I’ve spent 1/2 of my working life in Japan (all 9 years of it :) ! ….They are a wickedly BRILLIANT people—and FUN 🎉 I’d argue with several of your conclusions : Young ppl can leapfrog their seniors if they have special skills (in my case, that meant speaking Japanese better than most natives—making me valuable representing my firm with European & American partners….As for their “anti-immigrant” bias, that doesn’t really apply to Europeans & Americans—I know many that have taken Japanese citizenship ….you just need employer sponsorship :)

  2. Oh….You should visit, at least! I’ve spent 1/2 my working life there (all 9 years of it :)…,Japanese are wickedly brilliant (and, unlike the Chinese, they’re FUN)🎉…..Never have so much fun as when I’m restaurant-hopping with friends in Osaka 💫
