@CarlH08 : It is really weird. The maid should not have gone on holiday but stayed at home and continued to clean instead. That is the wrong move on their part of the employer... So now, they basically trafficked their own maid into international shores? How are these educated wealthy individuals ? Don't they know the laws ?

@laika3916 : They contacted the actual NGO didn't they? This is like a diplomacy move as well since.. If you are a Islamic man, can you have marital affairs outside of your marriage? No. You cannot. And under Sharia law.. it is the woman that gets the beating, and not the man. So.. what does this woman do? Since she is from the Philippines... and not from the Middle East or is living in the Philippines ??? She is taken out of the situation. Cos when under the UK's position.. she is allowed to call the NGO... (IF the family is a diplomat as well.. then this is being "diplomatic" from the view of the British government as well isn't it ?) Cos then.. this should be dealt with by the Home Office after that.... and maybe with this NGO to get the individual back home into the Philippines. (I don't get the part about "rehibiliation"... cos there is nothing to rehabilitate. She just admitted that she was raped.) The NGO is then bridging the gap between two governments.... Should the UK not then try and send her back to the Philippines and contact the Philippine's Embassy? They should ! And they should be made aware of this as well !!!

This happens in HK as well.. and then the Filipina actually gets the house, and then they get the entire property of these individuals. The fact that the UK government steps in and to stop this from further happening is pretty funny. Cos in HK.. nobody bats an eyelid and then they are forced to fly in between those countries.. and then give up half the wealth which is supposed to be for their descendents, to be given away into Philippines.... (To say that people are not angry is an understatements as well ! And HALF the media in HK is dominated by SE Asians as well... so they don't actually report this kind of biased and hidden news too.) NEVER. This is why HK Government is pretty bratty, useless, and hysterical.

@user-SubvurzIV: If they are trafficked into the UK.... when you do get them to be in a safe place. Should you not then find some ways to contact the Philippine's embassy and get these ladies back home? Cos frankly, that would be the actual and best way OUT. And for this family... whatever cleaning or whatever work they need doing. Don't they know that, this should exist in the UK as well and start to coordinate things? And why don't they actually hire a PA as well, to deal with these kind of administrative issues etc ? Rather than to do things like this ? They ought to know better? Cos frankly, they just dragged somebody from another country, into elsewhere.. whereby, they have no right to go to ???..... I find it more and more bizarre.... And there are a LOT of lies at the moment in the UK. And even online. Giving out false info etc.

Is it very weird what these people are doing. Similar to the gazillion amount of individuals who "I just happen to enter the UK, and then I found a job...but I never changed my visa to match this job"... business. VERY VERY WEIRD. And the UK's Immigration Dept is kind of letting the side down, cos they don't take ful control of the situation as well. And half the people who works for the UK's immigration are now immigrants themselves, and doesn't even double check the laws first. And then some idiots think that it is pretty good to outsource the work.. and then so we have this now. Trapped. Now that we have brexited, I bet that the UK is loaded with lots of irregular records etc.... Like, those who came and went etc... Just lots of it.

@EmilyJohnson-jh6jd : Cos she is the wife automatically.... and by law, in HK, this is also as such too, unless disputed in court to reverse such decisions etc.

@susannehartl3067 : Is this like an actual deliberate mistranslation here ? Yes if she was a butler then sure. But she is a Philippines national. Her agency would be from either the Philippines side or the Middle East side. It is between their two countries. And if she exits out of that Middle Eastern country. This damages her agency contract already. She cannot be taken out of the country. So your assumption of she needs to stay with the family is false. I bet that the family knows that they are in a risky position therefore instead of ending that contract early and let her go home. Which should be the right thing to do. She was.. in an indirect way smuggled out of the middle east using a wrong form of paper work to enter into the UK with. That is why they take her passport away from her in case the situation gets found out. These families are not stupid. And I bet that this is overlooked because the UK as a country are owed the Middle East a lot right now. But still....

@oo1straub665 : Technically there is a loophole here. Cos the visa is issued but it is maybe between Middle East to the UK. Not from the Philippines to the UK or whatever. It's like a separate contract that sits on top of their existing one in the Philippines to the Middle East contract.

@ykjo5613 : And you don't find it weird that such ladies, are in such positions... and at the same time, do you not see their luxury handbags as well ? Even the local Brits cannot afford what they could.... I find THAT hilarious, in all honesty. ("I am a director of an NGO... and this is what I do for a living.... and yet, I can afford a handbag, and I could deal with such people.") WELL.... Phippines is NOT a third world country, for sure.

@saraswatkin9226 : Hong Kong.

@ikonographics : This is one of those situation though.... the contract that they have in the Middle East, when they sign them over... from the agencies.. SHOULD dictate that, they cannot be moved from the Middle East into the UK's territories. Whatever Middle East signed in terms of contracts... from Philippines, has ZERO to do with actually the UK. And the fact that these "NGOs" in UK's territories as well... WHOSE money, are they using for this purpose ??? I don't get this. How do they operate ? Cos frankly, their budgets should not exist. Cos this is an actual commercial issue ??? Is it cos the King has an actual direct trade with the Middle East.. such that, this could happen ? Cos frankly, it shouldn't have happened, not on his turf.
1
@thebobbrom7176 : I am talking about their commercial position... and yes.. I can see that they are scared, and is in a situation that they don't want to. Can't deny that. This is true. You would think that somebody would deal with this issue as well.

Worst than the Europeans that takes out personal loans to support an actual company that they work for ? Not worst than that, right ???
