I was going to say, how come Birmingham has such a focus on the relationship of the state, to the wider community and things like that? It has never occurred to me that, kids in the UK, is not aware of the country that they live in? I can now see why he is "a focused community leader", or is awarded. Like a sheep herder, he is herding people into the right way. To focus on those goals to be achieved by the masses. This is interesting. Cos I had no idea.. how... and yet, I can tell you that, as I am a part of a "community"... or so the state's media will always pitch me in as... I only see these people, as certainly... "just someone who gets paid by the public purse". Cos how else, can one change their destiny and to get ideas in ? The very idea that, "to raise the elders in the community to be the higher pedestal" is exactly opposite to..."I need to do something for myself and for my kid's future by bringing in new ideas".... Youngsters want to have new ideas, they are born with the energy to have new ideas... But how do you make that movement happen, and to change the course of their own future's and destiny ????

@trulyexorcise2918 : It depends on how you see things, because some celebrities, do broadcast, and then they bring in advertising revenues, and taxes into the country. And I do feel for this actual group of citizens, because they don't know how to do that, or that they are so focused on their every day lives that, frankly, they do not have room to decide or to vote? SO.... but the overall feeling is that, as we like to live in stable and luxury goods, which we do deserve, the background structure which holds everything up, is falling apart? And this is why we have to focus and keep together more, and spend our energy onto consolidating the efforts to do just that. To be honest, I feel that, if the King nationalised the country again and bring back the state, then maybe we will all survive. The journalist stated that "rolled back the state"... Well... there has been many mini riots here and there...
I see this, and I recall my own history as well... Which was, moving everywhere in the country as a child, trying to sleep, and then waking up, and then going home nearer in the middle of the night, cos the take away just finished. Living a "half life". Half dying, and half living. Not seeing stability. All of this, to earn. They were such harsh times... I don't think that the state benefits kicked in then, I don't think. Or maybe it was not enough. Even if you have enough, then the food wasn't distributed or something. I can't recall the exact details.. but... I can see why, there is this big "elite and working class" divide, since yes, we have to follow the laws, but yes... if one has to work 24/7... then how come, boarding schools were not compulsory for kids to stay while their parents worked everywhere??? (As much as people associate boarding schools, as a form of "elite" education, I am not too old and not too young, to realise that, "boarding schools", were once upon a time, an actual sanctuary, for kids, to flee the city, into the rural areas to stay safe.) That was what went on, and that was what happened, and that was also how kids, with their parents working away, and that they stayed in a safe place, raised with food and shelter. I think so many people, do not want to go back to those days again...
There are lots of great books.... "Goodnight Mr Tom" is one. Another one... "The Railway Children"....

@andrew1bradley : The fact that you guys still remembers HK, or to even talk about it, means a lot to ME ! Cos I was born and raised with UK knowledge, but without knowledge of HK.. which was my grandfather's and my father's legacies... I have never actually met people who knew about those connection. Maybe TWO woman in the whole of the UK. In my lifetime. Unless you are the civil servant and diplomat, and making it your job to know... but so many kids would not know, does not know, and do not want to know ?
This is why, in Japan, the way that they tackled this kind of discrepancy in knowledge is to create games.. They make the kids play games, which the adults had made decisions on, and moved forward on already. That is how they could "relate" and also "walk the path that I walked through" and create that empathy thing ? I don't know what really is the "social contract" of this country. I am beginning to think that "I live for the moment"... and that my life is "all about to live for the moment, past on a legacy and be done with"...

@HH-hd7nd : Isn't that in general and everywhere any way ? What was the world like 20 years ago? Even 30 years ago? Why did people leave? Well.... In the future, you have to like the town that you live in, cos it will be locked down. I think. So... the whole EU thing, was really just a temporary thing, until... it gets to our current point. And anyway, why does everyone assume that things will go on forever? But I would say that, I would never have thought that... a family, to stay together as a family, is so tough, and so harsh... When I think back to that, I bless my mother, for her resilience to stay near her siblings... and that made my growing up, a whole lot better. In all honesty. To get anybody to work together today.. is almost impossible. Cos their agendas is always a case of, "me first".

I'm from Sheffield, and I lived in Manchester... THIS was what went on in the mid-1990s as well. And yes, it can uplift an area, but sustainability is also important too ? Of course, UK being the UK, we all fight for resources, and things... and then to turn things round. It's all there... Liverpool also used to have a lot of civil service depts and research in Universities as well. Their NHS hospital was top notch. And then Home Office used to be a big presence there. And that was also how the Chinatown and overseas dispora was created... I was raised in Liverpool before my mother moved me to a safer place to Sheffield to be nearer to her siblings... (for safety). The number of times that our take-away was knocked and broken into... Well.. it would raise questions why anyone would live there. When we were part of the EU as a block, Liverpool was one of the city that got a lot of investments and money, and that created their football team as well. And they tried very hard to entice HK citizens to come and live there and to infest. Well.. those who ran away... from harm, would not be the same investors, unfortunately.... Some random other chinese, from other SE Asian dispora of course fill in those gaps. When you walk away from a hurtful place.. You never turn back that clock. Or go back there. Again.

@sarahhumphreys3980 : Yes, but if people are determined, especially the mothers in that area. They should try and see if they can sublet a location... and run it as a social enterprise, and try and find fundings as well to subsidise this. And then organise things this way, to both actually find the best tax exempt method, and to do the accounts like a small business. But as a social enterprise as well. Only doing it this way, to reduce overhead costs in order to enable those parents to gain MORE from their earnings, would you then see, into the future, as a greater momentum to squeeze back round that inequality issue. They should save for a rainy day etc. Normally, some people would either hire churches, or mod con buildings, within civic buildings, charities buildings etc etc etc. (And even if you have donation items, just audit them, and to actually consign them into the social enterprise, even if it from parents nearby etc.) Definitely need a local (and someone who isn't in desperate need of money).... and then outsource the accounting, and find also one or two teenager part time to deal with the receipts, and to order them and be secretary, and then hand over to the accountancy firms to formally write them etc. If people could do that.... and to life off things... I think this would benefit a lot overall to any community.

You forget that other countries, would hate you for taking down Canada like that as well. Why ? Cos some of those investments, or those businesses, are also connected to other countries too. So for us Brits here... we also have connection to Canada... and our banks are connected or whatever. And you doing sometimes, pushing for these so called breaking the laws for the sake of the laws.. End up... what... It is not sustainable ?.... So... People that used to move to the UK, used to be 1) doctors... and 2) many were teachers from India... 3) they are engineers.... They are actually very well respected back home. And yet, you don't understand that... You have to pay 1) taxes, and 2) spend the US dollars as well... 3) rate of taxes, and rate of spending, and 4) the politics, and the voting.. and 5)... the structure of a country. i.e. Politicians. And voting. And the need to do business. The stock exchanges. etc etc etc. So yeh.. you may want to see "I want to do basic work"... but you don't understand and get the understanding that, SOMEBODY has to BORROW around 3 to 4 million dollars.. or pounds, to please you to earn THAT small amount !!!!!!!! Now that is RUBBISH !
