The street and slang LA vibe does my head in. I hate this. I hate this. I hate this. And it is one of those typical Indonesia/SE Asian "whatsapp whatsapp Asian" thing... It seriously grates my goat. I am sure that even just like under 10 years ago.. This kind of talk, and slangs didn't exist in HK. And certainly not in SE Asia either.

HK has fallen. Really.

He's got that uncertainty and mannerism about him, his personality. But not his looks. He looks nothing like Edison.

Even the British Black communities don't speak like that. It is LA slang. Maybe if he had an old ghetto blaster.. we'd be in in. Anyway... am a middle-aged woman now. We've been there once... "Sup. Sup. Sup. Yup. Yup. Bro ! 123. Testing. 4890. Testing. Getaway getaway. Dup. Dup. Dup. Tub. Tub. Tub. Ka-Poo-Chee.Ka-Poo-Chee.Ka-Poo-Chee. ....Errrr...... Errrr...... " Saying that, we all have our genre and what we feel connects us as people. I think when I was a child, my English teacher did try to teach the lyrics and rhythm of decent rap to me as well. I remember that she tried to get us to write some lyrics and then to rap it out. Me being me, so confused... lol.. And not great in English at that time. I think I just didn't do such a great job in that. Ahhh.... well..... I think our identities don't really settle til around our 20s or 30s. I do connect and classify myself as British Cantonese now. So, this is soooo weird for me to see... how the culture of HK has changed, under a mere 10 years. I haven't been back since 2010.... This is really shocking, to be honest... And that area... the so called "drinking street" actually looks like an actual real ghetto? And not even a drinking place any more ? It's not that "old man's British pub to let out a sigh" kind of place any more... It is so "street and sex, drugs, and rock and roll" place. Which is super American.

@wanchai3870 : In what way ? Nobody cooks, or....

Why would there be halal food, if it is not a muslim city ? So you don't have veggie food at all ?

@qiminong5634 : Ronny Chieng is Australian. But he does have a semi British accent. Whereas these guys sound like they have an LA street slang sound. That's where their "sup sup sup sup hommie boyo boy boy " street talk comes from. Considering that HK was part of the British colony. How the flying !F did their slangs and those English had seeped into every day life in HK ? "Sustainable life... and every drink plants a tree (and money launder a large sum, bitcoin or otherwise from China into Indonesia.. or SE Asian countries... sup sup sup)". This is so so so !sht.

Because YouTube is an American company... you are accessing an online company... talking about HK. Did it sting ? I bet it does, doesn't it ? In how he portrays your own hometown that you are living in. In a proper media or jouranlistic work.. I don't think they would structure it into something like that. But in the YouTube world... these so called "powerful journalism"... They are REALLY powerful... and they can write in any angle. Part of it, is a kind of internet critique... others... They do make money from writing an article. This is how they make money. Whether good or bad. I don't know where Vice is from... but from where I am sitting. They are not doing that well.. to be fair...

Vice Asia seems like a.... "university publication".... kind of mag. Had a look at their profile, and it states "Singapore". It doesn't seem to be doing that well.. to be frank. Wried is a good mag. SCMP is a good mag. Vice Asia.. I read an article once. And then I stopped. Their publication on the other ones.. I am not so sure.. I also get the feeling that they don't know how and how to pitch themselves.... professionally. They also have a lot of weird English speaking individuals. Which I am sure is very "Asian" but not very European.... extremely biased SE Asian mixed. And this kind of thing is dangerous, cos they imported some of the wrong laws in HK and for HK... so now, it's a screwed up city. WTF...

HK needs to get rid of the tourist board. Have NO board. Either people work and go there. Or they don't. And don't harass the locals. THE END. If you are doing business, then do business. If you want to work there. Then past the Cantonese tests. Immigration control HAS to exist once more.
