The very pretty & charismatic Amy Johnson & her handsome husband were the perfect balm for Depression-era Britain : A young, idealistic couple—venturing forth, fearlessly into the “unknown”….(a publicity man’s dream couple)….But on a serious note: What they were doing was truly dangerous (lacking radar, and with hit-or-miss radio contact, they really were “flying by the seat of their pants”)….
