@soontatt4563 : China did not "reject" as such... But an "Empire" is only created, if the people without the group of civilisation agreed to it. So.. the story goes that, there was a group of civilisation around the "Xia" location.. and then people have families, and then they expanded, and then the decision of division of labour, and resources happened. So rules are made up along the way. Then it came to a situation such that, families, can only have heir... if they are part of the surname, or the "clans". The last of this "manchu" empire was because there was no son. It ended. Also, they did not manage the relationship with other territories well. So this destabilised them. Some regions in China, are "fought for"... Others are "managed". Managing normally means, to be able to provide for the people.. and willing to sacrifice to those who also sacrificed for others too. So money, to make money.. or money to use for building for the future. That kind of thing.
I read a lot during this lockdown. I read that, Puyi's brother had a son... So his family lives on actually. In Japan. (I think he is now part of the civil service within Japan. i.e. Part of the government.) Which is kind of ironic if you think about it. Cos it was the Japanese war... onto Manchuria... and then...

Western society would not understand this. Just like, Eastern readers would not understand Western politics.. and their history either. I do not get Northern China's history... I mean, I have not been able to find the info about it. I think Western readers will think "Why does a child, becomes an "Emperor""... It is like saying in Europe, a child of 8, can be "King". This will never happen. Or cannot happen. A child cannot rule over adults, this kind of thing. In a way, he was also betrayed too. Cos if they work for him, then they should be loyal to the idea of the Empire. But it did not happen that way. I mean, even the Queen of England was a child ruler. Around her teenage years. But the most important thing was.. She had loyal subjects. i.e. Those who works in the government, was super loyal.

@tengteng4076 : Many people feel sorry for Puyi... but you have to remember, his parents had him, for one reason, and one reason only, which is to rule. So he was born under heavy circumstances... and... Well, the system works in such a way that, if the previous concubine did not have a son, or is waning, then the next one is followed up. This is what really happened. Instead of letting go.. and passing the opportunity onto the next concubine's son.. His parents, decided to put him forward. The way this works, is very different to European ancestries... and many people dispute the theories behind such things in China. Cos, via a Hans geneology... would this method chosen by the Qings would work ?? Why would there be this adapted way ? I mean, if you compare what happened in the mainland, to that of Japan, or that of South Korea. They kept their geneology... 200 years is not that long a time. Not really.
