is it really racially discriminating any way ? HK has to take a definition either way imho.... Cos it refuses to do this, and now then what ??? That is why it is a failed state, cos the people are not even sure what to either classify themselves as, and nor do they identify and connect to the city and its history. So basically rootless ???? This is why people fled. Cos they don't even connect to the city, and why do they, right ???? You do actually realised that, in other countries, they aren't as socially mobile or as mixed race, as people are in HK ?... Right ?... Or even in Taiwan... You DO know this, right ???....

@noellecms : You don't know your history though, and this is half the problem too. USA used to also have a section of the "USA" to be actually part of the Spanish colony. English ships went all the way into South America, called the Spanish Armada.. and conquered a lot of land way back when. And the Southern part of USA is mostly Spanish? Where the Cantonese are now living overseas. This is why, in some states, they have stuck to their own language as well. In fact, English is the usage, but many people speak their own languages between families as well. And some areas, they do speak more of their language at the state level. So I ask you.... why should a Canton region, whose heritage...(the longest history)... is with the Yue language, with the Bai Yue people... Today, cannot speak a derived version of Yue, called the "Cantonese" ?? WHY ???? Even if some part of this language, created the understood modern day "chinese" or have merged and integrated as part of the "Hans Chinese" language.... EVEN if this has actually happened, you should NOT forget its original roots !!!! Which is YUE. THAT is the language, and you could loosely say that "Cantonese" is a "derived version of Yue" !!!!!! Some scholars in HK do not accept the idea of "Cantonese"... sure.. they could say that.. because the original name was Yue. And I can tell that, SCMP as usual.. have super uneducated individuals.. and again, blasted the usual junk as well.... There is a lot of loan words in Cantonese today that comes from the English language. There are some written old Hans Chinese that is also added to the Cantonese language today. This is why Cantonese = Yue + English Loan Words + Mixed merged Wu/Min Nam/Gan etc etc.... as written today and incorporated under its new(?)/own 9 tone system.

@yaboobayyaboobay8191 : The problem is that, non-Cantonese, and non-locals run HK now. When the original comment meant "HK citizens run HK" (at the time that it was implemented, it meant, "HK (cantonese) people run HK"... Who have ever heard of a HK Cantonese city, runs by migrants ????... You tell me. Even this is not the same in the UK. UK would always be British.... or the descendents of the King or the Queens are put forward as well... You now have actually.. people running over others and bullying over others as well too... but why ??? If you mean CCP Party, then why don't you say it's the State Council ????

@WokOverEasy : It is really very bad... cos this time I went back to HK with my nephew and his GF... I went on my own... and then actually, even noticed that my journey back there this time round.. was with a lot of issues and problems too ? The lady who I tried to be friendly with... and spoke to her in Cantonese... She didn't respond back. Then I spoke to her in English and she responded. I didn't know that she isn't Cantonese actually. Then I asked politely whether she thinks it was something wrong with the actual airline and door, cos the sign does not match that of the plane. It's in the opposite doorways. She said something not very friendly or direct. Just something very blunt ?lol.... That shocks me a lot. LOL.... And then I turned to the student... and asked him politely in Cantonese, what does he think is going on. He politely answered my question. I have never ever ever had this sense of "somebody is very afraid of me".. feeling... ever... Especially when going into HK as well. Never never never. Ever. With the kind of things that I read online today... from the Singaporeans or from the Malaysians.. and the Fuijianese speakers. I am shocked, horrifed, and very upset.. imho. REALLY upset.

@WokOverEasy : The antagonism is happening is because, some people are misabusing their position and themselves as well. That is why. It is not worth it any more in HK... Cos.. the city's focus is to allow around 40 million each year into HK. So many individuals are too tired to entertain others.. Sorry.. but this isn't the HK that I know ? Or need or want ??? People forget that it just used to be a nice small village... Please stay that way. For those who wants to make money. Sorry but.. please stop. Stop. Stop. @timetraveller2300 : 一些海外僑民都在談論同蝦海外嘅其他華人. 所以佢哋忘記咗自己嘅祖傳土地，都唔記得埋自己。即使佢哋有權住喺嗰度，佢哋都被推土機推倒埋？？ There is a small selection of people who lives overseas and actually bully cantonese people, so that they forget their own ancestral roots, and therefore claim or lay claim to their ancestral lands as well. This kind of land dispute and tactics is common... especially when it is coupled with foreign business or commercial companies... etc etc... This is NOT acceptable !!!!!!!

@WChocoleta : I think you will find that the population of Cantonese in HK is actually really low ? The figures is something like 30%.. the rest are not Cantonese. They are either foreigners, or mixed-race cantonese, or even SE Asians.... or whatever... Not all of them are caucasian either. So there we go. They "look" chinese, but are not Hans Chinese at all. I mean.. you did not know this fact? Even in the UK, there are government surveys... so everybody know where they stand. So how come this isn't accepted ????

@kullervoson2726 : This is the problem with the internet and the social media as well... If the Queen... (bless her).... was still alive, and she told you that she is speaking Queen's English, would you question her? No, you wouldn't. So when a Cantonese is using English to tell you that you are wrong, then why won't you believe them ? Since they are local to HK and is able to speak the language, and tells you exactly why they think is important, and what other things are going on. So since they do that... why do others dispute this fact ?!

If your ancestors are actually from those hometowns, then move back to those hometowns. DONE. Do you know that, everybody does that as well ? They move back to their ancestors' hometowns... even in Europe.. it is the same... When Europeans were open door and had to do business etc. They move to their grand parents' towns or cities.. or whatever... And they discuss how to move on together. So why is HK being used, and being scapegoated? Like it is OWED and being used as a minion ? Why ???? So speak in those regions and areas then.

@tan9928 : Technically speaking, there should not be the concept of "mandarin" at all... No such a thing, and it was only the overseas' dispora in the likes of Singapore or in Malaysia, that took upon themselves, against the so called 1.4 billion people fight. And then, they tried to get the UN on their side as well... instead of focusing on what is inside the mainland China... No such thing as "mandarin" since the speech that people speaks in Singapore or in Malaysia, or their mother tongue, from the region that they were from. i.e. Fuijian or from Canton... Some spoke Teo Chow....

You are wrong here. In HK now, there are strict preservation laws coming through to preserve the local languages. Weitou. Hakka etc. tanka etc.

@JohnR.T.B. : Bingo... IF those parents are mixed race. That is if they mixed and intermarried, then their child seems to learn anything. And by right actually... some of the laws, that is if you accept chinese laws before even these kind of various "grab a law" and the current "grab a politics" kicks in.... This is why today, HK is lawless. Despite the so called continuous media portrayal and those citizens in describing that it has a legal framework to them. Cos frankly, they don't have it ? And people are not correcting this because of what.... their assumption that this is too far gone down the lines ??? And they refuse to prosecute the individuals.... And it goes on and on and on. Two wrongs do not make a right. But at the same time, you cannot keep going downhill.... and keep doing the wrong thing !!!!

@zacharycohen9985 : Because of the internet and of social media and because of the strengthening of the UN participation and the strengthening of the CCP party ... they are making assumptions and overtaking others politically when the original ideas or promises are not and should not be this way. That is why now you see those so-called officials as having the rights ? Cos they deliberately locked the law to trap you. And this is the fault of some overseas diaspora in Singapore or from malaysia doing business inside and increased those people's powers and greed.btgeregore this is a firm of kowtow exercises. Despite the fact they are protected under the constitution. The constitution stated clearly that you are allowed to live in your community and protect your families. The interviewer also made a mistake because Hakka and Hokkien are similar and are part of the Main nam grouping. The BBC way that languages are studied and researched is not done in a similar way as the west or from some of the earlier teachers from nearby within canton province. That is why the education bureau from this angle has let the side down somewhat and are deviating.... there should be a kind of think tank collaboration. Education is nothing but merely to get the individual to find jobs. If there are state council jobs or a split of the state council to exist in HK and therefore the individuals need to speak mandarin then they ought to say so or to have explicit such schools and we know for certain and sure who would sit in those seats in all honesty then the rest should be allowed commerce or languages like Cantonese and English for the financial sectors and trades. Cos half the situation that the city is in is being manipulated here !!!!

She was wrong to say that, "there was a translation of the literary work into Cantonese"... That is the wrong usage of English, and even understanding of the situation. Basically, they translated a written book, in olden texts, into a modern screenplay. (With added speeches and more modern words.) It is like "interpreting" Shakespeare as it was written at that time, into the modern movie "Shakespeare in Love" movie. Interpretation into a different format, is not direct translation. This is wrong usage of the word translation.

Exactly the same in all schools and with all the other kids as well. If you were in Scotland, then Gaelic as well. This is a diplomacy play. So now that NSL is enacted.. should it be mandarin ? And yet, despite it being actually NSL... noticed, all the chiu chow.. the hokkien.. the Malaysian... the Singaporeans all inside HK.. refuses to accept the NSL laws as well. NOticed this ? They ran off. lol... Despit their insistent that, "mandarin and the love for the mainland"... If you went to Chiu Chow... or Fuijian.. ALL of their economies collapsed. ALL of it. They don't even pool together their money or get the financial flow going. So why is this then ? How come it is not working? And yet, it works in HK ? Why ? Ask yourself why this is ??? People know that they are their temporarily as well... and what is their money and what is not their money etc etc etc. People are HONEST from this aspect.

Sorry it does not include you ??? The official government name for HK was actually Sun On. You did not know this, did you ? It should indeed finally be accepted as this actually. The more I realised this... why NSL seems to be suppressing them. Cos they have never used media properly or formally portray what they want to say or come across. I cannot imagine how annoying it might be for the 1.4 billion citizens over the border to be seen to make such big assumptions... The translation angle or the piece written by scmp here isn't entirely correct. Cos frankly I expected an actual HK paper to guard the angle from HK itself than to generalise as well. The viewer doesn't know the history of the SE Asian readers or the history of those countries. So the starting point is kind of pointless ? You don't see this in the USA or in Europe. They always refer back to their history. But it is clear that HK doesn't. And lots of rootless migrants tend to run into HK for its money which I find surprising.

@ER1CwC : It is their hometown, and it is their land. Why is this arrogant ? They are at home. And the reason why some cities look "multi-cultural" IS because.... their family members married somebody of the opposite race. And they are and have an actual home. So why are YOU migrating, if your family is not from there? .... This is why some people would attack others really. If you have a Malaysian passport, then you are a Malaysian. No longer a Cantonese, or whatever. Cos you must know some of your elders. Everybody is happy about their elders etc etc etc... So... I don't get the points here.

@ER1CwC ; It is time that HK addressed the actual immigration issues that they are encountering? Time to truly deal with this as well ? Really, it is time. What does France's own political affairs have anything to do with HK's political affairs ? France also had an actual big colony as well... and it is now having the exact same issue as HK is doing.. with the people unhappy, and the colony's own people moving into France, which is fine. But then they aren't exactly gelling and working together either, which they should do and should have done so. But why ??? Even if a society is declining, they don't need migrants, that is if they don't actually have any kindof financial transaction or weight by other people. Just like, Japan has managed well here.. and their people work very hard to sustain this as well. They literally have a formal immigration process too. As in you cannot become Japanese either. So how come.. HK's immigration process has fallen over? Including their financial sectors as well ? Why ? Japan did not have this happened to them.. and yet, HK's become as such ? Why ???? HK have always had immigration control !!!!! I don't even understand why illegal immigration has ended up as actually becoming a "free for all" ?! It never used to be like this at all !!! Everything has gone downhill since 1997 !!!!!!! NOBODY was allowed freely to ENTER or to leave !!!!! So why do the individuals that moved back into HK or those that is in the civil service or the government dept assumes and thinks that this is OKAY ?!!?!?!!!!!!..... It is NOT OKAY !!!! HK before 1997, only had around 3000 high rises.. It now has around 9000 high rises, and it is EMPTY !!!! EMPTY BUILDINGS !!!!!! It does not and cannot even afford to keep those buildings !!! Chinese law stated clearly, if you are from this place, then this is your hometown. THE END. I am beginning to understand why Carrie Lam was in power.. same as Li Ka Chiu... actually. Both of their ancestral graves ARE in HK... So why should they NOT be in those positions ???....

What if HK is fighting against the foreigners or the actual uncontrolled immigration????... Back off !.... For a small city of 8 million. Transit or pass through numbers are 40 million. Either you are crazy or something is wrong here. And I don't see scmp writing the proper article to cover this. "Intense influx of migrants and foreigners caused the social situation...."

Even during Imperial China's time.. there isn't this much BS. Really. Just because a city or a country gets involved in trade, does not mean that the locals, or the soviegn people, gets to be 1) killed, and 2) their life destroyed, and 3) they are marginalised on their own home turfs !!!!! If there are no more chinese inside China, is it still called "china" ? NO. It is NOT "china" any more !!!! @kennethwong5725 : What some of you people in Malaysia does NOT know is that, you need to stick with your own language, cos it was the Chinese Tang Code... (that is, Imperial laws) that dictate, that you should, and ought to actually speak and to live within your own family's land, or premises. So many, when during periods of war, or that they were paid to defend the borders and boundaries, often, went OUT of their way.. to destroy other people's actual land, as well as leaving their own borders. You don't see this kind of behaviour in any other countries, like in Europe or the USA. Cos normally, those borders are controlled borders? You have to tick a box or fill in a form if you leave the land, and before you enter etc. This is the same with the USA too. So I don't get why some people in SE Asia... keep on complaining, about XYZ... and literally NOT stick by the rules.. and stick by their own duties to live within their own borders. And because SOME people DO NOT do this.. then the rest doesn't either.. and then we have fights, deaths and chaos... Which is where we are at now. Even and especially with HK as well.... Like VERY BADLY ?!!?!!!

So ? Britain speaks English cos the Scottish King gave given his land and people to the English Queen. And promises were made etc on this. They signed a contract. Nobody has given away HK..... When Carrie Lam.. whose maiden name was Cheng... some people say that she is her family is the earliest settlers in HK. Hence she should rule. But those earliest were not Chinese. They were a Muslim. So this is why UK steps in cos they say that it was anti Muslim within the prc. I never clicked on this but the media now white washed it all.. cos china stepped out to say loudly that they are against radicalisation and terrorism. I.e. Muslims converting Chinese. So you are implying that Malaysian which is a Muslim state ought to actually be bulldoze over HK and absorb it as part of it's empire? Watch the fireworks fly off !!!!!! And now the media plays the other advocate and says that mainlandisation is happening. Sorry but please kick out other SE Asians from HK please. Kick them out. HK chief exec should revoke HK Id cards one by one and comb through their family tree. Check by DNA. Sorry but they should. No wonder I was beaten to a pulp by Fuijianese aka Malaysian in the UK too. Mandarin should NEVER have meant " a language", it should have stated as "Business Chinese" instead. Cos if this was done and taken.. from the very beginning, then we would NOT be in the current situation now. Those who were taught Chinese, from the beginning, accepted this, and continue to practise as well... FYI.. Learning a "language" in Chinese culture means "working as a civil servant". You need to see the contexts of why some people could speak Chinese, read or write, and some cannot, read or write and why.... Some books are not even allowed to be accessed to certain people and individuals either. And to be frank and fair... isn't this the same even in the many many countries? It IS !!!!! Even the magna carta in Latin is not accessible by the average man. They have to request to have a look at it only, and it is hidden away.

Just that, when the financial or the Asian financial crash happened... Japan took care, and they retreated and defended themselves, even though they were economically depressed for a long time. They stayed and managed life. Whereas South Korea was kind of in decline, but didn't... And now, the same with HK as well... The people didn't stay in HK as well.. Both the people are becoming extinct and the languages too.... but people don't think like that because both the people who lives there and are in the political positions doesn't care ???.... Originally only the migrants would be there. Even in the UK you see communities sticking together. So you can guess why fuijianese or the other accent is being supported.... This only happened because the locals were not bold and bossy people to fight their corners. Games were thrown at them as anybody testing this would then mean you are causing an offence or causing a fight. So then people have off. The point is that some individuals are trying to discriminate and/or attack others on a personal level when they dictate that you could have the right to property and to have a family in HK. And inside the PRC. This.. is stopping people from working to get a job and to survive cos they just changed the Cantonese words . So that means what.. you are cutting off somebody from being themselves ?????? All products and all trades have now changed from Cantonese ? People buy the wrong things ? People eat poisons cos their names and translation went wrong ???!!!.... What you were taught before has affected your contracts ?? And you are no longer understanding your sectors and more ?

@thecrab3128 : Cantonese, is what English speakers know the language as in HK. But in reality, the correct assumption and fact should be that, people in HK speaks "Yue".... To say that somebody in HK speaks Cantonese, is kind of romanising the word "Yue" as Cantonese instead. Just because it's in the English dictionary. The reason why people are kicking up a fuss in HK.. is because, BECAUSE of overseas' pressures from Westerners as well as countries like Singapore and Malaysia and Taiwan.... who speaks fuijian/hakka/"mandarin".... now, their assumption is that, HK should too. When it should not. Cos they are different race of people. All you need to know is that, the Hakka (fuijianese) moved and was from the shipping city too of Fuzhou.... and because they kind of invaded HK a little bit as well.. and spread to Taiwan and also spread to Singapore... And some into Malaysia as well.. they also WANT to invade to HK too. This is why, some people pushes back quite a bit ! There are some Hakka people in HK who blends in by speaking Cantonese, so that people assume that they are Cantonese/Bai Yue people.. when they are not. It is all to do with trade, and money, and capitalism etc etc.... It is not asking for special treatment, it is telling others to "back off".... from invasion.

@lisettemak2076 : The way that it should be taught, is actually to teach "粵語 (Yue language) aka 廣東話 (Cantonese speech)"..... The Yue Language and then the differences between that and also Cantonese as well. I bet nobody taught the English loan words inside Cantonese, and that is why they don't know it. And we have never classified a word like, calling it a "slang" either.... or idioms... etc etc etc...

@dphuntsman : There doesn't need to be a "Common Language", this is the move of the Eight Nation... and the idea and the concept from those from other regions and such like.. but to be fair.. even if they were and are taught, they would NOT necessarily still be accepted into different regions to begin with. Why ? Cos they don't accept as "their people". There is a concept inside China which says "our own people"... That is, there are established family ties, and clans.. and societies and communities. "China" is made of around at least 120 or whatever "countries".. by European standards. The word "dialect" is a modern made English terminology. Considering that even just under 200 years ago... Many cities across the globe had no electricities.. and that people could not speak or even talk...or even had television. Why do you feel that "Cantonese" is "wrong language within the PRC" ? And yet, so many people call "China" as "China"... and not as "the PRC".... The thing is, even their own internal media does not report and use the terminology "PRC"... Why ? Cos they fear that it would split their powers apart. Right this moment, there is the PRC... and then there is actuall many mini countries, which was never reconciled.. and media papers like SCMP is not helping. Cos it used to be a localised regional paper which covered the actual news. BEfore, originally it was owned by a chinese family... and they reported their angle.. because of globalisation, and because of various other treaties and contracts and promises both at the Eight Nation level as well as the UN level.. such that, even "non-countries" are becoming an actual "country" ?? People just became sheeps... and not even know their own rights? They assume the powers.... THAT is what is going on here. And THAT is why people fight.... Xi did not even entered the borders and boundaries into HK when he visited. Why ? It is not ethnic cleansing but it is a violation of the nsl. The policy or the dept that is enacting this is actually violating nsl. Because it is against the prc constitution actually. And also.. the old imperial Chinese laws on the original foundation if such small towns are actually stared in the old imperial documents that it should be allowed to preserve its community and peace. So many, are already not cantonese, which is fine.. but in fact... this is very destabilising.. The Dutch, lost their empires, and they literally did not want their "mixed race children " to enter The Netherlands. Although do still do now. But the percentage is only low. Maybe around 10 to 20%.... This is why now, in Europe... the "far right".. is on the rise. They are raising themselves into power. And to be honest, I agree with them. I know that even my family have married mixed-race individuals too. But many married the same race. In my uni years, many went back to HK. And migrated back. The video is wrongly made, cos it does not reflect or match that of the chinese language at all.... and there isn't anybody of the actual significance to say such things either. Or the correct angle. This is why, you see Taiwan being so successful and yet, you don't see the same thing here in HK ??? Mandarin was and is meant to be a subset of the actual chinese language. Some of the language and the people from the North isn't Chinese... that is why, they are now using that Eight Nation notion.. to topple the final individuals that are chinese? Why ?
