Ko-Wen couldn’t answer the simple question: “Why do you want to be President?”…..He was a strong DPP supporter, but when Lai was chosen as candidate, Ko-Wen tried running as the (polar opposite) KMT candidate—not until he was rebuffed from that Party as well, did he form his own Party….( He then agreed to team up with the KMT—just to keep the DPP from winning—but balked at having to take the “VP” slot )…. There is NOTHING “accidental” about Ko-Wen’s candidacy. He has changed Parties—and his personality—multiple times in hopes of securing power ( If he could only answer the question, “Why”)?

Sheriff Hou is a somewhat odd, little man — who has been working very hard to always show a “happy” expression — something, one gets the feeling, that doesn’t come naturally to him ….However, he has been learning to conceal many things from potential voters (including an explosive temper)….. Ko-Wen, I’ve always found to be the most fascinating : A man with an enormous ego—but one who has been an extreme “late bloomer” (not discovering the narcotic properties of power & adulation until age 55, when he was elected mayor of Taipei City)…. It is this “addiction,” I believe, that has led him to change core beliefs the way others change their socks : Going from being a strong supporter of the DPP — to, when candidate slots weren’t available, attempting to become mayoral candidate for the polar-opposite KMT Party ( and when rebuffed, forming his own Party)…. Ko-wen has also long been dogged by rumors that he knowingly acquired donor organs for patients from the CCP’s live prisoner organ harvesting program (Ko-Wen has adamantly denied the rumors—but an attempted libel lawsuit he brought against one of his accusers was denied by the judge)…. Of the 3 candidates, Ko-Wen scares me the most—there’s a whole lot of “empty” behind his eyes….

  45.  @sarbrevni I know. The problem is that so few Chinese have ever played sports, they just don’t understand things like the fact that playing on even a tender hamstring could result in a tear—and his absence from playing for a whole season….An exhibition game’s just not worth the risk.
