@MatthewKth : If you see the edit from his video.. about the guy who lit the oil lamp in the tibetan ancestral temple.... you can hear what he said ??? So.... He said that they had to run away from their own hometowns because of fights/political turmoil. So then they ran away to protect themselves. And this is why they still speak Tibet. And if you understood the temples. Those aren't just temples like in a religious sense, they are the ancestral halls of those families. Some people, without means of work.. as in farming on lands. They live in those temples via donation. Cos they don't and can't fit into the existing society. Kind of like nuns in convents. Since everybody is married, and some extra people are left over.. then how do they survive if not to rely on donations and to look after the ancestral temples and such like ? Orphanages are the same... unwanted children and nobody claimed them. So..... People need to understand the structures, and the wordings.

To the international viewers, let's set the record straight. Yuen long is kind of like a suburbia village. From my last recollection. It was based on a village model to begin with. I hope that it has not commercialised now though. Their lands shouldn't be sold to commercial property developers to begin with. Why would you drag two random foreign army men to some of the strong indigenous classical and traditional Cantonese villages and then kick off... Make a scene... Creates the videos.. the movies... Why ? Just cos the state council let go of primary sector work and wanted tiertiary work now after the WTO?... And now, you have pockets of regular people doing life the best they know how cos they've literally been left behind. So now self indie movie making is the big businesses of the day ? .... Absolutely trash. Really.

@Music4567able : If you really really want to know the history of that Kowloon Walled area.. This is because when the Qing dynasty ceded that area, to the British for ownership. Any other province's people.. cannot enter Canton then. So what they did was, they entered an area... that would have Chinese Imperial laws.. and then they would hide in there instead. Cos the other lands, they know that they cannot enter. This is why they go in there. And often... people will end up in there, if they already knew or had families in there too. So some of the people.. from a bystanders' viewpoints as well... When they say that it is full of "prostitution"... They better CLARIFY to see if this WAS SO THE CASE FIRST... Rather than to realises that, some of those were husband and wives possibly.. but puts up with sh!ty living conditions by moving from their own rural farming communities !!!!!! Since nobody could talk.. or nobody could speak.. or checks.. or whatever.... People just assumed that one thing go into another and into another etc. Shouldn't really praise this kind of place. Cos it ended up as a horror place... Even if some of those were genuine local Cantonese from over the borders.. of which they could enter HK. Unlike the ones that couldn't enter HK... like the Fuijian regional people.. but ended up there.. And the British allowed the "inter-provincial clan war" happens and take place !!! e.g. Hakka-Punti Clan wars... This is like the same thing now happening all over the internet. Somebody creates a website.. and then takes photos of somebody else's home.. and then sell it and takes the money. Even though the house does not belong to them. This is stealing, isn't it ? Chi sin !!!!!!! Even if you were born in HK... you won't know.. cos it does not concern you, at all ?! And what the previous government should've done is to reduced trade or immigration as well. But she did not. And this didn't happen either. So this is what we got... And cos you guys don't learn Cantonese as well.. never mind the basics.. the deeper meaning as well, you won't even understand or get.. or realises, at all ? And even when we had those British educated people that were also British Cantonese AS well... even THEY did not get what is going on.... So yeh... it loses really !!!! I think if you went before 1997... and when there were actually locals and also overseas' chinese.. at one point.. It was quite a safe thing to do. But nowadays.. from what I can see.. I don't even think that it is safe for a Westerner either... If you ever been to a club in the UK. Similar thing too. That kind of "self deprecating" self discipline thing.. and by that, we don't even mean drugs.. or sex and roll. People were a lot more respectful to be frank ! Why ? Cos people were very anti-establishments at that time.Or some people were quite anti-war.. cos they don't want to suffer.. or is anti war. Now ? Now... I think the average person might think that you're targetting the women as well !....

It's because some of the "mandarin"... like the Northern "mandarin" is actually a form of Russian/Korean/Manchurian.. forced into Hans writing character sets/system. Whereas Japanese, the language, they kept every single type of language as separate and in its own distinctive written form.. to keep integrity. This is not what happened with Mandarin. Again..... depends on where you go.. people argue about this too. Until some bullying police man or academic.. force this onto you.. Or else be incriminalised. This is how it usually goes.

You should've stayed in the YH in HK... and not anywhere else. Or in some of the more remote villages... and those rentals... Than in the city centres, which can be quite hostile.. and weird too. I think most people don't think anything of it.. but if the history were translated.. I think most people would be surprised. Cos I was surprised too !!! I had no idea !!.... And I am supposed to be from there as well.I didn't know it was or had become such a hell hole....

You should not cry... cos council housing.. in the UK is meant to be for the locals. Cos they have a right ? In HK.. it was also meant for the locals as well.. but the PRC government, tried to move MORE outer provincial regional people, into the HK housings.. This caused a lot of anger too. Cos the ones that didn't get those housings.. were.. or could have been the ones that made the business rise.. or worked away from HK. So they should deserve to move onto the housing. Like, some of the children of the adults that supported the city for example... But this never happened... and whereas this is usual in other countries... Cos if you paid the taxes.. then it is the next descendents' taxes surely.. to get those housing... But instead.. outer city's citizens got this instead. This was the beginning of the end really. And now.. the dispute is really beginning.. because of the transition of the British government's legacy... From public funding, to actual... public/private commercial property handling. So now, they messed up.. and subsequent changes are also messed up too. From a mere simple thing is now turning into an actual.. bad situation... Cos the legal dispute is immense... (and these people don't even have the legal framework to discuss or to enact the policies)....

@UntangledKnots : There used to be a better integration all around... before the "opening up" period... And before the so called trade deal that Mrs Thatcher signed. If she did not sign the Joint Declaration... then PRC or Deng.. would not have used or expected Shenzen to become a "test site"... and the subsequent actions... and decisions as well... Well... NOW... it is encountering problems. But China ALWAYS hide their mistakes. ALWAYS. Always hide this.. and then always expect others.. across the globe.. to respect them... (By that, I mean, to still have confidence in their exports.. or to have used and buy their goods as well. And China, does not spend money, on their own people? So the rich people would not buy from the poor. For example. Whereas this is very normal for many countries. They DELIBERATELY.... to equalises as well.) There is also a lot of lies as well... meaning, even those who has to be responsible, cos it is their jobs. They don't actually take into account and admit their mistakes. Whereas people respect their company, or represent their companies, or families... People inside China often come across as insecure. Have been eating rice and soy sauces from the mainland. Have been to dining out for dim sums with families.. based on flours that were milled in HK. and tea leaves that were imported from the mainland. I guess.. I am such a betrayer... then. I suppose. What PRC should NOT have done.. is to joined the WTO. That was its downfall !!!!!.. It should've reformed !!! It created a so called "State Council" that looks like a so called central government, but this is nothing central at all. We.. today, have chinese people that aren't chinese in race at all... and mostly... chinese in nationality.... and land grab is happening a lot. And the older generation of the Canton's provincial governors and their descendents today have NO say at all.. about the future. This is weird.. even the Royal families in the UK... and their gentries..a re dominating political and artistis lives. They all work mostly in the public sectors... So how come HK is not like that then ???

Before 1998... Yuen Long was not like THIS kind of a hell hole, I can assure you of THAT !!!!! No wonder those younsters are killing people for it !!! If their elders.. people like me... went back there.. and stood our ground. Do you think that yu would not be forced to live in higher salaries to begin with any way ??? And why should there be this kind of chaos over there to begin with ?! As I stated before.. in 1998... I bought a mobile phone. That costed me around 400 pounds. And that equated to around to be 400, 000 YUANS !!!! WHO is losing here?!!!!! And today.. I still bank with sodding HSBC !!!!! OF COURSE THEY WOULD FEEL WEALTHY !!!! @Music4567able : That is because historically.... the "rural villages" were the original settlers of HK as well. They have been there, for a long time. This is why.. the distances between the the ceded areas, to the non-ceded areas is vast. This is up for discussion and for correct historical aspect. Did the British being there, also raised open trade between china and vice versa? Yes. Some people will admit it. But some people won't. And HK Chief Exec didn't exactly coordinated things very well either... 300 million versus 1.4 billion... This is a no win race at all. There did not used to be a State Council.. and now suddenly, there is one ??? And then even suddenly... World Bank could enter into the PRC.. and gives "financial advice"..... Now, many countries SHOULD be scared of this aspect. Cos why should world bank enter the PRC and let them manipulate the world ??? This is not, and how things should have gone !!!! Definitely NOT. You mean the local people who has been robbed and cheated and things... or that the locals cannot be declared to be living in peace? Wasn't that what "communism" was all about to begin with ???? It's like that everywhere.... and then... they eat all the food that are shipped into the city. And it is gone in a day. My city is the same. And now it is also a "ghost city".... too.... lol.... WTH. Similar to HK. Similar to ALL those other cities, and whatever... every single city and areas... and ALL the chinatowns... Now I get why some of the older Canto pop music always talked about "staying"... and people talks about feelings and relationships that makes people stay etc. People are becoming nomadic. But why ? Just a mere 40 million people wanting to do that, this itself causes economic damages too...

And I had absolutely NO idea... that the world.. and HK has become what it is really? And I am supposed to be from there also. The last time I went back was around 2010... and I am sure that, it was not that built up to begin with. As well.. as so chaotic.... and SO dense as well !!!! I cannot believe that some people say... I knew that the city had like around 8 million people... but I had no idea that, around 30 million people enter and transit through HK each year. That is a LOT of people. The HK that I still remember is maybe from the 1980s and the 1990s.... Frankly... I really don't even like the current concrete jungle place. At all. I don't know what the heck has been done to the city... and why so many "business people" transit via HK... and nor.. wondered why... so many hatred as well.. overall.. and in general... coming out of the mainland and from the mainland. AT ALL. !Ck.. the kind of thing that people say online as well... If they would not say such things offline, then don't say it online. I read about the density of people as well... and the expectation.. of say Shenzen... I never did manage to enter into Shenzen.. even though my mother wanted me to. But I really don't have a good outlook of the entire density jungle of the Greater Bay area... Squeezed into a 60 million existence. This is their intention. From a density of around 6 k per km squared. Can you imagine how HK or Shenzen will be ? ... You ever lived in the USA ? I really hope that China, or the PRC does not become as so. @Sidetracked_in_Macau : Do you mean by nationalities' status..... or by race ? .... So you mean Chinese race, but holding another foreign passport could enter ? Sorry... I don't quite understand. Sorry... some people often use chinese as a nationality... if Westerners write that, but I've been reading too much of SE Asian's inputs of late. I don't get the context. Cos they often mean the race. And not the nationality.

@Sidetracked_in_Macau : Oic... I think the restriction of foreigners could be related to the current virus disruption. Which itself can be an issue related to financial correction as well. In the past.. foreigners can enter is only because we can bring in foreign currencies. But if they restrict it. It then means that they want to control the flow. With around thirty million people from mainland into HK. This itself is harmful too. In the pre 97 days... Only overseas diaspora could enter with their tiny amount of foreign currencies for sending purposes. And we were bonded people before as well.. before the mega creation of the IMF and world banks and mega banks.. Even then... A 300 pound spending... Can equate to 400 thousand yuans. E.g. half a million... China didn't do inflation. They let it be created then send in the "earners"... Trickle down economics.

But if you understood Chinese actual history... what if her "tribe" is actually an Imperial dynasy.. or the dyng tribes? Then it means, in English word.. she is the Princess of her own tribe. Whereas in te UK, and in Europe.. we still have Princesses, and Princes.. and also Kings and Queens... And Barons... and Lords.... Everybody with an Imperial title... So that "girl".. just ran off her own kingdom, and into an "urban city" to be with her "Hans patriots"... And maybe in doing so... she is giving up her own "Kingdom" ????.... I don't know.. whether she realises how much.. she is kind of giving up.. in terms of powers etc. I don't think she does.
