@michaeldavid6832 : Do not forget that, Chinese women have to hold up half the sky since opening up. Meaning, they have to look after the older generation before them. As well as the younger generation too ? So it's both ways. Having kids and to hold down a job is even harder. Those who do ask for dowries, normally are very traditional. What happens is, but will become their living expenses. On top of still needing to earn to support the next generation too. That is why some regions have nobody left. They ask other nearby citizens to move there... Cos it's becoming socially depressed as a region.
