1500 pounds, is a month's salary in the UK. Just why do this family puts up with it ?!!? Why do they not go elsewhere in the mainland ?? Surely, this kind of pricing, should deter them from entering HK to begin with ??? This is SO crazy !..... Why kind of work, do they do ? That can "afford" them this kind of "luxury". This is SO crazy. HK Housing dept need to send them away... and condemn these old buildings !!!

Wow I never knew that.... I once got assaulted by a chinese woman. And then also by an actual Indian.. or Turkish man as well.. who was hired by some chinese take away place.. and they stole my wages. Things never used to be like this. Even in my father's generation, it was never like this. Word of honor, and code of honor was true and true. Not this scammy way at all. This is disgusting... Even the previous generation and those communities would never have done the wrong thing. Not like this.

They did not say it on TV. They said it in a festival. And it is their competitor's that has filmed it, and separately broadcasted it. If the board of these kind of directors are financiers... What does that make the BBC ? Not publically owned ??? But yet, it still get a portion of their revenues from actual citizens. So, are they trying to basically abolish the UK government as such ? Unless, we are now saying that, the BBC is actually a City of London's corporation and extension of that ! If that is the case, then why do citizens need to pay the "license" fee ? To license what ?? These people should not sit directly at the board, but should sit in an arm's length advisory branch off the side of the board. And not the board of directors. Or the board of non-directors either. Certainly should NOT be a paid role !!!! They can advice on market share issue... but they cannot advice on how it should run, and what it should broadcast !!!

I hope Fei would try for these bus drivers role again.... and make use of his skills. Especially since we have so much different laws on different driving zones, and licenses....

I do not mind if BBC sticks to a standard, especially if this now reaches a supposed global audience... as such. But I do have a problem with their boards and their structures as such. And definitely do have an issue, if an outsider of the UK can access or watch these programmes, without paying a fee. They should have to pay a fee !!!

And the media sector had always been about entertainments, for its citizens. This is why we pay the license fees. It should be focused on more entertaining things. But instead.. it is being dragged through the mud... and bbc is expanding globally as well. With some aspect that takes in actual advertisements AS well ? And recently, it has signed some kind of contract, AND deals... with Tencents... especially when it comes to children's programme. Now... I thought that Tencents is actually a private company inside China. So how could it do business with a private company, but broadcasted inside China ? And then their so called "State-owned" TV channels.. are like central government level, and then there are various state-level TV channels as well ? How come... we do collaborations this way ? And these so called financiers.. are brokering the way ??? Isn't there a lack of impartialities and conflicts of interests here ????

It's a money laundering place... that is why... There was also a Bristol coin as well, wasn't there? And they were actually bankrupt.. so which country uses these so called "electronic tokens and coins" ? Mostly China, and from SE Asia... That is why. But the UK government is not intervening on this at all. When they should do.

I was reading something about how long Britain was in India.. I did not realise that, Britain was in India since 1600s... Which is a lot longer than when they have been in HK, which is only around 150. And yes, many of the paler looking Indians, are basically Anglo-Indians... i.e. Mixed-race Indians... and most are quite well educated.. and many were probably civil servants from previous generation and such like... Which I think Rishi Sunak was... Well... He is from an Indian-African family... which he seems to support Indian culture. So odd... so many Indians just loves him regardless of whether he is truly Indian or not. Lol.... I found THAT bizarre.... He gets treated more like a Prince, than Prince Charles back in India.... It is so weird... lol....

And this is because PRC joined the sodding WTO... and then also have the so called yuan on the international arenas. This is why it has gone all Pete Tong. (Those who refuses or resist is shot dead, and "extradicted" by supposed national order..... ) Well... this is the legacy left behind from 2nd world war.. This is still going on.

@007Fusiion : Lol... true. It is that transition between the telestral broadcasting to digital media. (Which I still dislike, in all honesty...cos UK totally lost control of this.) And I can see why editorial is now quite strict as well... Cos now.. we are entering into that commercial areas, that can land the government in hot waters. Basically. If treaties are different, then one presumes that... other watchers can sue the UK government, or other.

A lot actually, otherwise the "Me too" movements would not have gone ahead. And in one of my workplace, the boss, literally married.. well... he did not marry the woman, but she had the baby and they did certainly not abort. Students? Sure... have a lot more students in the UK. Why not? Cos they would want to seduce any business men. And by then.. of course, they would have to stay. Despite the wife is there... and the entire family, AND their relatives are there. How do this government, NOT take sexual harassments seriously? Because.. until there is a complaint.... Then... Sexual harassments is a very common thing, in most work places.

Mrs. G : I think I realised what has happened.. Cos the 1997 Asian financial crash was one situation.... and recently, there was hyper inflation... That is what happened, and they cannot control its effect. So the mainland side kept to this. It just... I think this is why people in HK suffered a lot. Their "inequality gap" was much wider. Even though in the UK, we speak of this... This is the so called "China lifted 900 million people out of poverty".... They boasted this, but they did not separate the needed inter-dependencies... This is why. What was a North/South financial centre, I think the country wants just the "one"... And this is the small accumulative effect. China cannot run on one single bank alone. The region is too large. I have read recently that some banks folded, again. (Just like the cultural revolution. Which saw hyper inflation afterwards, and Nationalists/ROC exited out of the country, in order to anchor the situation. This is like, happening again.) --- These people... "learn as they go" !!! (They grew too fast, too much...)

@timonsolus : Yeh.. but they might not have passed the "Life in UK" tests though... because... remember, those test centres were all digital anyway, and some were contracted out by some oddball Indian tech company. Some resides in the UK, others resided abroad. And they fudged those tests... too.. cos why? They first language is ALSO not actually English. So yeh.. talk about a badly designed test... in order to badly allow them to actually do damages. I don't know what is worst. Really. It is, what it is, as it is.

Without the experienced staff or older mentors to back up the NHS as well... or from at least a few generation's staff... they would also hit at issues as well. And this is also tie in with those doctors, who were also experienced... and they also entered the pharma sectors as well... And then this adds to the pressures too. So many skilled and experienced individuals, who previously did a lot... and they entered into the extended scope of medicine...

It is all very well that he talks about the actions which we are taking internally.. and the way that the world is, we have let many British businesses to become actual global businesses and practically palmed them off, to become those countries' actual assets ! I am just reading the likes of actual Standard Charter, that was once upon a time, belong to the British Crown only to now be used in a irresponsible way. Who do not recall the Asian crashes of the actual 1980s, and 1990s ???? Apart from the recent rush of BNOs (who seems to be loyal) to run with their cash into British soil.. I personally cannot see so many of these "IT professionals" rushing to the UK. Considering that there is a monopoly lock on their choice of rentals. Unless we have private and savvy estate agents that knows how to rent prime land towards such groups of people. Because internally, many of us inflate the price of rentals as well... and also don't even check people's literal residency documents and papers. I cannot see the growth plan working myself. Your intention is well and good, but the Indians have ran away. We used to have too many chiefs and no Indians.. but now in 2022, we have so many Indians.

It is time that we literally take the financial sector seriously. Like we did when we had HK... we literally use military might to guard the working order of a financial entity or trade or transaction. This today, is also what made Singapore worked out in the end as well. I think the brexit, is really just another closer tie towards.. the CPTPP as well... Well.. maybe these HK Cantonese, can help us bridge those ties with the likes of Japan... and maybe more ? Most of these are like financially savvy anyway. As in, they have lived in a IFC city... and so therefore knows what is what. And maybe they can literally guard back the money, and bring back the credibilities of our own banks??? And then slowly open back up trades with CPTPP.... First with Japan... We are exporting a lot of alcohols.. and also spirits into Japan. And if we are lucky, we might import some more food, along with our own goods and farms in the UK too. Time to automate them as well.
