@lordlee6473 : I used to have this phrase amongst my peers when I was a child.. and we say this, when our parents are pushy..."Yan Bei Yan, Bei Sai Yan"...meaning... "when you compare people to people, the only result is ended in death".... So never compare yourself, to someone else. Never compare the standard, that you are to be the same. This is a flawed thinking. Into the future, a society can only function, if there are nurses, and then there are teachers, or that there are farmers. Why should there be no farmers, and there are teachers? Do you not need to eat ? So you have teachers, but they refuse to farm. Or that you can know many things, but you never get an opportunity to apply it ? So many people learn so much... but they never apply it , at all. Ever ! So what is the point of doing that to begin with ?
And if you noticed.. a lot of kids in the US, are a lot more collaborative... i.e. They WILL work together, and be suggestive, and work well in a company. Look at the kids in China.. when they enter a company, they kind of turn into this hierarchial setup ? Like, they fall into line? Even when they should not ? Even if the structure is supposed to be flat. They will build up this imaginary structure. I think most companies don't like that... Also, most kids when they enter the companies... they also don't tell one another, mistakes are happening, so that collectively, as a company, they would literally resolve the issue. They literally would rather let the situation rot... and then they would get promoted, and then someone else demoted. This is like.... WHY does this happen? This kind of behaviour.. is why there is a lot of pollutions and things inside China.

This kind of thing, is what the older style of parenting and teaching does... as the society moves forward.. and laws are put into place.. This kind of thing cannot happen any more. Cos people need to work together and there has to be a more polite style.. and way to communicate. China is so big.. it is like 1.4 billion... That good old... "lecturing"... is still happening. But bearing in mind that, many women, are not given postnatal support as well.. when they do give birth. To get to THIS stage... a society HAS to pool ALL their resources together. If you look at HK, it is like that. Some outsiders may think that it is a wealthy place. But actually it isn't. Cos it is also a highly taxed place, you pay a LOT of taxes as well. And different kind of fines and licensing payments. But to outsiders, most people assume that this is what happens... but those taxes, goes to the schools.. Goes to the public spending.. etc etc etc... So yeh, it is somebody else's money that you are often using. But how many people literally accepts this?
Weird that, those "tutoring schools" are now turned into NGOs.... Now, THIS is weird... Similar to the UK too. Many schools are now a charity. This is supposed to mean that.. Whoever pays or want certain skills, then the school teaches those skills instead, and be a lot more accurate. It is not a bad thing per se. If they turn into an NGO... then.. it means that, they HAVE to teach something of relevance. In a way, which is better really.

Bebe, you need to understand that, this is all "relative", you can not know "everything". Even when I was at university, trying to do my Masters... I feel bad.. cos at that time, Microsoft was growing as a company, and my research was based on something which they didn't reach. And I feel useless as well.. because by the time that I have finished, I can see that it is pointless. As I thought that it was to be useful in society, but it isn't. Something has been created and done already. So that is how "time perspective" is always is about.... I would not care much now these days... If I had a child in 2022.. I truly would not care THAT much... about their progress... and many companies, DO train you any way, regardless. What is harder in the future, is how to tie things together... and how much things have advanced... By the time you are ready, the world has moved onto something else. Connecting that... "what you are learning, will be useful in the future" is kind of gone now. There are many many many schools in the world, and they don't all teach the same thing. The teach different areas, and they use different method to teach. Just so that, a child can find the one that they like. Some schools are more logical, some schools are a lot more verbal.. and descriptive when they teach. All schools are different.... What I personally don't like, are children coming out of uni or school in China, and then often, they are, or have become aggressive.. cos they have been pressurised... That is not a good thing. Cos it is a kind of mental abuse. Your brain is still growing as a child... and is not able to... and should not be expected to... hold so much information. Is this why China has an increasing ADHD ? (i.e. Broken neural networks in the brain ?).... Those cramming schools are only good, if there are indeed a lot of state-owned enterprises, but since there isn't... and that, you need small businesses as well to make a society work. Why don't, or why shouldn't people be left to actually do some kind of hand holding... and let their own EQ shine through ?

@peanut5952 : What is wrong with this ? Even I was taught basic things like that when I was at school. Just learn how to wash, and then how to cook a few dishes. Main courses, and then desserts. But most importantly, it is the PRINCIPLES behind those concepts. Like, I can still remember.. and can know what are the raising agents inside a cake, inside a bread. What makes flour rise when cooking in the open. It is 1) eggs white, or 2) bicarbonate , or 3) self raising flour. When I see a child now, and they cannot even cook rice properly in a rice cooker. Or that, when they come to work in a restaurant, OR a fast food place... they would not know what is hygienic OR not ??!?! I am freaked out when they don't even know what is dirty and what is not dirty ! I was even taught how to wash dishes by hand, and why. What temperature water.. and what kind of detergents, and what are the chemical names of the detergents and why....
In recent years.. I saw a university student from China, in the UK... she BOUGHT A TIN OF BABY POWER for food !! Does she not know how to get rid of pesticides by soaking vegetables? Does she not know how to cure or help a gurgling tummy by drinking tea, or alkaline things like a soda, especially if you have had a heavy big meaty meal ? Does she not know how to calm these kind of things ??? This is what I find weird.... Or how to wash rice. Until the starch is gone, even before cooking.
I also recently saw a colleague using detergent to rub this plasticky coating from a pot. (But in reality, it is the coating of the pan, and it is not grease. She kept insisting that it was dirty grease.) How can you win these kind of arguments?!
Don't even start me on the video by China Insight recently on the ladies using the sewage oil... and digging them back out to resell. OMG....
The thing in China is that, it is not a case of people not knowing, or agreeing.. a lot of people inside China tend to also gaslight one another as well. Therefore, kind of creating this kind of "falsity".... and this causes further issues too. It then becomes a situation of "who do you believe, or not" scenario. Plus, often.. kids do not tend to speak out, even when they have been unjust, or treated badly.

Because that is not the way that the culture is inside China today. They lack the "EQ". So what, if they are clever, and has a high IQ. But EQ is something that is lacking.. and this is not something that even the Chinese government can control. Because... since there are around 1.4 billion people... So... what if everybody, did the same thing? Why is it necessary to begin with ? Many of the scientific stuff has been created and done already. So you need to learn the next generational thing. And not to walk the same exact path as before ? What if one day, they come out of university... and then find that, what they have learnt is already done. Either one group somewhere within the entire region of China has done the job, or got the contract. What will they do then ? Cry ? Feel that it has been wasted their time and life? So why not do something a lot more progressive, and happy for themselves ?
I didn't even know that "cram schools" existed.. This must've been created, in order to reduce the inequalities of different region.... but now that this is done, and ALL kids have a very good overall and general understandings, and then you have TV to learn from, books as well, and even social media. Exactly why do you still need "cram" schools ? You do not need this any more ! I don't think that the kids realises this... but for us bystanders, from foreign countries, who have been on the receiving end of their products that they shipped out of the country, we know exactly the figures, and how many and how much.... "Everybody" came from a village.... but there is no bad thing about that, at all. Some villages, pride themselves in being good at farming. My parents had their farms as well.. until it was turned into a city. I think people need to realises the importance of keeping the food supply chain going !

@DylanL814 : Did you know that in the UK ? Whether you are the farmer, or whether you are the lawyer, your "pay rates" are exactly the same ? The national minimum wage is exactly the same everywhere. Some rates may be higher because they ask you to work more hours. Some less. But the rates can be EXACTLY the same. Some may have the basic rates + set number of skilled individuals (divided by numbers), to get that extra tiny hourly rates added on top. So say there are more like 200 lawyers in unis ready to enter the work place, so it is around 200 extra out of the entire pool as a supply and demand. So most companies have a range to add up to.
I don't think people in China really gets their economy somehow... I really don't ? The reason why you seem to find some people being rich and some not, is because they are forming businesses,, and not being an employee. Most Western world have already established their businesses already... and wants employees. And employee's rates are already equalised to a high extent ? What China is trying to do, is to increase their USEFUL businesses... which it does not seems to be doing so well in. i.e. They are all copycats of one another, and do not connect one to be another's supply-chain, for example. Which is odd, imho. With so many tech booms over soon in china, then people will start to connect the dots...

Bella Delphino : Well... it is China's own fault for not splitting the country into managable regions and things like that.. I had thought that, each region may have their own specialities or things like that, but I was so wrong too. So what is wrong with just being selective ? And there used to be different languages as well, in different regions even... and even THEN.... that was "standardised"... Goddamn those people... I used to speak weitou as well.. and thanks to assy people abroad... and especially those SE Asians as well.... Just cos they assume that people use a certain language at UN level, then they themselves must learn this, and forget their own roots ? It is actually fine, not to know. In fact, in China, they need to DUMB down the damn exam !!! .... When people say "split", they mean to "manage separately"... and even THEN... people do not even know how they represent themselves.. and all of these so called irresponsible behaviours like crossing another region, without knowing their rules and goals or focuses....
When China do not "gets it"... the world is ruined.

@老脑瘫 : Can I ask you a dumb question... so, if you already have the land anyway, and it belongs to you... and that you can actually get the food, and look after yourself, and your actual farm, or your land... Why are you studying ?..... Why do you need money ? Cos you do not have to "pay or rent" from somebody, you do not have to pay taxes.... Why do you think that the "urban"... and the "villages" do not go together ? Today, inside the PRC... the problem is that... 1) The "villages", should indeed be farms... but they were built over.... and those who were the "elites"... They have NOT... bought actual.. OLD... and "disused lands"... and to use their entire lifetime to de-pollute the land.. from its toxic chemicals.... What if they used their money to do this ? 2) Urbans is just that... Urbans... but.. surely... there is, and should be a focus as well, to use the agriculture bank, and to detoxify the lands? Clean it up ? Why is this so dumb and not realised ? How come people went berserk and crazy on those so called
And why are those factories' goods, not held, as actual stock, but decidedly stock very cheaply ? Why would they NOT be stored ? Cos it HAS values...!!! Why export it ? I want to see "Safestores" in China... and also... Chemical cleaning companies, and detoxification land companies too....

It is because the government do not want people to waste money on certain projects. Maintaining a good financial sector is the most important in all honesty. But the situation is that, these projects are not useful to the most pressing issues inside China.
1) Their financial sector is collapsing, bank runs... high risky loans, unprecendented. Peer to peer loans. Solutions, inheritance financial products etc. Savings. Child savings account etc.
2) Pollutions. How to reduce the pollutions, why not find ways or to make businesses, that can CLEAN up their own water supplies, and things like that ?
3) Cancer rates. Pesticides in water ways, lack of good clean water. And by that, we do not mean the kind of clean water that you do not see rubbish in them, but clean water as in.. the water has no basic metal bits from the building and the construction sectors.. as well as there are no pesticides inside the water. How about building ionising machines? How about building water detoxification machines? How about planning and building good water ways to provide a good and clean environment first ??? And for those projects, you NEED people to come together and to do it. But the governments or the provincial governors keep saying that they want "businesses".. but in truth.. How can you ?
The education sector that you guys talked of... is not even the kind that solve things either... There is nothing wrong in making things yourself, instead of continually reselling things. Even in Japan... they still make those old iron kettles, from scratch. They still make their own plates. So how come China, do not stop with the factories, and start to raise their prices, and really make real items and customised designs? I don't like or want factory made items. I want higher quality products ! Something which is customised, and unique and has only 1 of !
Japan sells 1 item , it charges 100 pound.
China sells 100,000 items, and it charges 100 pound.
So when will China sell 10 items, and charges 100 pound ? A GOOD and a BETTER quality item ?

@hantaoj1911 : But you did not fill in the background information as well. Even though these "nobles" had titles.. say a military one, they are effectively, protecting their own lands ? Cos when they are Nobles.. even though they do not have the top seat, say that, they are not the Emperor... kind of similar to Europe.. the King... is whoever happens to be born of that family, and that wife. So since China had the concubine system as well.. and different races/dynasties... The child of other mini-Kingdoms... Those children, will get their fair share of designated and gifted land. So yes.. they are already landlords. So why do they need to work in the Imperial Palace to begin with ? The Imperial Palace is for the ruling King. all the other mini-Kings.... in their own mini-Kingdoms.. do not have to pay taxes either ! The commoners that do not have royal blood.. they are workers, they can end up to be farmers. And if the child of this commoner, manages to past exams...(and basically know how to behave and have manners and ettiquettes), then they can enter the Imperial Palace... and to discuss "how to control and operate the entire Kingdom with the ruling King"... He can then, decide or be given the chance and opportunity to decide on how to decide on his own family's destiny ? Considering that all taxations and things, are going to affect this commoner's life. He is there, because he has first hand life experiences... and not because he is like a bloodline lineage....
If you put it like this:
Main King - no need to pay taxes
Mini Kings - no need to pay taxes
Mini Kings - no need to pay taxes
Mini King /Military person - If there is fear that somebody will conquer and take their lands.. or that, the other regions are angry, and want to conquer all. Then this title is created, and they are basically waiting to go to war.
Commoner - need to pay taxes
Farmers - need to pay grains. Only after they have their fare shares, any left over goes to the communal pot.

@WhatWillYouFind : Isn't it weird that there are so many people who has been to universities in China, and yet, the total of that 996 life is like burning out an entire generation? You would think that somebody would've been able to design a better work life balance. Huh... I DO wonder... how many educators ARE teaching like FUTURISTIC things?! I bet not many. Why did they not designed and educated the next generation to take things slow ?
In Europe and in the UK, kids are taught relevance like how to survive in the city that they live in. So how come many kids do not get to learn how to deal with 996 ? I once saw a student in the UK buying baby powder to eat... This scene upsetted me so much. I realised that either she does not trust the food that is sold, or that, she is not, or doesn't know how to even deal with contaminated food either. She bought quite a few baby powder, cos she must've thought that it is full of nutrients and vitamins and things. I almost wanted to speak to her, about telling her that she could've gotten an adult supplement, or something. But I thought that might've scared her.... I now realised why so many women do these "recommendation" thing.. and is not able to differentiate between something.... Like, they won't have the basic knowledge somehow.

@bebecita3649 : I do have parents that were from Canton.. so.... and each generation, will naturally be better any way. And no, money is not everything. And yes, things WILL happen any way.... So why worry either way ? This double-reduction is a good thing. And each region, or each province, will have their own actual programmes and development programmes any way, right? No ? So go with that flow... The worst thing that you can do, is to compare one region's goals with another region's goals. And there are SO many things in the whole big world.. that you can learn. So many people, do not learn ALL that they need for a job. Although some things could be basic... but if you have not been exposed to it, then you have not been exposed to it. For a child, to know like 1000 characters... actually, that IS a lot. Even when I was a child, I only knew like around 400 characters or so. Maybe less, maybe like 200 characters. Whereas my parents. They were not even allowed to go to school ! My granma did not have the money to send my mother to a school. HOWEVER... things changes ANYWAY... and she does not NEED school. She learn to speak better by watching tv. And there was not even a TV in her generation. Or newspapers. Only some people read newspapers. Many elderlies cannot even read or write. Cos it was not even necessary. But my mother was a SUPER farmer though ! And she knows her TCM extremely well ! In reverse, does a child in China now, knows TCM concepts ? Do they know what is "cooling" to eat, and what is "heatie" ? Can they communicate what is a soup, and how to make a meal on their own ? Can they know how much water to drink, or how to clean their teeth, and help reduce bacterias in their teeth from rotting ? Children NEED to know these basic things, and to look after themselves. If they cannot even do these basic things, but cramming their brains with books and brain stuff. How can they even walk out the door, and be self sufficient ???
I have met GROWN adults in the UK... working.. and they don't even know what tooth paste to use, in order to reduce their own tooth aches !!! They don't even know the basics like, what causes tooths to ache ? All their teeths are rotted down to the core. And they cannot even communicate with somebody, and make a joke. This is the problem with people today. They cannot even "speak" properly ? Meaning, they cannot "give and take". Into the future, the chances of you needing to work with others, in a job, is going to be high... What are you going to do when you cannot work in a sharing way with your colleagues? Take them out ???!!..... All I hear is a lot of "she is bad, I am good". Many many comments online often ends up with this kind of argument....
China is already a middle class country, do you realise this ?????

@bebecita3649 : You need to realise something here. What you see others, others see you in. Even if you do not go to school, it does not mean that you are stupid. In the West, as you call it, you may see them as very wealthy or well off. However, they are also just in a system. There is no one better option, than another's. That is the truth. What rural kids can do, are practical skills. They know how to survive, learn to cook, and to learn to live in their environment. They know what to do. This kind of skill, is also not taught in schools in the UK, however, parents PAY money, for their kids to experience this during their holiday time.... Imagine that, big big big news title..."UK parents pay farmers to teach their child how farming works"...... Wow indeed ! I bet you do not see a situation in the opposite way, do you ? And yes, many people live in the city... but have they told you that they also pay taxes as well ? A lot of it ! Different ones ! I pay around 2 sets of taxes, and then even another 6 sets of outgoings. My water is rented. My electricity is rented. My money or loans are also rented too. I borrow, and then I pay it back for the entire duration of my life. Do you realise that is how people live? They live on "borrowed times", and "borrowed money" as well. So why are you obsessed with living to earn money ? The problem with China today is that they don't know what the rules that exist, is for... So they end up in a screwed up situation. Surely, you know that is how it works ??? I do wonder if any educators teaches you how to survive the system... and not how to actually... how to say... I don't know.
Even if you see a situation like in HK... around 70% are probably still the last generation's farmers.. and then around 30% are the next educated financiers... Even THEY... are trying to turn around the situation. Meaning that, the next generation of kids need to carry on the baton.. and knows and become financiers... HOWEVER... they need to know the history, not to realise that they need to walk through the exact same path, but to forge a new future model. That is what they are supposed to do.... So then it means that.. like a trickle effect.. it needs and it will trickle down as well. Some people right now have different opinions.. cos they cannot see the wood for the tree. It is weird, indeed very weird. What HK is going through, is from being a Royal-owned state, (there was safety), to transition to a federal money-led region, (post 1997) to a..... I dunno what it is to become... cos now the different parties are struggling to come together and make a decision, and NEW people are wading in to ruining the model. That I know that much.
Sustainable is always key.

@bebecita3649 : You also do not know that, others in "the West" has to pay a lot of taxes, and money for many things ? And we only "rent" for most items in our lives... So you assume that, this is a good way to live instead ? Most people do indeed work, but their work's wages only covers the basics of life. While you may pay like 2 yuan for rice, I pay like 200 yuans for rice. Did you know that? While you paid like 100 yuan for a mobile phone, or something. I had to pay like 200 pounds, back then it was around 300,000 yuans ! While you could catch your fish freely from the sea, back in the 1980s.... and then salt it as you like. I had to buy this.. sorry, my mother thought it was funny to buy it at... a mega whopping 1000 HK dollars !!! That is, 100 UK pounds back in late 1990s !!!! So who is RAISING who ? I refuse to raise people off poverty. Sorry, but I don't. While people have like kids.. and have extra kids. I use my salary.. as well as many others uses their own savings to raise like the next generation. China starts to talk about how tough it is to raise the elders, as well as a kid... Well, my mother has like four children. And now, we are 4 children, raising an elderly...(she is the only one left),... and to raise two next generation, as well as 4 adults.... on, how many income? Not a lot. Each generation has to be working, and earning. And even now, to run a household... on rising interests as well. Most people would literally live off their parents' inheritance, but most of us, doesn't. When you think about it like that, please spare a simple moment as to how others live. In my mother's generation, 3 generation lives under a single roof. In my generation, each generation runs their own household. That is 3 times as much. And energy bills, and taxes keep rising.

@bebecita3649 : when I was a child, my bus fare was around 10p, and then 15p. When I am now an adult it is now around 2.20. That is a whopping 14 times increase. Did you know that ? And housing, which was around a 4 times someone's salary, has increased to a whopping 15 times !!! In London, it is around a whopping 20 times even... and some people are doing the right thing to reduce this ratio... but others, really anti-social people, are increasing this and passing on that bad debts onto someone else !!! There is no room for an economy any more either...
You just need to understand how things work.. and there are now a lot more "charities" than there are companies and organisation... Just to tie over this rising inflation....
My point is very simple Bebe. You should not use the money on these tutorings.. but to use the money to feed yourself first. That is my point. And it is down to the educational bureau to deal with the differences in understanding, and absorption rates. When I was at uni, there are of course good candidates and bad ones too. Some kids can memorise better, others like to be creative more and learn by diagrams. Whichever way is better for the child, there is and should be no competition. It is down to the universities to draw a shallow curve and rate as according to the entire grouping !!! It is unfair to always expect an exact number !

-
@steviejohnson378 : There is an agriculture bank as well. So those rural farmers could indeed monetise their farms... and expand to have indeed a section to both feed themselves, and to feed others ? Especially if they live in a good region of good soil. It is just that, the local mayor/ccp members do not allow this to occur... So therefore they are stuck. Or mostly, some do agree only if they paid them first. Which means that, they have to pay a loan to them first.. even before going ahead. Well... what they should've done is indeed to build up the excesses stock first, and then when they have this, use the stock to go to a bank and use it as a form of collateral... and then, gain that loan, pay off the mayor, and THEN.... find ways to sell them online, or regions that otherwise would not get access to good items cos they are polluted. THAT should've been how you deal with those uncertainties...
If it was a clever mayor, then they should've set up a kind of provincial trust fund, or a trust of some kind that goes back to the region and the people. So that, regardless if he leaves his job, then the people would be taken care of etc with trustees... But I suppose this kind of model is way too advance for them. Cos I don't even get why they are in debts.
1
-
@ShadeandShadow4ever : I think that.. the way that china made money, has stopped them from doing the right thing. Cos they do not see cooking, as an actual skill, or an actual knowledge ? And they did not do this either, in a way to monetise.. cos land was free, and worked off from previous generation ? I like how Singapore approached things. Cos they also followed similar structures and ethics from Western model.. and classified their different TCM things, to that of actual science, as well as food production too. Japan is similar as well....
There was an actual documentary show previously from HK... that showed, how people, had started to misuse actual domestic items from home ? Like, they tried to use a mouth wash... for their facial skin care? Cos they say that it was antibacterials ? (But your skin is made up of different things to your mouth...) It was just weird...It is weird that people also do not follow the instructions !!!
I do agree that, maybe it is indeed time that... actually.... "education" is not getting where you need to be ? Maybe the concept of "apprenticeships" need to exist? That "sifu-learner" needs to be brought back as well.... That elders-youngsters concept of confucianism fell over... during communism, or whatever was raised as an issue in the North.. this brought a lot of destruction to society. I want TCM to be taught to kids today.. and continue to do so too... and at the same time, they need to also focused on planning and being responsible as well ? The country has reached a 1.4 billion people... Whereas other countries cannot, and do not dare to have more kids.. most people inside China, wants that concubine system, again and again ???? Surely... they need to find and agree to a method to solve issues? As drastic as it calls for.... Japan, did not grow to 1.4 billion. Under 70 years, it only reached 100 million. It is divided by province.. but each region is neglected... and they tout one another as well, to overthrow the weird goals...
