FACT : The Japanese would not surrender—they were preparing to “Fight to the last man, woman & child”…. The only alternative was a U.S. invasion of Japan (with casualties estimated at over 3 million) “They could have bombed a small island first “….Really? ….They had bombed ONLY Hiroshima—then waited for Japan’s quick surrender. 3 days went bye—-NO surrender. Only THEN was Nagasaki bombed…. You needn’t even be a historian to understand the fanaticism of the Japanese at this point in time. WHY should millions of US lives be wasted fighting an enemy that had already lost??
