  1. UK had things like, PhD students washing pots and pans.... In the 1980s. Just because the actual wages were higher than an actual jobs or research project back in China. THAT was what was going on back then... But of course, everything is built in the past 20 to 30 years... many people are lifted off poverty level. Things have moved on.

  2. There are so many actual YT videos now online about the tech sector, about the low pay, or the various competitiveness... This is what happened. I never knew that this is what really happened. I just recall that.. after uni.. all my uni friends discussed the idea of going to California, or to Shenzen to build their high tech sector. I did not even know that the UK lost out to Europe.. and then reduced in size? I know that I moved away from my hometown... in order to find high paid jobs. I had NO idea... that,.... NO WONDER WE ARE IN A RENTEE CAPITALISM MODE !!!! I am so mad when I watch this video.... We rent everything, and is not in a position of economic control of our own ? That is ridiculous ! Japan is in control of their own destiny. South Korea is on control of their own destiny. Why should we keep renting from the USA ?

  3. 8.45 millions ??? Is this true ? This is ridiculous ! If it was not for this lockdown, then I do not know that this is what is going on... I don't understand.... Now I realised why, I don't feel safe like my childhood period as well. I thought that... I had no idea that the immigration numbers are so high. I still recall that immigration control was a lot tighter ?

  4. She doesn't even understand what she is saying... And as much as she "sounds" good, and her English is good, she has no background historical info about immigration, and how Britain was related to the wider world... I cannot believe she works for the Spectator ! This is so weird.

  5.  @batman76781  : You may think that her BS is okay.. but many people inside China, do not classify themselves as "Hans", cos there is MORE than one type of DNA and people inside the PRC. The reason why she says that is because she actually wants to follow the propaganda of the country, or else she may be in trouble. If it was so united, then the KMT would not revolt ! What ended up happening is that... each region is governed by a sort of provincial governor... in some Western academic books, it classified as "war lords", but far from it. They are the civil servants/mayors, whatever you like to call them, but they govern the land, or even go as far as to own the lands.... Some people do not say "I am not chinese"... but most chinese people will always and often say "I am from Canton (province)"... or "I am from Fuijian".... to denote that.. "this is my birth place, and this is my private land, where I was allowed to live cos it belonged to me". Now, how many people would ever say that ? Some of the people who moved around, is possibly... either the .. result of the past wars... or the result of conflicts.... THAT is what really went on. Know the difference!
